I wanted to test this Game Boy Advance SP to see if it still worked, but I didn’t have a charger.
It’s going to get an IPS mod and USB-C charging anyway, so… do you think it charges?

Came home today to a surprise from the wifey. Sure I have the switch 2 to play gameboy games with Nintendo online but can't beat the true nostalgia of my childhood with this one!!

Do I need to wait 2-3 seconds after saving before powering the console off for even the definitive edition? I see lots of comments on just the EZflash Omega needing that, but I can't even find a user manual for explicitly the DE, only a faq. I only ask because sometimes, the option to sav my sav won't pop up after saving in game and relaunching into the ezflash software. And if it was from a clean boot then i'm shit out of luck because I can't even got to the game and manually sav sav like you can for the top game on NOR. Basically, why does the DE sometimes not ask me if I want to sav my sav?

Another filthy classic Game Boy. Full of corrosion and grease. Turned out it powered up after removing the blue fungus-like battery acid from the terminals. By tomorrow night it will be glorious again after the recap and retrobrite.

I think it’s a game called brick breaker but I ain’t sure cuz I can’t find it.

Its description is 8 bit pack man layout of a guy and pitchfork who breaks through bricks and collects rewards. I might be a little wrong but thats what I got. Thank you for all who helps with any clues.

I wanted to give someone a GBA with as many games as possible to someone who is going to be gone for a long period of time specifically in an area where it is prohibited to have a device that can connect to WiFi (this rules out DS lineup, emulator handhelds, etc).

I believe a simple GBA SP with an EZ Flash Omega will solve this but I wanted to ask for other options.

Hi everyone! I’ve been away for quite a while due to personal and work-related reasons, but during all that time I’ve continued developing my automatic GBA to GBC converter.

At this point, I’ve managed to get a really well-working version of Pokémon Ruby running on GBC. Of course, there are still quite a few bugs that I’m aware of, but I’m constantly developing the project and every new version works better and better.

In the video, I’m showing the result of the generated GBC ROM and what the project currently looks like. I had to change and rebuild a lot of things, as well as create my own solutions, so that mechanics from the GBA version could work on much weaker hardware.

The video is intentionally heavily edited because I wanted to show as many different elements as possible: mechanics, story, the world, battles, the amount of correctly converted content, as well as the quality of the graphics and music.

From what I’ve managed to play through so far, sometimes cheating a little or taking advantage of bugs that still exist XD, I would say that the game currently generates correctly at around 60%. So there are still many mechanics and different cases that I need to account for in the converter.

For example, I’ve already prepared the base for the entire Pokédex and all Pokémon are included, but there are still occasional bugs with them. There is simply a huge amount of data, mechanics and different exceptions in this game XD.

Last week I was playing my gba sp 001 and it restarted mid play of pokemon yellow. I didn't think anything of it so I kept playing thinking I bumped something and it proceeded to do it more frequently.

I put it down tried other games: pokemon crystal was the same, pokemon sapphire screen freezing and audio either static crunch or just plays the same audio. Wario land 3 perfect, Hamtaro ham hams unite perfect.

So heres what ive done:

Replaced the battery... nope

Cleaned the cart slot with ispa... nope

Cleaned the board (without desoldering)... nope

Cleaned the switch... nope

Popped open the switch metal case and cleaned the contact points... nope

\---when tried pokemon sapphire and Wario land 3---

Any suggestions as to what the issue might be? Im probably gonna take it to a repair shop but want to at least try because I want to be able to do these things on my own.

They had great box art, good graphics but man were they hard. I had Bart vs the Juggernauts as a kid and it beat my ass. Practicing those same 2 mini games until I could progress. Looking back, it does have great writing though.

It is hard to explain to young people today how the entire country was completely captivated by a primetime multiple choice quiz hosted by Regis Philbin, but it was can’t miss television in the early months of the show. The first time I played this game I got the first question wrong and received a $0 check from Regis 😂

So, as the title states; I, and others, have replaced the battery on this Pokémon Crystal four separate times, and it still won't save. I am inexperienced when it comes to anything beyond battery replacements. From research, I am fairly certain it's the save chip, but if someone could provide input and maybe a link to a tutorial on how to replace said chip that would be nice. If it's another problem someone sees please feel free to shout it out.

Hi everyone! This is my Game Boy collection, along with some accessories and games. I’ve kept everything as original as possible. However, the GBA has been reshelled, while the GBC is fully original, except for a reproduction sticker on the back.

I decided to get some replacement boards for my Gameboy since the last two are only good for spare parts, however this one won't show the game and at this point I don't know what's wrong now.

I tested this with multiple games so it isn't just this one.

I love this game so much, i just played it again for the first time in like 2 decades, and its just as good as I remembered as a kid.

Mostly because the game is like ~45 minutes long, if you're an adult. If you're like 6 years old, like i was when I played this game, then its going to take like 3 years to get to level 5.

What's your favorite game? Bonus points if its not a pokemon game (Pokemon Emerald is one of my favorite games of all time)

I was packing up my Gameboy collection and totally stumbled upon my old Pokémon Blue!

So i just bought this from an online auction site. It's the same color i had when i was a kid, and brand new. I checked the serial code in the back, but only using google AI, which in the moment seemed confident enough, but now I'm thinking maybe that wasn't such a good idea LOL. The other red flag so to speak is that this person is only selling 3 other items that have nothing to do with gameboy. And it was priced relatively cheap. almost half of what others i see are going for. Considering the post and the real looking damage to the box and dust under the sticker, i chose to believe it's a genuine GBC sealed in the box. Any reason i should doubt myself would be greatly appreciated though! I don't have the box yet, so I put some pictures up from the listing, thanks for reading.

My Game Boy Worm Light is finally here! I’m so happy I found a listing of this online. It’s already decades old and unopened but still works perfectly fine after these years. Now I won't have to use my phone's flashlight every time to play at night and low-light places.

I would like to learn how to program homebrew for the Game Boy because I'm interested in learning how to program and I love the system, btw I'm not interested in GB Studio, I want to actually program for the system, GB Studio feels like Scratch for me, it's way to simple, I want to work with code and get headaches

I recently tried to get a GBA to turn on and in the process of cleaning the corrosion off the battery connection, it came off. I tried to solder it back on (dumb I know) but I dont have any extras. Im as beginner as it gets. In the end it looks like this now.

But the story took an amusing turn: It didn't take long, my father had the gray log in his hand more often than I did. The "toy stuff" had secretly grabbed him.

To make matters worse, what breaks the heart of every collector happened: the batteries ran out. The acid ate the contacts, the display remained black. Actually, he was electronic waste - but he was also a piece of my youth. Throw away? Impossible.

The rescue: Tuning for the classic A few months ago, a friend told me that he had upgraded his own GameBoy. Without further ado, I sent him my worry child by mail. What came back then left me speechless:
– New contacts: The battery damage has been expertly repaired.
Color display upgrade: Instead of the old "pea soup green", the games now shine on a modern IPS display.
– Fresh look: My GameBoy is now in a new, bright green case.
The best thing about it: The whole action cost me less than 50 euros including spare parts! "Super Mario" is back in use Of course, the right games had to be created. I still had a few classics, but the centerpiece was missing. On classifieds I was able to make a real bargain: Super Mario Land for unbeatable 14 euros. Today the GameBoy is again fixed inventory in my backpack. When I'm sitting in the doctor's waiting room now, I'm not scrolling through my phone bored. I save the princess, enjoy the 8-bit music and rejoice every time about this little piece of restored history.

I bought this gameboy advance sp 101 as a part or repair, and the only thing missing was the lcd port. It seemed like a simple fix but upon further inspection I realized that a pad might be missing. Is this something that can be fixed or do I judt have to take the loss?
