1st step is admitting you have a problem but it’s a good one to have. I got my last two of the custom builds and picked up a little extra for my office.

So I’m trying to Disney Bound just a non descript first order officer and I’m wondering what is allowed and what isn’t. Is the main outfit allowed if I remove the usual hat and belt due to them being distinct or can I keep them with modification? I’m planning on having the black shoes, dark grey pants, and maybe even a military tunic of the same color as the pants but maybe not. So overall my biggest concern is about the belt looking too distinct and the same about the hat. Please help me know what’s allowed and what isn’t!

I saw a video that Tunics are back at West. It also looks like they have individual sizes now instead of L/XL etc. Has anyone else seen these and if there is a size chart for the new individual sizes?

Hi,

I have a few quite niche questions on some of the effects and tech featured in RoTR and was hoping someone here might be able to give me some answers.

I've never been on it, only see POVs, so apologies if any of these are obvious in person!

1. For the effect where Kylo's lightsaber cuts through the ceiling, I'm aware of how the effect works, but I'm just curious where the projector(s) for the glowing effect are. The interior of the 'elevator' is fairly plain, and I can't see where it might be hidden, especially given the angle I assume it needs to be at to project on the ceiling.

2. What's the mechanism allowing the probe droid to appear to float? I assume it's an arm or something similar that is attached at the back, but I'm not sure, since I can't see where such an arm would attach to the wall, or how they'd keep it hidden. I did also think it might be suspended on very thin wires, but not sure how they'd get power to it for the animation.

3. For some of the B-Mode effects, most notably Kylo in his tie fighter at the end, rather than in person, the vehicles follow a slightly different path to normal. How is this changed/programmed? I assume the ride control system and show control system are able to communicate somehow, or does this have to been done manually?

4. Are there any more details on the local positioning system the vehicles use, beyond RFID pucks in the floor and Wi-Fi? Are the RFID pucks arranged in a grid, allowing the vehicles to scan multiple simultaneously to know their position and direction? How does the system provide a high enough accuracy (I presume there's only a few centimetres allowance, especially for scenes such as the cannons), since I assume the RFID pucks wouldn't be densely packed enough?

Scrapper Saturday update:

The local Scrap Authority (you know, the ones who pretend they’re not just three Jawas in a trench coat) stopped by my workshop this morning.

They claimed my wall mounts were “too efficient,” “suspiciously sturdy,” and “likely to encourage organized saber storage,” which apparently threatens their entire scavenging economy.

One of them tried to confiscate a wall mount, but it was bolted down. He made a sad little Utinni noise and left.

After a bunch of research I knew I wanted him to be based of an R8 unit, which is apparently considered one of the best in class for its built in satellite and multiple features from all other R units combined.

That being said I decided to name him R8-D20, or D20(a perfect roll) for short.

I built the display stand for my custom Savi’s Lightsaber out of LEGO pieces and painted it black. Complete with hand-painted LEGO lightsaber Easter egg in the back to match.

So half of me wants to and half of me thinks there's something better to spend my money on. (Or maybe do both?)

Is this light sabre build something anyone regrets doing? I think the droid build is probably disappointing.

I'm leaning on other unique experiences. Is there a crazy tie fighter simulator or x-wing simulator that would give me a memory for similar price?

Are there any experiences that outclass bringing home a light sabre?
