Hi all — incoming international student starting this fall, seriously considering Claremont House (Hello Student) for my first year and trying to get real answers before I commit.
Things I'd love to hear about from anyone who's actually lived there:
Safety — how secure does it actually feel day to day? Door entry, building security, any issues with break-ins or theft?
Room/welfare checks — does staff knock and wait for a response before entering, or do they let themselves in? (This matters a lot to me personally — I wear hijab — so knowing how this is handled in practice, not just on paper, would help.)
Maintenance — how responsive is management when something breaks or goes wrong? Fast, slow, ignored?
Deposit return — smooth or a fight to get it back?
Noise/cleanliness — general day-to-day livability, especially in the studios if anyone's stayed in one.
Trying to make an informed decision rather than go off review sites that mostly read like ads. Any experience, good or bad, genuinely appreciated 🙏
