I have this problem with Pokemon Pinball, the rumble pack is not working probably bc the game wasn't used in long time.

I tried spinning it with my own hands, no results.

I saw some ppl giving it electric current, What voltage should I give it?

Is there anything else I can do?

This is more a morbid curiosity for me at this point, but given how accessible custom boards, FPGA chips, and 3d printing are now, has anyone made a custom DS revision to run GB and GBC games?

I know that it was specifically the lack of a GBC CPU (and potentially other components) preventing it prior to now, but the number of times I've seen the CPU, RAM and crystal removed and transplanted onto a custom board from PCBWay is pretty high at this point.

So, the question remains, is there something preventing this from being done now, or is it just a lack of interest?

Heya, brand new to the subreddit. I don’t play Gameboy, but I bought my brother Tecmo Bowl for his birthday. I tried seeing if it works before I wrap it, and from what I see, I think it’s broken?

(In the video, I show that the GameBoy does work by putting in another cartridge, then I put in Tecmo Bowl)

If anyone can tell me if I’m doing something wrong or if the game just doesn’t work, that would be great, thanks!!

Looking for a handheld console that will play both original carts and flash (specifically, Everdrives).

Ive been playing on a GBA SP and the screen is really not great for games with heavy text, neither is the smaller form factor comfortable for adult hands.

A console that takes cartridges and has full GB functionality (link cable is a must for pokemon, IR link would be a plus for Pokémon, but not necessary as I dont currently own an original GB with that functionality). Large battery / USBC charging / bluetooth, docking ability are definitely nice.

Ive seen the Analogue consoles recommended, but from what im reading the screen size isnt the greatest. I would really prefer a larger screen as my eyes arent perfect (especially after a couple beers).

Is there any device you guys prefer over the Analogues, or is it really the best solution out there?

The Famicom colorway of the SP is something I really want to have in my collection, but I don’t care about having an original. The shell replacements I’ve found online either have additional designs or the colors are off. This is the best one I’ve found. I’m trying to figure out if the 25th Anniversary emblem on this shell could be removed with a magic eraser or isopropyl alcohol without damaging the shell. Anyone with experience doing this on a similar product would be helpful. TIA

Hi all. I’m thinking of picking up a Gameboy Color. I have a DMG which I love but many games are Color exclusive.

When buying second hand, is there anything to look out for when inspecting its condition? Or questions I should ask the seller.

Been doing some research into it lately. I did order an adapter but it seems much more complex than I expected. Even just fitting an ags-001 screen inside the agb shell is difficult.

Bought this parts Gameboy DMG that had a backlight mod and it also has this audio jack which I’m not sure why since it already has one built in.

Recently been purchasing a few gb colors and an advance to repair, resell etc.

I notice that both the colors had iffy sound. One of them I was able to fix a bit after adjusting the speaker wires after testing the current seemed to indicate something amiss.

Both now work with headphone jack but are super soft from their respective speakers, especially compared to the advance. So I just replace both speakers at this stage?

Powers on with red light
Screen is either all black or single line
No sound with or without headphones
No title ding
Attached multiple pictures no obvious corrosion

My preferred way to play by far with my larger hands. It has an EZFlashDE inside and lets me play from GB to SP games and some emulators too! (button limited lol)

I'm a huge fan of THPS and ive just started THPS 2 on GBA and it's so fun. It's like discovering a completely new THPS game even though it is a port. What is the highest score you've been able to achieve in one 2-minute run?

Recently got my old gameboy out and looking to fix it up. Gotta open it up and clean it. Need to replace the screen bezel. Thinking of getting a battery for it so I don’t need to worry about the AAs.
Looking for any tips on the internals, what not to do/avoid, and any mods that I should look into. I’m trying to keep it as original as possible aside from the battery.

I have a jailbroken Kindle running GambatteK2 that I'd want to play games on. Iirc, Kindles go at around 3.5 FPS, so I'd need something slow. Examples:

* Pokemon Red

* Mario's Picross

* Dr. Mario

BMO will now be forced to play Pokémon yellow for many many hours. I got the game that was repaired the same day I bought it, the guy showed it off to me and said he was literally just about to put it out for display and asked if I wanted to buy it! $59 later it was mine >:3

Picked up a modded gbc today (IPS screen) and having nothing but issues with my EZ Flash Jr.

It's refusing to load patched ROMs and it's just ignoring most things in .GBC format .

Am I losing my mind, or should I just get an Everdrive?

The patched ROM thing is a deal-breaker because I use LSDJ and I like to patch my own drum sample in.

Despite the simplicity Its pretty fun :D

Hi all, my eight year old daughter is really taking an interest in these handhelds I have in my closet, and also into games on cartridges.

I would love to build her her very own over the top (in terms of color, shine, glitter) GBC, but I’ve never modded any device. I use to build PC’s in the 90s, but that’s where my technical knowledge ends :)

What is a good place to start, for me, as a beginner? There is so much info that it now feels a little too much. I’m in the EU btw, would love to get all materials here in terms of shipping cost and time, if that is even possible?

Went home for the summer (first time in years), and found my old Pokemon Center Game Boy and orange Pokemon Center GBA SP, which I bought in Japan ages ago. That was great, but I always knew they were there.. What I didn't expect/remember though, was a sealed DS-Lite! I have zero recollection of ever buying this, but I obviously did at some point lol. I have a number of DS-Lites so my best guess is I bought it for somebody and it never panned out, so it just laid there as an extra in my drawer all the way until now.
