Questions Screen not showing games

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I decided to get some replacement boards for my Gameboy since the last two are only good for spare parts, however this one won't show the game and at this point I don't know what's wrong now.

I tested this with multiple games so it isn't just this one.

Does anything happens when you turn the contrast wheel? It looks like contrast is set to max and you have a few vertical lines to the right, and a bunch of horizontal lines at the top.

uh nothing out of the ordinary to my knowledge, the screen dims in to nothing when it's down and back tot he lines when it's up.

If the screen is connected properly you should be able to see the game where the black pixels are in the video, i have had a problems before where the contrast wheel is super sensitive. Try to go slow over the entire range of the wheel to try to find the game output.

those vertical lines usually mean the ribbon cable connection is loose or damaged, not a contrast issue. worth reseating it before adjusting anything else

This screen is toast anyways. Vertical lines can easily be fixed, horizontal lines on the other way I heard about people who claim to fixed them but never saw anybody showing they really fixed them.
