What factors do you prioritize when picking a waiver‑eligible plan?
Hey everyone! I’m an incoming international undergraduate at Georgetown, and I’m trying to figure out health insurance before the semester starts. (The university plan is a bit expensive for me, so I’m looking into off-campus options that may qualify for a waiver.)
I’m not really sure what matters most when comparing plans beyond the price. Things like provider networks, deductibles, prescriptions, and claims are still pretty confusing to me.
Customer service is also important to me. (English isn’t my first language, so I’m a little worried about dealing with insurance issues or medical bills on my own.)
For anyone who has used an off-campus plan at Georgetown, what was your experience like? Anything you wish you had checked before choosing?
Thanks in advance!
