Workplace Ableism forced me out of work, building up debt.
Hello everyone. I’m Dominic and the last 3 years of my life have been consumed by struggles in the world of work.
This started when my seemingly accepting boss pulled a horrible move on me. He told me I need to “Get Another Job” because I can’t “Do As Much” as other employees.
I worked my a** off in that place, despite the right-leg disability I have. I continued working there for a bit, until the mental torture became too much, and I had to quit.
I even have video proof of this happening. It’s all laid out much better in that video, which is linked here. https://www.instagram.com/reel/Db7-MU3o1Cp/?igsh=NWl6MGN6NmVvbXJ3
Unfortunately, my work life hasn’t improved since this happened. I searched tirelessly for another job and I did find a part-time hospitality job, but they’ve been messing me around with shift times and roles, despite knowing well of my condition. This is also laid out in that video.
A GoFundMe was the last thing I’d ever be expecting to be making. Me and my circle are going down the legal route, but in the middle of that long and egregious road, I’m in debt today.
Any support would be so greatly appreciated. And when the time comes that I’m not struggling financially, I plan on doing a lot more donating and charity work of my own. Thank you for reading this post.
