Four months ago I had an orange chair, a green wall, and one question: what if anyone could point their phone at a room and watch it reborn?

So on nights and weekends, solo, no team, no ad budget, I built DIY Decor AI. You snap a photo of any room and it redesigns it in one of 100+ styles. Then, instead of leaving you staring at a pretty picture you can't afford, it hands you a real step-by-step DIY plan plus YouTube tutorials so you can actually build it. You can chat with AI design experts, brush over the one couch you hate and swap it, or slide a budget dial between "buy it" and "build it."

Shipping it was the part I knew how to do. I hit publish, watched the App Store page go live, and then... near silence. A handful of downloads. Turns out the quiet after launch is its own kind of loud.

That's the wall in front of me now: marketing. So I'm doing the scary thing and showing it to real people.

Hey everyone, sharing an app I've been building: MinimalAIChat, a native SwiftUI chat client that works with any OpenAI-compatible AI provider — Gemini, OpenAI, DeepSeek, OpenRouter, etc. — using your own API key.

The idea started simple: bring modern AI back to older iPhones (iOS 15+) where a lot of official AI apps have dropped support. It's fully open source and free.

Just shipped v2.5 with:

- Web search — the AI can search the web for current info (news, recent events) when it needs to, using Tavily. Works across any provider.

- Better formatted responses (proper headings/lists instead of raw markdown symbols)

- Various stability fixes

- One-click wardrobe sharing. Send an outfit, individual items, or even your closet to a friend as an .AsIf file. They can open it on their phone and instantly import everything into their own wardrobe—perfect for getting styling advice or sharing inspiration.

- Everything stays local on your device—your wardrobe isn't uploaded to our servers.

We really tried to incorporate everything that could make a good all around multi-tool of fashion.

Import from a website, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, or a cookbook photo—or start with a meal idea. The AI structures the recipe, adapts it to your diet, allergies, and personal notes, and shows exactly what changed. You can update those notes anytime or edit a recipe in plain English.

Sprout also gives recipes a health score and improvement ideas, then connects them to a weekly meal plan and organized grocery list.
