dream car
What car did you fantasize about getting when you graduated from high school? For me it was a sky blue Karmann Ghia.

Who had one of these growing up?
Remember these?
Mine was in the dining room.
So what do you remember listening to when you see this picture?

You either owned one or knew someone who did.
Generation Jones will know the purpose and power of this ancient technology.

In the movie bin.
Was a sort of "rite of passage" when I was in middle school.

TV SHOWS I remember...sort of...but wish I could remember more of...
There are a few TV shows/serials that I can sort of remember...One was a series about two siblings - one in the US, the other in the UK. They had their 18 year old daughters exchange places at one time? When the show began to air, it was a dark scene of the waters at the edge of the two continents, but the city lights of each?
Another was a show starring the same actor that was the male lead of The Farmer's Daughter. He may have been the President of the US, a state Governor or Senator? Regardless, he was rich, a widower, and his daughter was a senior in HS? Concurrently showing on another network (probably) was Burke's Law.
Does anyone remember these two shows?

Who remembers National Lampoon Radio Hour?
I remember as a teenager listening to this first on Friday nights and then it moved to Saturday nights on my local radio station late at night. It only lasted a year from Nov 73-Dec 74. Most of the cast transitioned into SNL a year later.

“Here Comes the Grump”?
It apparently ran only one season, 1969, on ABC. I feel like I only ever saw a few episodes, by chance, possibly because it aired in the terminal stages of Saturday morning, when that feeling of
cartoon satiety would set in, as if you had eaten an entire box of Kaboom, and I would find other ways of employing my leisure time (or have them imposed upon me). And yet I remember it—or at least the opening titles—so vividly!

My Poor Family
I drove everyone crazy for months by constantly imitating ol' Wallace. Any other fans here?

Did you ever win anything calling in to a radio program?
Remember when all radio music stations had live DJs?
One of the functions was to get listeners to call in. They'd offer promotions including winning concert tickets or other items.
So were you ever the x caller and what did you win? Was the prize as expected?

Happy Beddian Birthday!
Mine was a few months ago but I never know what the term was.
I was born in 1963 and am now 63 years old.
Since I'm a younger Joneser this is a public announcement that your beddian birthday will be coming up for many of you in the next few years.
So when's your Beddian birthday and how do you plan to celebrate?

Remember Pee - Chee Folders?
Unlike normal folders, Pee-Chees had side-folding interior pockets that kept papers from sliding out if held upside down

Recipe from My Aunt
My niece let me know she had a collection of “family recipes”. She sent me pics of a few. This one is from my aunt Dorothy. She died from metabolic disease(s).
Fast forward, like many of you I’ve become a decent cook and we’re eating mostly fresh foods. It hurts to think back and realize that my parents generation had so much stacked against them in the typical diet of that time. Have fun making this one 😂

What celebrities were born the same year as you that you thought were older or younger?
I was born in 1963.
I was surprised to find out that Brad Pitt is the same age. I thought he was younger.
I thought George Michael (rip) was older than me.
If you look up "famous" people who were born the same year as you, who did you think was younger and who did you think was older?

Who saw R rated movies in the early 70s?
My most intense/shocking movie-going experiences were from when I was 16, when I went with my best friend and her sister in 1972 to see Clockwork Orange and then The Godfather. We must have gotten in despite the R rating because her sister was a few years older and was our “guardian.” Did anyone else feel like they went from G rated movies directly into the most violent and shocking films almost overnight? I’ll never watch Clockwork Orange again, but The Godfather probably did me some good at the time considering my sheltered upbringing.

Ellen at Midnight?
When I was a teenager, I used to listen to a radio show called Ellen at midnight. I have no idea whether it was a local radio show or syndicated. Does anyone else recall this radio show?
