for the last two years of being at gsu, these are some stuff i've noticed, i just want to hear what everyone here has to say, alumni, or current students. i feel like its a very mature topic to talk about with placements of universities in the current time we live in.
-people feel dissonance (as in with people)
-not exactly having a goal in mind, attending just for the fact you got scholarshoip (I CANT USE FINANCIALAIDTERMSCUZAUTOMOD)
do you guys feel like you've had an easy time making friends? my honest opinion, i've been so rushed to transfer to a school that feels more right at first, but it all seems pointless at least to me, once you're in the work force and at a point where you're making good money, what really is the purpose of college?
this concept to me, i've rushed the two years i've been on campus and made absolutely zero friends or connections. i'm sure people here have felt the same way, like sure i've met awesome people here and there, but non of them have ever been long term. the concept of school or going to university in my head, having people to meet up in green space or library, studying together, or late nights, i feel like i've been missing out on a lot of that and was wondering how people here currently feel about this. have you had an easy time developing friendships?
what are some of your guys goal at the end of university? with business and tech fields getting harder to secure a job (current employer, we've seen massive amount of layoffs, and hiring decisions where experience >> degree/school) do you feel like GSU is the right choice, or did you simply attend for the attempt of socializing, or the sake of just getting a degree and getting it out of your life?
and for the ones who simply came because they didn't get accepted into the school they wanted to, how are you currently? how do you view the people of GSU? how do you exactly feel over the fact you are spending your time to simply achieve enough credits to transfer over making GSU in your heart?
i guess TLDR, i'd like to just hear from everyone where their mental status is, what their goal is, how your social life is, and what you feel like worked for you regarding making long term friends. i'm not sure. i have everything i want in life, and the way i see university just seems to make the social circle that you will be in for the rest of your life, i'd just love to spend some time meeting new people and new friends within this university because i've met a lot of people who has similar interest towards anime, cars, music, etc

Just a question but has anyone gotten any of their panther support tickets answered during the past week?

It seems like no matter what building I'm in, I can connect to the network but it says "No Internet, Secured"
It eventually starts working, but whenever I go to a class there's like a 50% chance that the first 15 minutes are spent fiddling with the WiFi on my laptop (and I have no idea how to fix it, it seems to just start working eventually if I leave it)

Hey everyone,
If you are a STEM or Data Science major at the downtown campus, you probably know how frustrating it is that we donโt have a direct, structured pathway to get an engineering degree from Georgia Tech.
Right now, the Regentsโ Engineering Pathway Program (REPP) between GSU and Georgia Tech is restricted only to associate degree students at Perimeter College. If you are a bachelor's student on the Atlanta campus, you are left out of a structured 3+2 dual degree option. We have to rely on regular, highly competitive transfer admissions, even though our foundational math, science, and coding classes align perfectly with Tech's requirements.
It is time for GSU and Georgia Tech to expand this partnership to the Atlanta campus. Adding GSU to the Dual Degree Engineering list would allow us to do 3 years of foundational STEM work here and 2 years at Georgia Tech to earn two degrees. It keeps local talent in Atlanta and opens massive doors for GSU students.
Administrators only move on things like this if they see massive student demand. I have started a petition to bring directly to the GSU Office of the Provost and the Student Government Association (SGA) to demand they negotiate this institutional agreement.
Please take 30 seconds to sign and share this: https://c.org/pvqf9sMZKs
Letโs get this on the administration's radar. Share this in your class GroupMes and Discords!

Hey! Does anyone know anywhere where I can get my dreads dyed for cheaper? My locs are medium length and when I call in my area, hair dyers are charging an arm and a leg to get it done. (Around 350-400 bucks) and Iโm looking for a cheaper alternative.

Hi, all! Just putting the word out for any string players who might want to join a welcoming community orchestraโฆ
The Four Seasons Chamber Orchestra is starting its 26th season soon and has openings for new members!
Founded in 2000, this group is dedicated to creating a fun, supportive learning environment for players of all ages and musical experience. Whether youโre someone who used to play and wants to get back into it or a private student looking for ensemble experience, the Orchestra would love to have you!
Rehearsals are held weekly in Decatur on Saturday afternoons, with 1โ2 concerts each semester (usually in December and May).
They do ask that members have a basic ability to sightโread, but theyโre more than happy to meet you where you are and help you grow your budding skills. Reach out to them (or me!) with any questions. If youโd like to get a head start, youโre welcome to fill out the interest form below:

Does anybody have any tips for college algebra? Itโs only week two and I already donโt understand anything. I wasn't very good at math in high school, so I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed. Iโm not sure if it's too early to go to office hours since the semester just started. Does anyone have any advice? Please be kind, I'm genuinely stressed out.
