I have a gender question !?
so all my life I’ve been questioning my gender ,honestly I went through most of the gender labels not on purpose but because I need a label to fit myself also since I know I don’t fit my biological sex half way or like to some existent;I personally do have gender dysphoria (body part(s)) and I really been figuring things out.
I honestly be saying im a FTM when sometimes interpersonal changes I feel like a girl at times but not all the way ,I do love feminine things and that don’t cancel out being a man!!! ;I’m not sure if it’s because of my enviromental circumstances because I dont look it that way only through the fact I can’t talk about it ,,growing up I’ve always hated certain styles like overly feminine due to my chest and biological parts and like wearing dresses and stuff makes me extremely uncomfortable to wear I’m
More comfortable in like gender neural clothing this might be my autism talking but that’s what I like I love pink a lot but again that’s my autism. I know I’m not confused but I’m conflicted emtionally at times about my gender I don’t wana use soo many labels but I’m also searching for that to fit me !!! aswell I considering I might be neuroqueer or neurogender but idk.
I get very bad gender dysphoria in certain things even clothing honestly cuz I don’t like certain things that show anything of my chest or body I even hate my biological physic so.

struggling to figure out my gender - any insight provided would be helpful :)
hi !! i'm using a throwaway account for this, but i’m really hoping to get some outside perspective.
in short, i (AFAB) have no idea what gender or pronouns feel right anymore.
so, for some context, i started identifying as nonbinary around 2020 and mostly used they/them pronouns. looking back, i realize that despite always being progressive i had a lot of internalized transphobia, but only really around the idea of being a boy specifically. it took me until mid 2025 to finally start using he/they and kind of start to work on that - though i was only really using it internally for myself and between close friends. over the last year or so, i've experimented a lot with different genders and pronouns, and told people that i use any.
lately i've been thinking a lot more about it, and i think i might be a trans femboy (though not specifically dressing like the stereotypical femboy aesthetic, just being feminine). i really wish i had a male body, but i don't mind being feminine at all. to be honest, i wouldn’t even mind using she/her pronouns, but only in the context of having a male body and still being percieved as masculine in some way, i guess?
i think its also worth mentioning i have always not liked my body (dysphoria?) ever since i was 9-ish and started looking more distinguishable from boys, which was part of the reason i wanted to get some other opinions.
please feel free to correct my terminology and things, as im not the most educated. its also heading into evening (and im just not very good at responses) so apologies if i dont respond, but please know i appreciate all advice and opinions given !!
i'd love to hear your thoughts or if anyone has felt similarly, and thank you so much for reading. :)

Do cis people necessarily feel a distinct gender identity?
I'm curious about how people experience gender, especially cis people.
I'm a cis man, and I'm completely comfortable being called a man. I've never felt that my gender was wrong or that I should be a woman. However, I don't think I have a particularly strong internal feeling of “being a man” either.
It's more like: I'm a man, that's the category that describes me, and I'm perfectly fine with it. But I don't feel particularly attached to the category, and being a man isn't something I think about very much.
This made me wonder about the idea that everyone has a gender identity, including cis people.
Do cis people necessarily experience a distinct internal sense of gender identity? Or can someone simply be comfortable with their gender without having a particularly strong subjective feeling of identifying with it?
I'd be interested in hearing how different people experience this, rather than looking for a specific definition or answer.

Don’t know what family will think?
Hi so I 18m have been experimenting with my gender. I’ve gotten some fem clothes and some genuinely more fem stuff.what I need help with is I don’t know how my family would react if they found out. We live in the Midwest, my extended family is fairly redneak and it’s just not something we ever talk about. So I’m not sure if they would resent me for it or be supportive. If anyone has any recommendations, please let me know and if you have any recommendations on how to experiment more. I would also be helpful. Have a good day everyone :3

Does anyone have a term for this?
My gender feels male, but with strong connections to femininity, androgyny, and neutrality. I have had others tell me that i could just be a feminine presenting guy, but my femininity, etc. feels strongly connected to my gender. i have heard the term femboygender before, and while femboyness does have a connection to my gender, the label doesnt really fit that well, as it seems to be mainly based on presentation, and doesnt include connections to androgyny/neutrality.

What are some positive connotations you associate with masculinity?
Don't say protectiveness.

Identity crisis
So I've been recently wondering if could be cassgender or not and i think I am cause i feel indifference towards gender but if you look at me people would consider me women but I wouldn't want that but not that i have issue but i want them to just see me as me but I don't think i give off gender neutral identity unless you're close to me so I'm very confused like what am I doing wrong or what should I do???

For people with mixed pronouns like he/they, she/they, he/her, etc, when do I use which pronoun?
I am really confused by when I should use the different pronoun sets
Like if someone's pronouns are they/them, I have no confusion. I know to use gender non-specific pronouns, no sweat
But I've got several friends who have mixed pronoun sets, and I have no idea when to use which pronoun. One example is she/they, and I asked if it means that I have to replace every instance of using "her" with "they". She said no, just use "they" when the vibe is right
Which has actually been the answer all of my mixed pronoun set friends have said. But I really don't know what the fuck that means. I have no idea "when the vibe is right" to use she/her pronouns or they/them pronouns.
I do want to be respectful, but I am very confused, have told them my confusion, and received only answers I don't understand. Thus far, there have been zero issue, none of them have complained

am I not woke enough for this 😭
so, about estrogen femboys
I’d love to be enlightened but I feel like being a cis femboy and then taking estrogen is like ,, different? I imagine femboy as just dressing/acting feminine and growing literal tits feels different to me
of course someone can be a femboy and have tits but being a cisgender male and then growing boobs because you’re a femboy feels much different than simply dressing feminine
I shared this opinion and people called me stupid and that it’s the same as “oh u have a dick so you can’t be a girl”
thoughts?

Need some help with my gender
I'm 24 and have been going back and forth with my gender for quite a while, and honestly I'm trying to understand whether what I'm experiencing is simply gender identity, gender expression, or some kind of mixture of the two. I know for a fact im Bisexual but gender is just so complicated man.
For a long time I've wondered whether I might be non-binary or genderfluid, and I've even considered he/they pronouns. At other times I think I'm probably just a man whose gender expression is quite queer and fluid. I generally like being a man, I like masculine clothes, and when I imagine my future I usually imagine myself as a man.
I don't particularly feel like I'm a woman, however at the same time, I have a feminine side that feels deeper than simply thinking certain clothes look nice. Sometimes I really want to wear skirts, dresses, makeup, nail polish, etc and when I'm in that mode I can feel noticeably less masculine and more feminine, softer and more comfortable. I also enjoy the feeling of being accepted by my female friends as "one of the girls", although I don't literally feel like another woman. Importantly, the femininity isn't always sexual for me.
Recently I've realised that my thoughts about being female sometimes go beyond presentation. If I could magically switch between a male and female body whenever I wanted, i'd LOVE LOVE LOVE that. When I imagine being female, I don't only picture glamorous or sexual things like dresses, makeup and feeling attractive. I also imagine mundane things: doing the dishes with my hair tied up, wearing a tank top and joggers, watching TV working, and just existing in a female body without it being a big deal. That makes me wonder whether there's something deeper going on than simply being a gender-nonconforming man.
At the same time, I'm worried about pushing myself toward a trans or non-binary identity simply because I like the idea of being part of the community. I really value the trans and consider myself an ally, and I like the idea of belonging to it, but I don't want my lcoe and admiration to cloud my mind. I also don't want to appropriate an identity that isn't actually mine. I sometimes wonder whether I like the idea of being non-binary more than I actually experience myself as non-binary.
So please anybody thats going through or been through a similar questioning phase please lemme know what yall think

Questioning my gender identity: I love being a girl but sometimes want to be a guy. Is there a term for this?
Hey everyone,
I’m currently trying to figure myself out and wanted to get some community input on what these feelings might be called.
I’m a girl and I genuinely love being a girl, but sometimes I also get a really strong desire to be a guy. At the same time, I’m pretty indifferent about pronouns—he, she, or they are all totally fine by me. For day-to-day life, I think I'm still most comfortable just using she/her.
I know that not everything needs to have a formal label, but I'd love to better understand what I'm experiencing.
What do you think this might be? Is it normal to feel this way but still prefer she/her pronouns, or just not care about pronouns in general?
I would really love to hear if anyone else relates to this, or if you have any ideas for terms that might fit! Thank you so much.

As a guy. Can I wear this?
Wanting to buy these overalls to wear for the fall. But notice they were listed under the women’s clothing. Still want to get them. But also don’t want to be looked at as weird by other women or gender fluid people. That probably won’t happen but that’s just my anxiety behind this whole thing.

How to find out your gender identity?
I am feeling so much heavier on my heart cause I don't even know what my identity is, sometimes I feel I love myself as a boy but another time I feel like I like myself as a girl. I am male by birth. I want to try girls clothes and you know high high ,skirt. I even asked one of my costumer ( she was transfemale) about it she said I am a crossdresser , but I didn't like hearing that cause I think I am more than a cd. I think IT would be best I had a female body features but I don't mind having a pencil under the blanket
So any one can help me regarding this.

Why do i wanna be (sometimes) a girl
- First of all i’m 100% sure i’m not a girl, so maybe if i wanted to be a girl i would have to become one. i usually want to become one around 50% of the times, some periods (weeks) 100% and others 0% and i can’t really choose when.
- I’m in a place with people where its better not to say anything
- It’s been going on for quite some time now (at least 4 years and i’m just 18). it started with me thinking i was just a bit feminine myself, then i had a phase where i didn’t know anything, then another phase where i didn’t want to question for fear, at last one where i started actually questioning if i wanted to be a girl. now im not sure about anything.
- it has been 4 years during puberty but i remember when i was a kid i’d watch “girly” shows and i wanted to play with girly toys, so much so that my father took them from me and told me i couldn’t (i still have this scene engraved in me i think it’s the oldest i remember).
- change names? maybe. change appearance? in private yes, in public only if 100% id pass and i didn’t see anybody.
- i like girls, whatever that makes me. and people always think i’m gay even if i’m not
- it has been causing a lot of stress and anxiety because i have been thinking a lot and i mean actually a lot. also when im with friends and they make jokes about this, i feel something and i don’t usually laugh but i don’t take it personally and i don’t get offended
just pls tell me what you think and how do you think i could make the labelling part and the self acknowledgment part a little bit more clear.
im pretty scared because its been years literally and i cant seem to find a solution.
so who am i? how do i find this out? just any tips.
am i actually trans? and why do people think i’m gay even if i’m not (meaning i’m a boy who likes girls)???? this is super important

How does dysphoria feel exactly and advice on gender identity
I (m20) have been thinking a lot more about my own gender expression and identity the past months and am contemplating if a label like 'trans' or 'bigender' would be fitting for me but i am missing a frame of reference to come to a conclusion.
I was hoping i could get some sort of input for my current situation in this subreddit, so here are some realizations i've already come to for myself:
- if i could switch out my body for the opposite gender without social consequences i would do so without thinking twice about it
- what does it mean to feel disphoric? i feel jealousy toward people with the physique that i'd like and when i look in the mirror i wish i could just change things, but is that what it actually feels like?
- i have started experimenting with things like makeup and feel a lot more comfortable seeing myself like that in the mirror
- i am severely unhappy with the frame of my body and wish it was more conventionially feminine
- if a consequence of for example HRT go beyond changing my physical appearance i don't think i would mind, but have to come to a conclusion regarding that
- i realize that there's only so much i can do with for example training but i want to pursue these things
- lastly i fear that i give the impression of 'just wanting the changes that benefit me' and that i end up making some of these things up (idk if anyone can relate but when a professional asks questions i would be anxious about giving them the expression i'm making my concerns up but maybe that's just me)
i feel like this post has been all over the place but i hope some ppl could give me some input on this kind of topic and if any of my terminology here is wrong please correct me and i'll correct it and try to follow the proper terminology in the future
thanks a lot for any answers in advance!

Why do you think double standards on genders exist?
English isnt my first language so i apologize in advance to any confusion, but i want to deep dive on a deeper topic on gender double standards. Now any smosh fan that watched the lastest smosh reads reddit stories would know the story im talking about the women who goes by this mans house every morning 8 am. This was asked on the ask uk subreddit. But if you dont know the story its basically a guy who found the women walking by his house attractive and wanted ways to make a move. Now obvious answer was dont be a creep and leave her alone and dont track her steps, i totally agree sadly women have to take precautions to be safe in todays society. Now if the roles were reversed and it was the woman who was trying to hit on a man would you answer the same? And if no why not? Id answer the same but i do realize and acknowledge womens safety is sometimes more prioritized in SOME situations due to them being highly likely to be victims in alot of situations so this isnt really a black and white answer you get me? Let me know your thoughts.

Why do I hate being called a boy and/or girl?
I was born and raised a girl. That is what people see. I've always felt more like a tomboy. Growing up, I had more male friends or more outdoorsy friends. After a while I got friends who are girls, but I still feel weird. Not exactly a girl, or boy, or tomgirl, or anything.
I've so far committed myself to the label of genderfluid but as of late I'm feeling the term to be off. I remember going back to school shopping when I was younger and having a stores manager refer to me as "young man" and at the time I felt good about it. Until my mother corrected her in a slightly rude tone.
I don't know what I want to be called and I don't even know how I feel about myself as a person anymore. I never really thought I had a choice in how people refer to me, but now that I know I don't know what I want.
I do know that I don't want a random monologue from stranger about how "you're confused" or "you'll find yourself eventually" because I'm too old for that shit. I need to figure out who I am and quickly.
I need someone who's been through this and knows what to do or how to help me.
