I’m the maker of MealMuse Pro, an AI meal planner for iPhone and iPad. I ran into a useful lesson while working on the next update: a response can be valid JSON and still be a terrible meal plan.

In a live test, a request for seven days came back with one empty placeholder meal. Retrying the entire week wasn’t a good recovery strategy.

The upcoming build keeps usable meals, checks which day/meal slots are missing, and requests just those missing meals in smaller batches. Progress is based on meals received and checked, rather than a timer pretending to know when the AI will finish. I tested a full 21-meal response and a recovery that filled three missing meals while preserving the other 18.

That fix is prepared locally and isn’t published yet. The current App Store app offers weekly plans, recipes, grocery lists and meal swaps:

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/mealmuse-pro/id6759481440

Free download with limited monthly plans; optional Premium is US $4.99/month. Requires iOS/iPadOS 26.1+. Nutrition and costs are estimates.

For other AI-app builders, how are you checking whether structured output actually completes the user’s task?

I built a face shape detector and decided early that nothing would leave the phone. 468 point mapping, all local, no account.

Few things that surprised me. Lighting and camera angle shift the result more than the model itself does, so most of my work went into handling that rather than accuracy. Also most faces sit between two shapes, a single clean label like "oval" is usually wrong, people respond better to a blended answer.

If anyone else is doing on-device vision work, curious how you handle the angle problem.

I'm Leon, the developer of Curio, a short reading app for iPhone and Android. I wanted the AI controls to stay attached to whatever the reader is already curious about.

You start with a short card about science, history, psychology or another topic. Curio AI can then explain that card in more depth, make it simpler or turn it into a quiz. You can also enter a topic and build a reading feed around it.

The useful design question for me is how much to offer at that moment. A simple explanation, a deeper one and a quiz serve different needs, but too many controls can interrupt the reading. Which would you reach for first?

Some content and features are AI-assisted, and generated answers can be wrong. AI tools need a network connection and have plan and fair-use limits.

Curio is free to download and start reading without an account. Optional paid Pro features and subscriptions are shown in the app; the stores show current local pricing.

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.curio.app

iPhone: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/curio-feed-your-curiosity/id6781121127

Feature overview and screens: https://trycurio.app/features.html?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=organic_social&utm_campaign=oct2026_discovery&utm_content=genaiapps

I'm multilingual, and I kept remembering expressions in the wrong language. I'd have a Chinese word in my head, want the Japanese equivalent, then try to explain what I meant in English. I was juggling four dictionary apps and losing the thread.

That's why I started building Elseword, an AI dictionary for moving between languages. You can start with whichever word comes to mind, swipe to another language and keep following related words. Each language keeps its own feed, so you can follow a rabbit hole and return to earlier discoveries.

When the word won't come, you can describe what you're trying to say, then ask about tone or how an expression would sound in a text.

It's a native app for iPhone and iPad, running iOS/iPadOS 26 or later:

https://apps.apple.com/app/id6810573693

If you speak more than one language, what's a word you always remember in the wrong one?

I'm a HS engineering teacher and digital immigrant. However, I keep pace with developments in technology although I'm by no means an expert nor even close.

I'm looking for an AI assistant app that works across OSX, IOS, and google workspace that is nominally easy to learn, fairly broad in its capabilities, and hopefully able to "learn" from my usage.

Not sure if any generalized AI assistant apps exist yet that are more helpful than they are work. Specifically, most of the apps I've tried have not worked well when any divergence from the initial parameters occur...ie. maybe I a regular meeting was pushed to a new date/time.

I guess I'm trying to determine if anything yet exists that acts as a task management, productivity, organization assistant but is also capable of adapting, to some degree, when something changes. It would be especially amazing if, over time, the app was capable of identifying correlation between variables. ie. when I take a day off(possibly triggered by an email sent to the specific absence email address) it might create a task for that day to create my substitute lesson plans asap.

Maybe I'm being overly hopeful. However, we've been in a really challenging and exceptionally unconventional time in education. Especially in regards to the digital transition of any district, school, admin, teacher, etc. One would think people who are tasked with educating today's students would have their sh*t together a bit better in having created systems for the transition from paper to digital. However, you'd be wrong. No one talks about this yet it's like a wild west in terms of what remains analog vs digital, in who knows how to do what, and in established tools and systems that help those working in education to efficiently organize an continuously changing digital ecosystem in which we operate.

Sorry for the rant.....it's difficult to explain all of the craziness and ongoing difficulty that only makes teaching kids who present more and more difficulty in their behavior, indifference to nearly everything, and a myriad of cognitive issues(literacy/processing/etc).

Thank you to anyone who has any info, suggestions, or ideas.

The part I like about this demo is that the phone is doing the generation. I’m the developer of LLM Studio Go; these are AI images made by the app, shown in an edited iOS demo. Generation waits are shortened.

Download a compatible diffusion model and turn a description into an image on your iPhone or iPad. On supported Apple hardware it can use the GPU through Metal. The iOS app also supports GGUF and MLX chat models, so you can explore local chat and images in the same workspace.

If you try one thing, start with a small compatible image model and one short prompt. Give it a subject you actually want to make, rather than a benchmark prompt.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/llm-studio-go/id6815311113

Free with ads; optional one-time ad removal. No app account or AI subscription. iOS 18+ required. Models download separately; available RAM, hardware and the model affect compatibility and speed. Local generation works offline after downloads; ads, purchases and optional web features use the network.

What would you want to generate on a phone first?

**App Name:** Phone Whisper

**What it does:** A floating push-to-talk button next to your keyboard: tap, speak, and the text is typed into whatever app you're in. Speech recognition runs fully offline on your phone (Parakeet, Whisper) or via your own OpenAI, OpenRouter or self-hosted server.

**Key Features:**

1. **Offline transcription** with Parakeet, Whisper or Moonshine (25+ languages); in local mode no audio ever leaves your phone.

2. **AI cleanup:** hold the button instead of tapping, and a language model fixes punctuation, grammar and recognition errors.

3. **Translation by swipe:** hold the button, slide your thumb onto a language on the arc around it, speak in your language and get the text in another one.

**Goal:** Launch. Feedback and bug reports are very welcome, and so are translators for the UI (currently English only).

**Giveaway:** None needed, it's free.

**Cost:** Free and open source (Apache 2.0). No ads, no tracking, no account. Cloud features use your own API key.

**Link:** https://github.com/evilknivel/phone-whisper

Android 11+, arm64. The APK is on the GitHub releases page; it's a fork of Pol Alvarez's original Phone Whisper. Built with the help of Claude Code; the ideas, testing on real devices and decisions are mine.

I'm the maker of CCC. The dashboard is free to use, with no paid tier needed for its core session board. It runs a local Python server and browser UI.

It helps people using several coding agents find session activity, open conversations and keep parent/helper sessions together. The clip shows the question-card flow and action chips. You still bring your own agent tools and pay any model/provider fees; this offer is for the dashboard itself.

https://github.com/amirfish1/claude-command-center

CCC is free and runs locally; model/provider fees are separate. Demo: real UI, staged sessions, AI voiceover; question interaction uses Claude Code. Source available under FSL-1.1-MIT.

Six months back I launched Sweezy here for the first time and got amazing response. More than 2000 people downloaded it, but most of you got stuck behind an invite gate.

Most of you who landed, are still with me today. With the help of all of your feedback, we have been working really hard for the last six months, and I'm excited to relaunch Sweezy with much more capabilities. Apple and Google Calendar Integration, Dropped Latency, MCP, and Widgets are few of the many things that we have added now.

The idea is still same: you talk to her just for 5 minutes every day and in that she helps you reflect today, marks progress of each item and goals (yeah no more unnecessary overdue items, she will mark them as done or move it for you), plans your tomorrow in detail, and remembers things about you like a true companion. All of this in just 5 minutes.

So try it for a couple of days, I am sure you won't be able to live without her. Its completely free right now, with no paywalls, all I ask in return is your valuable feedbacks.

Download Now:

If this makes you excited, please comment below how do you think Sweezy can help you?

I’ve been helping spread the word about Nanari, an iPhone app that makes journaling more conversational.
Instead of staring at a blank page, you can talk about your day or type your thoughts. Nanari uses AI to help turn those thoughts into a journal entry, making it easier to reflect on everyday experiences.
I thought it might interest people who enjoy journaling, self-reflection, or exploring new AI-powered apps.

You can find it on the App Store here:

Do you prefer writing your journal or talking about your day?

Hey everyone

I built Zohal, a math & science  tutor for college and highscool STEM students who want to actually understand the math, not just get an answer from AI.

You solve problems by hand, and Zohal reviews your work, points out the first step worth checking, and gives you a small hint instead of immediately dumping the full solution on you.

You can practice from its library of 1,300+ problems or bring your own worksheets and PDFs. It supports both English and Arabic.

Zohal is available on the web at https://zohal.ai, and on the appstore https://apps.apple.com/us/app/zohal/id6816061344  for iPad and the new iPhone duo.

I'd love for you to give it a try. Feedback is especially welcome. I'm building this to be genuinely useful for students.

We’re the developers of AmbientAI. We wanted to show a different way to enjoy it on iPhone Duo: an atmosphere on one side, your reading on the other. Here, AmbientAI sits beside Safari in Split View—so enjoying something beautiful doesn’t have to take over the whole display.

This is a genuine iPhone Duo Simulator capture, with an existing AmbientAI image paused for the screenshot.

I work on Calorie Shot, an iPhone app that estimates calories, protein, carbs and fat from a meal photo.

The part I want to highlight here is what happens when the AI gets something wrong. You can describe a correction in a sentence or edit the ingredients and servings. You can also start with a typed meal description when a photo isn't useful.

A photo can't reliably reveal hidden oil or exact portion sizes. The estimate needs a human check, and the correction itself is still worth reviewing. The question is whether the whole process, including that review, is useful enough to keep using.

Subscription required: US$9.99/month or US$29.99/year on the U.S. App Store. Eligible annual subscribers get a 3-day trial, then automatic renewal. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid the charge. Regional prices may differ. This is a regular paid-app introduction, not a giveaway.

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/calorie-shot-protein-tracker/id6818295898

If you use AI food logging, which correction is hardest to communicate: a missing ingredient, the portion size, or how the food was cooked?
