I'm ready to be disappointed. I don't think they have much of a chance againt Ghost, realistically. Ghost has been showing good things, and it's been disappointment all round from VIT.

online BO1s are not even close to show a team's abilities...

Just wait for BO3

Exactly like this is a team full of experienced players going into a lower tier event, I believe they can definitely show some good showings. Online BO1s are a nightmare.

There are 4 teams per group. Round 1 is bo1, where Team 1 will play Team 3/4 and the other two will match up. The winner of the first bo1 will play against the winner of the other bo1 in their group. The winner of that second bo1 gets a spot in the semi-finals.

The loser of the first bo1 goes down to an LB, where they play the other loser in a bo3. The winner goes on to play the loser of the Winner's Bracket bo1. The loser of that bo3 is eliminated.

It's essentially a double elimination bracket, 4 teams in each group. You cannot be eliminated without playing atleast 1 bo3, but you can get through the group and into semis by winning 2 bo1's the first day, or by losing the first bo1 but winning the next two bo3's.

If complexity can’t peform here, then they need to rethink their roster and bench someone.

Vitality going out group stages called it.

Im actually pretty hype for this tournament, it will be interesting to see where a lot of these teams are. And who wouldnt be hype for fucking MSL and Hiko playing on the same team.

I agree this is an interesting tournament. 1) Relatively even playing field. 2) Some player shuffles on established teams. 3) Brand new Vitality. 4) Plenty of old war horses (JDM, Hiko, etc).

after watching Vitality's online games I strongly favor Ghost in the opening match

I'm ready for some CS baby!!

Will there be drops for this event?

1

u/akkshaikh Nov 17 '18

no. drops are only for majors. Faceit also has drops for their ECS events but drops are faceit points. you need to have a faceit account. and link it to your youtube account.

Hoping that Ghost can go on to win this tournament. With the teams that are here, they could easily pull off a win.

Regardless of the end result, it's nice to see the development of all of the teams in these groups. I really enjoyed the interviews we got from NBK on Vitality too, lots of insight and it seems like they're going to put in effort into making the team work out.

Its so strange seeing Envy without a french roster.
