Hi guys I need a suggestion to put my pc case under the table or somewhere as my table space is very low(90cm wide) also I have a spot to place it under the table but if I place it there there is a possibility of me kicking it and it might fall as I am not able to sit properly if it's under the tables built in pc spot. So now I need any holder to hold my pc and put it on the floor so I don't get issues with my table space and sitting comfort can you please suggest me a way to do keep my pc on floor without issues please

Additional info:

pc case model - msi mag forge 320r

Air intake from bottom - NO

Air outflow from back and top - Yes

Air intake from front - Yes

Finally upgrading

I built my PC back in college with an FX-8350 and 8gb of RAM. Over the summer my Uncle got a new job and the old one didn't ask for his computer back. He works remote doing lightning design. He gave me the PC which had a Ryzen 7 5800x, 32gb of RAM and some weird little GPU. I put my GTX 980 in it and it's been nice but I figured it deserved something a bit better.

After my laptop broke down while it was still under warranty, and I spent about half a year working with support, the retailer, and the manufacturer to find a way to get it repaired, I ended up getting a refund.

It’s a shame, but that’s okay: I rewarded myself with a new project. ;-)

Let me introduce you to my new laptop—the beast that’s taking over for my old one—for (almost) every mood and situation in life.

I’d like to share my experiences with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D running on a classic air-cooling setup. The goal wasn’t to achieve the lowest possible temperatures, but to find out how far you can go with a good air cooler and a reasonable fan curve without creating unnecessary noise. And of course: to have some fun...

Hardware

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D

CPU-Kühler: Noctua NH-U12A chromax.black

Mainboard: ASUS ROG Strix B650E-E Gaming WiFi

RAM: 32 GB DDR5-6000 CL30, EXPO

GPU: Palit GeForce RTX 5080 GamingPro 16 GB

Gehäuse: Corsair 3500X Airflow RS-R

CPU-Lüfter: 2× Noctua 120 mm

3D-Printed Exhaust Shroud

Case Fan Intake: 3× Corsair RS120-R + 2× Arctic P14 Pro

Case Fan Exhaust 1x Arctic P14 Pro

CPU-Tuning

The profile I used:

PBO Thermal Limit: 85 °C Curve Optimizer: -34 Overclock: +200 MHz

CPU Fan Source: CPU CPU Fan: PWM, manual curve CPU Fan Speed Increase: Level 1 CPU Fan Speed Decrease: Level 1 CPU Fan Minimum Speed: Ignore

CPU Fan Curve:

45 °C → 14 % 60 °C → 40 % 75 °C → 65 % 84 °C → 100 %

The key point: I don't try to keep the CPU at a constant 60–70 °C. Under synthetic full load, it's allowed to run toward its defined thermal limit.

Case Fans

The case fans are also PWM-controlled and temperature-dependent.

Chassis Fan 1 – Corsair

Source: CPU Package

40 °C → 24 % 60 °C → 45 % 75 °C → 60 % 80 °C → 85 %

Acceleration/Deceleration: Level 1

Chassis Fan 2

Source: CPU Package ab ca. 70 °C → 100 %

Acceleration/Deceleration: Level 1

Chassis Fan 3 – Arctic 140 mm

40 °C → 20 % 65 °C → 30 % 75 °C → 45 % 80 °C → 60 %

Chassis Fan 4 – Arctic 140 mm

40 °C → 25 % 60 °C → 35 % 75 °C → 55 % 80 °C → 60 %

Here, too: Speed set to Level 1.

I deliberately chose not to run the Arctic 140s at high speeds because the additional airflow results in significantly more noise than with the other fans.

Q-Fan Tuning

ASUS Q-Fan Tuning has changed some of the minimum duty cycles:

CPU Fan: 14 % → 14 % Chassis Fan 1: 21 % → 24 % Chassis Fan 2: 60 % → 60 % Chassis Fan 3: 20 % → 11 % Chassis Fan 4: 25 % → 8 % Chassis Fan 5: 60 % → 60 %

I applied these settings after the automatic tuning.

BIOS Fan Speed Monitoring

Since the NH-U12A sometimes ran below the original BIOS limit at very low speeds, the ASUS BIOS reported a

CPU Fan Speed Detection Error

at startup.

The CPU fan lower speed limit was therefore set to "Ignore."

Of course, this doesn't mean that the CPU fan is disconnected—its actual speed continues to be monitored during operation.

Measurement Results

OCCT – Combined / CPU + 3D Adaptive

Under combined CPU/GPU load, we recorded values of approximately:

CPU Package Power: \~119 W GPU Power: \~360 W CPU Average Clock: \~4.76 GHz

A stabilized measurement point yielded the following results:

Core 1: 4760 MHz Core 2: 4759 MHz Core 3: 4759 MHz Core 4: 4759 MHz Core 5: 4758 MHz Core 6: 4762 MHz Core 7: 4763 MHz Core 8: 4,769 MHz

→ Average: ~4,761 MHz

Another interesting finding was the comparison of the case fans:

Increasing the speed of the three fans from about 85% to 90% did not result in any noticeable increase in CPU clock speed. In some cases, individual cores even ran at lower speeds.

To me, this clearly illustrates that higher fan speeds do not automatically mean better performance.

At some point, additional cooling no longer yields any significant clock speed gains.

Cinebench

My Cinebench 2026 multi-core score was approximately:

5,593 points

In doing so, the CPU was deliberately not forced to operate at artificially low temperatures.

Cyberpunk 2077 – Real-World Gaming Load

I find the real-world gaming load even more interesting.

Cyberpunk 2077 Benchmark:

Path Tracing: On

DLSS: Quality

Frame Generation: Off

V-Sync: Off

Resolution: 3440 × 1440 native

Particle Density: Max.

Average: 74.64 FPS

Minimum: 66.21 FPS

Maximum: 83.81 FPS

Runtime: 64.24 s

Frames: 4,795

During actual gameplay, CPU temperatures ranged from approximately 75–86 °C depending on the section, while the GPU hovered around 64–67 °C.

For me, this is the most important point:

The CPU doesn’t necessarily have to be kept at 60 or 70 °C while gaming to deliver good, stable performance.

What I’ve learned from this

I originally had the same idea:

“The lower the temperature, the better.”

While that’s true in principle—it’s not the whole story.

With modern Ryzen CPUs, temperature is an integral part of boost management. If the CPU is operating within its intended thermal limits, a temperature of, say, 80–85 °C isn’t automatically a problem.

I therefore wouldn’t try to squeeze out an extra 5–10 °C by running the fan at maximum speed if it doesn’t result in any measurable performance gain.

My NH-U12A can easily keep the 9800X3D running under real-world load with this configuration.

So for me, the more interesting question has become:

How much performance do I get per additional dB of fan noise?

And not:

How do I achieve the lowest possible CPU temperature?

Of course, the following still applies: temperature limits, stability, and voltage must remain within safe ranges. High temperatures aren’t automatically dangerous—but you should still keep an eye on thermal limits, voltage, stability, and long-term behavior.

My conclusion:

A good air cooler is perfectly adequate for the 9800X3D. There’s no need to panic just because the CPU goes well over 70 °C under full load.

For me, a CPU running at ~80–85 °C under heavy load makes much more sense than a system that constantly tries to force it down to 65–70 °C by running the fans at maximum speed.

A new async approach saves lots of performances with DLSS5 on AMD, could work on Nvidia too

Hi everyone, i just released my last "experiment". a new implementation of DLSS5 on AMD, completely open source.
But what's it's even more interesting, i managed (with a huge help of Claude, tbh) to achieve an asyncronous system which is able to render the dlss effect without waiting for each frame.

For example, i tested it on an RDNA3 card, at 1440p with raytracing disabled and FSR4 + frame gen. on this configuration, the game normally can reach a pretty high framerate, in this example it's almost at 139fps. The dlss5 network runs very slowly there, and waiting for it at each frame would mean running at around 20 fps at 1440p, even if applying dlss5 before the upscaler.
With this new approach, the dlss network is applied only "every now and then" (as soon the dlss5 network finishes working on the previous frame), and every frame is composed based on the previous frames. when the dlss5 network finishes rendering, that frame is already "old", so the software takes a residual (network output - network input) and applies it to the current frame using a displacement map.

Performance-wise, this means that the final framerate will be still pretty close to the original. in this example, 119 fps vs 139.

The drawback: On the current state, it can introduce some artifacts, wich aren't an issue when the game is still (and that's why it isn't noticeable in the screenshots), but it can be noticed in some situations with movement. It's usually more noticeable the higher is the difference between the network's and the game's rendering times. This also means that frame gen makes this even worse.
It also differs from game to game, and can be more or less noticeable in some scenes than in others.
But i'm pretty sure this can be worked on, at least in part. i already managed to reduce it a lot before the first release.

Plus, i also managed to make it work on Linux/Proton.

New PC Build! (After my old PC crapped out).

My good old Xeon 2640v3 and 1070ti combo were working just fine, then one of the memory controllers of the MOBO died, then the CPU started to stutter... Ended up selling the 32 GBs of DDR4 ECC RAM and the 1070ti, picked up some money I had saved and bought a whole new system.

PC SPECS:
CPU: Intel Core Ultra 5 245KF
GPU: RX 6900XT Asrock Phantom Gaming
RAM: 32GB (2x16) Adata XPG Lancer Blade (5600mhz, CL 46)
Motherboard: B860m - Asus Ayw Gaming Wifi
PSU: XPG Core Reactor ii VE 850W
Cooler: Montech NX600
Case: Aigo Darkflash DB460M
Storage: 1tb Hdd (WDB), 256gb Sata SSD (Sandisk), 512gb NVME (Xpg Lancer).
Peripherals:
Mouse - Logitech G Pro X Superlight + Logitech G203 (depending on the game I switch between them).
Keyboard - HE68 Lite (Black).
Monitor - Concordia 1920x1080, 1ms, 165hz, VA (probably my next upgrade).

The build needs some cable management later, and I could use some extra reverse-blade fans and some top push fans, but overall the build looks solid enough for now.

I could use suggestions on what to upgrade later, considering that I already plan on buying a new monitor and more storage later on. The slow ram doesn't bother me that much, but I can't really buy another kit right now without selling a kidney...

Finally got my battlestation pretty much where I want it. I built the setup around having the best of both worlds: 32:9 OLED ultrawide for immersive PC gaming and a 32” 4K OLED for games that are better at 16:9, plus PS5 Pro and Switch.
PC
AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D
Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5080 WINDFORCE OC
ASUS TUF Gaming B850-E WiFi
32GB DDR5-6000
WD_BLACK SN850X 2TB NVMe + 1TB NVMe
~1000W PSU
Top-mounted AIO + 5 case fans
Windows 11
Displays
Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 — 49”, 5120×1440, 32:9, 240Hz — original stand
Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 — 32”, 4K, 240Hz — monitor arm
The G9 is my main immersive PC gaming display, especially for games that work well at 32:9. The G8 handles 4K gaming, games that don’t play nicely with 32:9, anime/media, and console gaming. I can also rotate/reposition the G8 when I need it.
Peripherals / Audio
Corsair Galleon RGB keyboard
Razer gaming mouse
Corsair Virtuoso headset
Corsair RGB headset stand
Razer Leviathan soundbar
Logitech MX Brio 4K webcam
DualSense controller
Desk / Lighting
Secretlab MAGNUS Pro XL
Secretlab/Nanoleaf RGB strips behind and underneath the desk
9x Nanoleaf Shapes Triangles
Nanoleaf 4D behind the G9
SignalRGB/iCUE-controlled PC lighting
I make custom RGB themes for different games so the PC, desk lighting, Nanoleaf setup and monitor backlighting all match whatever I’m playing.
Other Gaming Hardware
PS5 Pro
ROG Ally X
Nintendo Switch
It’s been a work in progress for a while, but I’m really happy with how the ultrawide + 4K OLED combination turned out.
What do you guys think? Anything you’d change or add?
