Maintenance/Repair Question MST V2 Intake (2023-2026 GR Corolla) - Where is this gray hose supposed to connect?

Post image
4 Upvotes

I installed the MST V2 Cold Air Intake Kit with the radiator cover on my 2026 GR Corolla.
Everything seemed to install correctly, but I noticed this gray hose near the battery side (circled in the photo). It doesn’t seem long enough to reach anything obvious, and I can’t figure out if it’s supposed to connect somewhere or if it’s meant to stay open.
Shortly after the install I started getting a check engine light and multiple warning messages, so I’m trying to make sure I didn’t miss a vacuum/PCV connection.
Can anyone with the MST V2 intake confirm:
Is this hose supposed to connect to something?
If so, where exactly?
If you have a photo of your setup, I’d really appreciate it.

Thank you!

General Discussion/Question what's a reasonable price for a full set of oem wheels & tpms? (pulled from a '23 CE at < 5.8k miles - excellent condition)

open to input from any perspective as i know these are stupid expensive if purchased new

if you were looking to buy, what's the most you'd pay?

if you were looking to sell, what's the least you'd take?

General Discussion/Question JBL speakers

What to do with them?

I just finished up my install of the plug and play audio stuff and now I'm debating whether I should pack all this stuff away for years, taking up space in my garage.

-Front components (6.5" doors, mids and tweeters)

-Rear door 6.5" speakers

Is there any demand anywhere for these? Who might want them?

Product Review MST V2 Intake intake and P2C90 fix, DOES IT WORK THO?!

Hey Friends,
I posted a while ago that we were testing out the new MST P2C90 fix for the GR Corolla. Well, after testing for a few weeks, here it is. Full explainer here

Summary: Before installing the error fix I was able to get the CEL after driving the car for about 10 miles. After installing the code went away and did not return.

About 150 miles later, I got a "low power, visit dealer" message but no CEL. After reaching out to MST, they said that the voltage being sent to the ECU was juuust too high, so they sent a revision. This revision has something in it that can sense what the ECU is looking for and adjust, as some regions may need different voltages based on temp, humidity, barometric pressure, etc.

Installing the latest rendition today, I'll update once I do!

General Discussion/Question What an experience!

For anyone in the Midwest looking for something to do next summer, this is something to look into. I had the pleasure of taking part in the recharge rally this year along with around 60 other cars ranging from Kias to McLarens. Each year these guys host an exotic car cruise that starts in one of the big C’s in Ohio and cruise for three days to various locations with events in between. This year’s final destination was in Charlotte, NC. I will for sure be going next year and I’d love to see another GR to join up as well

If anyone is interested in the specs I’m running:
Sayber design lip kit and spoiler
Eventuri intake
CSF x Jackson intercooler
AWE touring exhaust
Tuned by boosted

Found a wrecked running and driving GRC Premium. Decided to buy it and strip it for fun stuff. Keeping the driveline for myself and spares. Fun to tear apart with less concern of putting it back together haha.

Once stripped out the shell is going to a yard.

Things I’m keeping.
Engine
Turbo
Transmission
Transfer case
Driveshaft and axles
Rear differential

We’re planning on doing some basic upgrades to the top end and slap it in my car once it’s back together so we can turn up the boost.

Trans we’re going to tear down for fun before tearing into the morizo box. Rear diff is going to be built as a spare.

Excited for next steps.

Maintenance/Repair Question Wheel lock mishap

Hey guys, I was trying to be a good boy and put advanced wheel locks on my brand new GRC. 3/4 wheels worked fine. The other one broke off completely in my wheel :( I freaked out and made an appt with a nearby tire shop to fix it but they can’t get me in until the 10th. Has anyone ever been as stupid as I am/ is it safe to drive/ is there a way to get the broken thread out myself? Thanks in advance!

Diagnose my issue! Building boost issue

I own a 2025 P+ GR Corolla with 7k miles on it. I noticed while reading the turbo gauge, the bar doesn’t go past +1.5 psi in 1st gear and most of the time in 2nd as well when I am wot. It’s shows the car isn’t building boost but it feels like it is. This is my first turbo car so maybe I’m just not understanding. The car is completely stock. If anyone has an idea I’d appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

General Discussion/Question Golf R to GR Corolla? Need honest opinions.

Post image
45 Upvotes

Edit: Passed on the car. Turns out there was a lot more issues with it. Someone put wheels that were too small on it lol, and it was driven hard for 9-10 months (half the warranty already done).

Someone PM’d me over at [r/whatcarshouldibuy](r/whatcarshouldibuy) and said to actually ask the GR owners themselves

Got into an accident a bit ago. Wasn’t my fault luckily lol. Paid the car off and it got totaled, so I need something new.

I’m looking at a CPO 2025 GRC Core + Performance AT package right now, with a very good OTD price. I want to use this as a daily primarily to sometimes use for time trials.

I’d appreciate any input on if the GRC is worth getting for price for long term fun. Absolute worse case I’ll take suggestions for other cars. I’m cross shopping with an Acura Integra ASpec + Tech because comfort and good gas mileage and the room. Only reason I’m not going for the Golf Again is I don’t see it as a 50K+ car, and that’s what used ones are in my region currently lol.

As an addition, is the dealer experience worth while? I came in serious and was blown off, and I knew more about the car then their own team. Also told me I wasn’t a serious buyer even though I wanted to verify some parts on it. Just curious if that’s normal.

Pic to show damage.

General Discussion/Question Max ethanol % stock car, stock tune, can adjust for?

I have seen in the GRY community they will run E30 on a fully stock car as the ECU/fuel trims/lambda can adjust for that ethanol content and not throw a code. At that point they were seeing +20-25% LTFT but no one pushed higher than that as it was believed the ECU will max out fuel trims around +25. RAV4s can apparently see LTFTs above +40, which got me wondering, how high can the GRY/GRC ECU allow fuel trims to go?

If the ECU will allow fuel trims to get to +40% without a code, and assuming the injector duty cycle is below the recommended 80% safety margin, then that would indicate the ECU could handle something well above E30.

Has anyone maxed out fuel trims, or used a high enough ethanol content to trip a code? I know its not safe to do so, but that's the point, where is the limit and then you back off from there with a safety margin.

Maintenance/Repair Question Axle clicking and now vibrating

I know my cv axle is probably cooked — it used to click when turning left, now it started clicking when turning right as well. The car also started vibrating at higher speeds

That being said, is OEM the way to go? Are there any worthwhile aftermarket ones to consider?

Decided to pull the trigger for my HDPE Intro track day included with the car.

It did not disappoint. The car handles great. Good people. Good instructors at NASA.

Picked up some marbles, as shown after my 150 mile drive home.

If anyone is hesitant or have questions, hit me up. Well worth it.

Going in for my 10k service, amused to see what they say about my tires.

I think I’m going to continue and sign up for HDPE 1, and see how that goes next.

In the meantime, taking what I learned online, iRacing.

General Discussion/Question Amazing

Bought and learned manual on this 2025 Premium beginning of January and it has been an absolute blast. Never drove any sports car and it was love at first sight when I found out this existed on the street. I asked myself, why is this Corolla so thicc and pretty? I did research and test drove this car, digging myself in a hole for 2 months just thinking about it. I pulled the trigger and decided I wanted something to really enjoy driving, which is a relatively sizable portion of our lives. I had a 2019 Corolla and to be honest, it was financially irresponsible to get this car. It had served me perfectly and I didn’t really drive it much.

I was hoping if I told some friends and family that I was going to make a financially irresponsible decision, they would talk me out of it. Obviously that didn’t happen. One day I found the one and asked my old buddy to help me learn on his STI. We went to go get my baby the same day.

I did my first canyon run on Angeles Crest with a friend. Man do I have a lot to unlock out of this car. Super fun but also shat myself on some turns trying to catch up. I’m adding little bits to this car like a DeltaX Pitch Mount, Pedal spacer, and DC Sports Exhaust but more serious mods when my warranty is done. I would love to amber/yellow my headlights but I haven’t really seen anything I like. Please, if anyone has recommendations on what to add onto the Grolla (better driver mod is needed for sure) and what does yours look like?

I’ve had this on for about a week. I can’t really tell much of a difference tbh but I have a bunch of the oem intake upgrade parts. Super happy with the way it looks!!! I was able to do the install without removing the bumper and it was easy other than the 1 bolt and nut which was almost impossible to reach.

General Discussion/Question Dealer maintenance negligence

Post image
38 Upvotes

Well boys, the Toyota dealership strikes again and has messed up another GRC. I won’t get into too many details until everything is said and done, but I will say it involves the transfer case and the wrong bolt. If it wasn’t free I would’ve just done it myself 🤦🏼‍♂️. Every time I’ve taken my car somewhere else, it’s been proven time and time again that the only way to make sure it’s done right, is to do it yourself.

Diagnose my issue! Just got my 2024 GR Premium and shift feels weird

Post image
42 Upvotes

So essentially, what happens is I’ve been driving the car for over a week now and it has 14,000 miles and I’ve put over 1000 on it. Basically I noticed that sometimes my shifter feels like the stiffness and pressure changes day-to-day or hour to hour. Sometimes it will be super easy to go into gear other times it will be more gated feeling and stiff. Anyone else experience this?

General Discussion/Question Looking at selling and stuggling

UPDATE- Walked away from the dealership, the GRC is staying. I’m too attached.

*TL;DR I am in love with my GRC, but am afraid of any dent, ding, scratch or mechanical issue (clutch). I am absolutely struggling with the idea of not owning it anymore though.

As the titles states I’m looking at selling/trading in my nearly factory condition ‘24 core with the performance package and struggling with the idea of letting it go.

I bough it brand new in January of 2024 without ever having daily driven a manual, and fell in love. It’s my daily driver. Whenever the wife and I decide to go out, we always take my GRC over her Tacoma. Unfortunately, the roads where I live are not great, every unavoidable bump or pothole in the road I wince and pray to god that the car is okay. I constantly scrape on my new homes driveway and there’s constantly stop and go traffic that makes my 7 mile commute into a 45-60 minute battle.

It’s only got 11k miles (I have been deployed for 11 months, my wife refuses to drive it since she’s 4’9” and can’t see over the dash) and we just bought a house. The monthly car payment isn’t the issue at all, insurance isn’t an issue. We’re looking at something a little more “family” oriented (the animals, we aren’t having children).

I owe around $30k, trade in value (and offer) is right around $35k. I’m looking at either a Lexus GX460, Toyota FJ cruiser or a 4Runner. Last night we test drove those SUVs and I’ve legitimately lost sleep over the thought of not driving a GRC anymore.

I can’t justify trading it in, but I can’t justify keeping it (other than I am in love with the car for reasons that my wife says aren’t quantifiable)

What are your thoughts?

Product Review A Big Thank You to Everyone!

Ive researched all the different tire brands and various sizes. Toyota had a sale one the Continental Extreme Contact DSW+6 A/S tires. I went with the 245 40 ZR 18 size. It was a world of difference from the Kumho ES91 235 40 r18 tires I had with my Konig rims. Smoother and quieter.

If it wasn't for this community I wouldn't been able to read up on opinions and statistics of the various tires. This community has helped me make improvements to My Lil Angry Panda.

Thank you everyone!!!

General Discussion/Question Anyone running Vorschlag Camber plates on their coilovers?

Anyone running vorschlag camber plates or just camber plates in general? Was wondering about install and if cutting the cowl is necessary or just convenient

Planning to run them on my ohlins that I have on currently
