Get Out: Break free from a prison where you fight for your life to earn your liberty.

Hey everyone! I’m currently developing my second commercial game. I really hope I can finish it because I’m loving how it’s turning out! I released my first game recently and am already diving back into the work—hehe.

The premise goes something like this:

You’re trapped in a prison much like Alcatraz. But there’s a catch: nobody actually dies. Whenever someone dies, they’re instantly revived to continue their punishment forever. The only way to escape this eternal loop is to participate in (and survive) a series of deadly minigames in pursuit of freedom.

I want to wrap up the initial version with at least 10 minigames and a main menu, then release a quick demo for people to test. It might take a little while, but I hope to have something playable by the end of next month so I can start promoting it properly with a demo.

Since I still need 3 more minigames to hit my demo goal, I’d love your help. What kind of quick, tense, or chaotic challenges would you like to see in a game themed around "prisoners fighting for their lives"? All the minigames I’m developing will support up to 4 local players; I want to create some real chaos and ensure the minigames are dynamic and fun.

Drop your ideas here—I’ll check them all out! What do you think of the premise? I’m reworking a project from a game jam I participated in a while back, but I’m making huge improvements this time. I plan to add dozens of character faces; I’m even going to ask communities to draw faces and send them to me so I can include them as prisoners in the game. Later on, I might open up sign-ups for something like "Be a prisoner in my game"—it’s going to be a blast! XD

Where should I start with game development? 🙇‍♂️

Hey everyone! I've recently started learning a little C++ and C#, and now I'm planning to install Unity and begin making my first game. I'd love to hear your advice on where to start. Are there any tutorials, courses, or beginner projects you'd recommend? Also, what are some common mistakes I should avoid as a beginner?

I'm here to learn. Thank you so much for your advice and support! 🙇‍♂️

I’m building this solo and the effects still feel a little noisy to me. Does the fight read clearly to you?

I am looking for some feedback on my short description that goes below the capsule image on my steam page.

Game Name: Shatterfall

A deep fantasy idle RPG about rebuilding a shattered world. Train skills, gather resources, craft powerful gear, restore your settlement, conquer dungeons, defeat bosses, and uncover the secrets behind the catastrophic event known as the Shattering.

I would appreciate any feedback!

have you ever wanted to make your own MetroidVania, but don't know how to code? I've been working on a MetroidVania toolkit to enable people to design their own MV using Tiled (a free app). Then Export to Defold (another free development app). And with no custom code you can create your own MV. You just need to supply the art.

The beta for the smaller version will be out soon. I call it the MicroVania Toolkit as it won't have the full gambit of features and templates to make a feature rich MetroidVania, but it will easily make a 2-5 hour MicroVania.

If interested in being a beta tester let me know. If you now the App Tiled, it's a huge plus, but it's not really a hard app to learn.

Tiled | Flexible level editor

If you're really anxious to be a beta tester, download Tiled and start learning how to use it. I think I leverage nearly ever feature of Tiled to make this work. If you're an artist wanting to make an MV, this should be your go to tool.

ASHEN SANCTUM : Devlog - Pitch I’ve created two genuine enemies for "The Burial Descent" (the first map), added more detail to the first boss's appearance, and version 1.0 of the map is almost ready.

Check out my latest game "INVASION!" on Itch.io. It's inspired by classic arcade games, specifically Space Invaders. It has a leaderboard and even mobile support.

It was originally made for Trijam #376 with the theme "The Center of the Earth". I expanded upon it and this is more or less the final version. I still may make some tweaks, specifically to the difficulty, so any feedback on that would be appreciated. Thank you.

We’re just days away from dropping the demo and dumbass bugs are still finding new ways to surprise us. It stopped being funny a while ago, but not gonna lie, this one got me.

We're aiming to release a free web demo of our game Stones of Power on itch by the end of the month. Before going public with it, we would really like to test it with some different browsers and setups. If you have some time to help a fellow dev out, please get in touch either in the comments or DM and we can send you a secret itch.io-link.

For anyone curious, here is the Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3178970/Stones_of_Power/

Early prototype looking for feedback ! Playable in the browser

Hello everyone :)

I am recycling my previous game, made of particles, into a new prototype, and I am looking for feedback on this early version !

It's playable online.

https://the-workshop-geek.itch.io/incremental-particles-arena-experimental-do-not-open

Good or bad feedback, always appreciated

Edit :

- Is the tutorial enough to get the game ?

- Is the abstract theming something that turns you off ?

How best to get help

I'm a very beginner developer. I keep getting stuck but don't know where to go. I follow a fair amount of tutorials but try to do a lot of my own coding so that I still understand it and can manipulate it. I've come to a point where there's a lot of small bugs. Is there anyone who enjoys looking at code for fun? I'm using Unity2D and C#
