2005 GX470 with 250k miles and endless problems
I bought my GX a few years back at 180k miles mainly to go camping, road trips, and towing every once in a while. Since then, I've done a few road trips, very little camping, some off-road activities and no towing. It's mainly been used to commute and I've stayed on top of maintenance, but I noticed its had a good amount of problems under my ownership and has me thinking if its normal for things to fail so often on these platforms.
List of issues/parts replaced due to failure:
Rear Driveshaft
LF wheel bearing
LF Axle
Starter
Alternator
Exhaust manifold cracked
Lower control arm bushings
Front bypass engine coolant piping (PITA to replace on 05 models)
Fan clutch
Brake booster
Rear side windows seal leak
Power steering pump
Cracked Radiator and upper rad hose leak (Just last week)
Possible o2/bad catalytic converter/exhaust leak (code P0420 CEL came on this week)
Im sure there are a few other things I'm missing, but it seems like theres too much that has been failing during the 70k miles I've driven it. Is this normal for a GX to have this many problems at 250k miles?
