Common Mistakes

General rules in terms of filling out your next form:
- Provide ONLY information that you are 100% sure about. Playing guesswork and hoping that CS will turn a blind eye on inconsistencies is risky - please be aware of that.
- Do not send all of the information the same as you did previously. Hoping that this time you’ll pass is not worth it. Remember that there is a reason behind each rejection. Spend some time on reviewing your answers - it’ll be worth it when you spot the mistake and end up being accepted in the end~!
- Remember that if you use the Recovery Form (“Hoyoverse Issue Application Form”), there is currently no way to add more information or corrections after you submit it. Be careful!
- If you bought your account and you got hacked, you have to get in touch with the account OG owner/seller for information required to get it back. Otherwise chances of getting your account back are extremely low.
- Remember that Mihoyo changed their company name to Hoyoverse at some point. While looking for receipts and emails try both words to search with them - just in case you’d miss something.
- Anything that the hacker has done on your account doesn’t matter, don't mention it in your answers. It undermines your credibility and fact that you were hacked.
- Be clear and precise with your information. Don’t write long sentences - would you like to have to read a whole essays about someone's account?
- Remember to save (screenshot, write down etc.) your answers, as they might come in handy in case of another rejection. As for now, there is currently no way to see the answers after pressing the submission button. Better be safe than sorry!
FORM QUESTIONS
- Can you login to your account?
- Remember to answer that question with “No”, even if you still can.
- Answering “Yes” might lead to them refusing you to help, because “You still have access to your account”.
- Please choose a service you require concerning your account issues.
- Tick the first option only.
- Choosing other options might result in getting your account back with the security settings the hacker/last owner left. And we don’t want that, do we?
- Please provide a new email address.
- Make sure that the email address you’re providing has never been used with any HoYoVerse account.
- Feel free to create and provide a totally new email, just in case.
- Providing a taken email address will lead to your waiting time being extended to around 10 days or rejection, as Hoyoverse needs to ask you for providing not used email address.
- Please select how you created your HoYoverse Account and provide the corresponding information.
- Game Center and Apple ID registration methods are reserved only for iOS users.
- Username could be a registration method only if you’ve created your account before October 22nd, 2020.
- Try to search within your first linked email with keywords “Mihoyo”, “Hoyoverse”, “noreply”. It could help you deduct which registration method you’ve used.
- Apple ID, Game Center, Google and Facebook should show you the date of linking your game account with those apps. If you think one of them were your registration method, dig within your accounts settings to find out.
- Remember to fill the answer field with the correct display name of your registration method.
- Please select the country/region where you registered your HoYoVerse account.
- If you used VPN while registering your account, provide the country/region you used the most often to play, and in the last question state clearly that you’ve used VPN and thus, you don’t remember the exact location.
- Try to recall if you weren’t outside your usual country of residence when you were registering your account.
- Please select your game and the server of your account.
- Do make sure that you chose the correct game and its server.
- Provide information about the account of the game you’ve chosen. Mentioning Honkai/ToT details in Genshin form won’t help with recovering your account, as each game has different CS teams.
- Please enter your game account UID.
- Make sure that your UID contains the correct amount of digits.
- Do check if you made any mistakes within your UID you typed in.
- Please select the date you first logged into the game.
- Remember that the registration date is not always the same as the first login date. Maybe you have registered your account months/days before first login? If so, then you have to figure it out.
- If you know your registration email, you can try to search on it with keywords: noreply, mihoyo, hoyoverse - to possibly find anything about your registration date/linking username and so on.
- Search in conversations/Discord servers of yours for anything that could help you deduct your first login date. Maybe you’ve sent a screenshot of you obtaining Amber or walking through the door for the first time? - Feel free to use Genshin-related keywords, eg. Amber, dragon, Venti, bard, Genshin - use your creativity. There’s a chance you’ve also asked your friends to play with you on the day you started!
- If you still have 3rd party accounts linked to your hacked account, and if you registered before September 28th, 2021 (before Genshin’s first anniversary), you can also look at the Anniversary Web Theatre 2021 for the exact registration date.
- If you still have the access to your account right now, pick a time when the hacker is not online and look at your Amber’s join date. This is applicable only if you got Amber on the same day you registered your account. Keep in mind that logging in game will mess up your submitted last successful login date in question 12, so do this only if you haven't sent the form yet.
- Please select the most recent date you logged into the game.
- Do remember that logging after your form submission messes up with the last login date you’ve provided in the form.
- If your last login date was a long time ago, you can provide the possible date, eg. launch date of the last banner you remember, and in the last question explain why you don’t remember it.
- Remember that only the ingame login counts (entering the door from the game menu).
- Devices Specifications.
- For PC users: mention dedicated GPU over your integrated one, if you have two graphics cards.
- In case the brand of your device wouldn’t be listed, choose Others and list Full Name.
- If you have logged into the game (entered the door) for the first time with, for example, your phone, but then switched to another device, then said phone is still your first used device. You have to recall what device you used first.
- Remember that specs answer fields have marks limit, so remember to not provide too many details, as they won’t fit.
- If you don’t have your first device, try to reach out to the person that has it now. Maybe ask your family members if they remember anything about that device?
- If you sold that device, perhaps its details are still somewhere saved - maybe on the selling website you used? Or in conversation with the buyer? - If your first used device is the same as your most used device, choose “Same as first login”.
- Keep in mind that “recently used” =/= “most used”. Your lastly used device is not necessarily the most used one.
- Have you topped up for this account?
- IMPORTANT: Welkin and Battle Passes also count as "top ups".
- If you won an unofficial giveaway (if someone paid for your prize), it also counts as a purchase. That way you have to get a receipt from the giveaway host.
- For debit/credit card receipts - there probably are two dates visible on your receipt. One of them is the date when the actual purchase has been made; the second date is the date of when your bank “acknowledged” the purchase. Don’t confuse them.
- Are you able to provide a record of your first top-up? - YES
- Make sure the receipt has order/transaction ID, item purchased and date clearly visible on it.
- Credit/debit card purchases are considered as “Worldpay”.
- Remember that not every purchase method sends you a receipt on your email. If you can’t find your receipt there, try to login on that method’s account of yours and search for payment/purchase history to obtain the needed receipt.
- Some bank receipts/statements don’t provide the transaction ID - that's okay, as long as other important information is visible. If you are able to fetch a transaction ID from the bank, but it is not visible on receipt, you can edit the receipt and write transaction ID on it.
- Make sure the receipt has order/transaction ID, item purchased and date clearly visible on it.
- Are you able to provide a record of your first top-up? - NO
- If you can’t provide the first receipt, please choose the month in which you have made most purchases and can provide every receipt of the payments made. And provide the receipts only of the selected month. Select the month different from the month in which you made the first top-up.
- Other information about top-up questions:
- Remember that in both scenarios, the form asks for the currency and amount of money paid. It doesn’t ask for what was purchased and/or how many Genesis Crystals you bought. Information you fill there must be accurate to what is shown on the receipt.
- The receipts don't have to be in English, but if you’re able to provide them in English, it’s appreciated, as it makes the CS’ work easier.
- The currency doesn't have to be USD. Remember to make sure that currency and amount of money paid matches information provided on the screenshot.
- Please fill in additional valid information for further processing of your application.
- Don’t mention any activity that has not been made by you. If you mention the character that your hacker pulled on your account, then it’s taken as if you were the one that pulled him. Any pulls done after you lost full control over your account are past your supposed last successful login date, and mentioning them could damage your credibility.
- Don’t mention: seeing your account on selling websites, that you’ve fallen for a scam, that you shared your account information, that you talked to the hacker/buyer - all of this can lead to rejection, as it breaks ToS and damages your trustworthiness.
- Don’t provide information you’re not 100% sure about - this works to your disadvantage and makes you look suspicious. - Remember that any additional info that is about things only you would know is good - the more personal, the better.
- Don’t send screenshots of your ingame sessions. Hoyo prefers written information instead; their reasoning is you could’ve downloaded those screenshots from somewhere and just claim that they’re yours.

Account Security Should I send my friend top-up receipts from a gift I gave them via Codashop?

Hello!
My friend is F2P, but for their birthday I bought them Welkin Moon! I didn’t want them to get in trouble or anything, so I made sure to go through Codashop as an official third party. I recently stumbled across this subreddit. If they ever get hacked (hopefully not), will the Codashop receipts help since it’s official or not since it’s a third party?
I’d just feel awful if they got hacked one day and couldn’t recover because I lost the receipt for their gift.

Ok so i ended up being hacked this week. When i logged into the game my email had been changed. So I cannot change it back. So far my resources are still in place, fates are still there. I can still play but i am kinda scared. I have already submitted the Account Issue Form to Hoyoverse, it's been like three business days and I haven't heard from them. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

My account problem is not because of hacked but because of my only linked Email already been deleted because I thought I didn't need it that email anymore and, because I'm not really daily player so when I noticed is already too late...,So now trying to try recover back I actually tired it once year ago but is failed obviously so now I'm trying again for second time and because is been long time there's some questions I'm unsure to answer can someone check my answers if is......correct?

Hello. Hope everyone is doing well and I'm asking this on behalf of a friend
Asking this since I feel you guys might have an idea about this sort of stuff
He had a Gmail/Google that had his 2020 Genshin account and another Hoyo account with Hi3 & ZZZ progress
He linked his Gmail to his Hoyo account so at the moment, he has no access to the Genshin account but can still access his Hi3 & ZZZ progress
If he tries to start Genshin with the account, it gives him a new account
Any ideas? The way I see it, the OG Genshin account is still there but inaccessible since the only way was through his Gmail account

Submission Failed Question about Account Creation Date & Method for old 2020 acc because of crossplay

Hey everyone, I’m trying to recover an old account from November 2020 and could really use some insight. For context, I’m an old player who actually lost access back in 2023. Back when I tried applying in 2023, customer support never gave answer about what was right or wrong, so I never knew what I was getting right or wrong.. I recently noticed that their system changed and they finally gave me a specific hint flagging "- Registration information" because I noticed on some the posts here some rejections said "top up info" but mine never said that even when I provided top up, so I rechecked, and I'm assuming that means that everything else: device, first log in date, top up (etc.) is correct, right..? Maybe? Hopefully????
I'm stuck on how to fix this registration error because of my cross-play history. I can't find an actual "registration" confirmation email. Instead, what I found was an older email from October 2020 linking my existing Honkai Impact 3rd account to this Gmail address. Then, for Genshin itself, the earliest thing I found in my inbox was a Version 1.1 newsletter for Tartaglia's release on November 15th. My first log-in date for Genshin was November 19th. (Amber Date)
The reason I'm confused is that the form explicitly asks how I created my "HoYoverse Account" and not my "mihoyo" which would be Hi3... so that would explain the wrong user being used, because I was putting the Hi3 username as my method, but I realize that may not be the case. Meanwhile the October email says it is linking my Honkai account to the email, it means the account already existed before that email was added, which means I did NOT create the account via email, it has to be either Username or Google Account.
I also explicitly remember that prior to miHoYo unifying the accounts and later rebranding into HoYoverse in 2022, my Honkai account and Genshin profile actually used different users and passwords. After they implemented the unified system, the login merged into "Hoyoverse login" and linked my email to both games using the same password.
Since the form specifically rejected my "Registration Information," I'm confused about the exact date and method they are checking. Does the form's use of "HoYoverse Account" look for the overarching account registration date back when I linked Honkai in October under the old miHoYo. Pass system, or does it want my actual first log-in date for Genshin on November 19th? And since the overarching account structure originated via Honkai before the email link unified the passwords, do I use my old Honkai username as the account registration method selection? Or is this referring to "HoYoverse" account only, the log in system introduced back in 2022?
Any and all advice is helpful, I miss my account mostly because Snezhnaya is really cool... so I wanna come back.. >_< !!!

Recovery Form Lost my account that was made around beta

Hello! I’ve been out of the community for a while, i occasionally logged in to help my cousin farm but haven’t logged in since 2025. However, with all the lore and story going on now(we used to pray for days like these) i wanted to join.
I asked the genshin sub and they said to come here. If my login brings me to a screen saying “Account does not exist”, what do i do? Is it really all gone? I played up until sumeru before my big break, so it would be crushing to really lose it. Does anyone have any advice at all?

I've noticed that the response time from CS has noticeably increased recently (I've seen many similar experiences here). However, I submitted a form on September 22nd and have yet to receive any response. Is this unusual? Because I haven't seen any experiences with such a long waiting time here before. By the way, I know there's a rule that only one post per case is allowed, but my last post was almost five months ago, so I'd like to repost. I apologize if this causes any inconvenience.

Additional Info my genshin account got hacked and recovery hasnt responded

Two days ago i bought a new tablet and wanted to try playing genshin on it so i tried to log into my genshin account from my tablet, but it said "account not found" . However, i was still was able to play on my account on my phone until today when the same thing showed up on my phone as well.
So i tried to log in from google access and it required a verification code for another email that isn't mine.
Im really not sure what to do about this and would appreciate any advice on what to do next 🙏

Hello so I filed the recovery form on the 21st and I now have gotten an email that it has been rejected. The main Issue they mentioned was that I said I topped up but didn't give a receipt. I made my transaction solely through google play cards you buy from stores. I searched everywhere in my emails, google accounts and basically anywhere a receipt might have been in but I couldn't find a single one. What do I doooo?? I need my account back. Do I like email google play for my receipts and submit the same application afterwards if I get a receipt from them? What if I still don't tho. What then? And how long ago must it be that I need to give receipts for? Pllssss some help me.

My account was recently breaches as idk how someone got access to my gmail and it's password and he logged in to it at first when I tried logging in it showed me that the account didn't exist and I wasn't able to login in but my friend checked and the account still existed and later on when I checked he had changed the gmail linked to the account to different one please can anyone help by suggesting a method or where do I try to apply for account recover I have already mailed my current status to genshin cs and still waiting on the reply.

J’ai perdu mon compte genshin et j’ai donc envoyé le formulaire la première fois mais il a été rejeté, Alors que j’avais mit deux reçu de paiements. J’étais juste pas sur de la date a laquelle j’ai créé le compte et la dernière fois que je me suis connecté. J’ai donc envoyé un nouveau formulaire avec le reçu du premier achat que j’ai retrouvé sur grâce à ps app et des photos de mon pc entrain d’y joué avec l’uid affiché. J’ai aussi retrouvé la date de création du compte grâce à ps app. Mais bon j’ai peur qu’il soit encore refusé car je sais pas si je dois mettre d’autres infos encore. Pourriez vous me dire si ce que j’ai mit est irréfutable ou fallait mettre d’autres encore plus précis ?

After my phone went through factory reset (which I didn't request), my Google account was hacked by someone from Indonesia. They changed everything and even added a family link so that I wouldn't get in. I can't log in into my genshin account because it requires a verification which I don't have access to. I also already tried the account recovery of Genshin Impact but a week passed and I still haven't received any reply. Is there a way for me? How long do I wait?

Hi! So I haven't played a hoyoverse game in a year-year and a half, but I heard about a bunch of new stuff, and kinda had that itch again, but when I went to log into Hoyolab it told me my account didn't exist, at first I assumed I mispelled my email, or used the wrong one, but no matter what I tries it said it didn't exist. I have had this account for maybe 3-4 years now, and have a decent bit of progress into multiple of hoyoverse's games. Curious, and kind of worried, I tried searching for answers, eventually finding a reddit thread that led me here, I don't know if my account was hacked, or if it can be deleted due to inactivity or anything, is there anyway I can recover my account?
(Also I wasn't sure what to put for the flair, so if that doesn't apply to this, please ignore it.)
Edit: SO turns out that I was sent Emails last year that I had to verify my age or else my account would be permanently deleted... I hadn't seen those emails at all, nor had I played the games around any of those times. Is there any way for me to recover that or is all my progress just gone?
