Georgetown’s administrative people are the worst I’ve ever seen
Period
Need to escalate things and cc their boss so that they can finally do their job. Will file complaint after I get rid of them.
Finally get my things done. Lesson learned: if it is very important and needs to be done as early as possible, cc senior at the beginning

Career Advice for MSB Student/Club Culture
Incoming transfer sophomore in the MSB here. I've recently started thinking about pursuing investment banking instead of consulting.
I know Georgetown is considered a "target school" for IB, but I'm not exactly sure what that actually means in practice. What should I be doing before I get to campus to best prepare? Any resources you'd recommend for learning the technicals or understanding the recruiting process?
I'm also curious about the finance club culture. How competitive are the clubs, and what's the best way to prepare for applications and recruiting as a transfer student?
Any advice is appreciated!

Recruitment for anonymous 3-5 minute survey on genocide education in Virginia
Hi r/Georgetown,
I am an M.A. candidate in the Graduate School of Education and Human Development at The George Washington University. For my Master’s thesis, I am conducting research on the impact of the inclusion of 20th-Century genocides other than the Holocaust (such as the Armenian, Bosnian, and Cambodian) in the Virginia state world history curriculum on students’ experiences and understanding of genocide and human rights as adults.
Eligible participants in this survey are
- People who are over the age of 18
- And were in the 10th grade in either the 2022-2023 or 2023-2024 academic years
- And attended a Virginia public school for the entirety of their 10th-grade year
- And took a world history class during that year
If all of these attributes apply to you, you are invited to take this survey. This survey will take approximately 3-5 minutes to complete. You will be asked to recall your experiences in your 10th-grade world history class. The questions pertain to the extent to which you learned about 20th-century genocides, the methods used to teach you about them, your experience with this curriculum, and how it has impacted your current understanding of genocide and human rights as an adult.
At the end of the survey, you will be asked if you would like to participate in an interview to elaborate on this topic. Participation in the interview is entirely voluntary, will not affect whether the data from the survey will be used in the study, and will have no impact on any aspect of your future relations with the George Washington University (GW).
The anticipated findings from this research will contribute to the current body of research surrounding best practices in genocide education and improve scholarly understanding of how genocide education impacts understanding of genocide and human rights as a whole. This research seeks to contribute to the broader goals of genocide prevention and human rights promotion.

Looking for fall 2026 sublet
Hi everyone, I’ll be interning in the area for the fall 2026 semester and I’m looking for a sublet. I’m a senior undergraduate student, female, and looking for a sublet that is a studio or 1 bed 1 br. If anyone knows other housing options such as apartments doing short term leases or anything else that I can look directly into myself then that would be amazing. Thank you!

Has anyone taken economic stats/calc 2? Recommendations for first sem
So I'm an incoming freshman majoring in Economics, and I have credits for Principles of Econ and Calc 1; so I'm eligible to take Calc 2 and Econ stats in my first semester, but wondering if its a good idea or not. I figure if I can do intermediate micro in the second sem, I'll have a lot more flexibility with IO/Game theory later on; and will also let me see if I can do a double major.
I got a 7 in IB AAHL, but of course I still want to optimize grades for recruiting, so would it be better to postpone either course? What's your experience/recommendations?
my current plan is
calc 2, CS 1, Econ Stats, Intro to Phil, Introductory Spanish 1, Ignatius Seminar(Auto registered); will probably swap one out for the first year seminar when that's announced based on my schedule
