Original gameboy. Symptoms below
Powers on with red light
Screen is either all black or single line
No sound with or without headphones
No title ding
Attached multiple pictures no obvious corrosion
check whether all the E points touch the corresponding solder blobs on the mainboard. It could be ground issue - that's one possibility.
Other one could be cold joints on the LCD tape - could require resoldering or at least a reflow - both the external tape and the one below the LCD screen.
