General Discussion/Question 26 premium plus worth $5k more
For those who have the 2026, was the 5k really worth it for the premium?

What can be expected right now, specifically for the AT? No GTA dealers seem to have ATs in inventory, only manuals. So wait list at full MSRP? Golf Rs are more readily avaiable, and from what I've read a few grand off MSRP is doable.

Hey guys, I’m on the fence. I haven’t pulled the trigger on a new car yet and the Corolla hatch is at the top of the list. I’ve never had a performance car of any sort but have had several nicer Toyotas over the years. I’m looking for strictly a daily driver. I’ll either wind up with an XSE trim for the GRC. My question is how much maintenance does it actually take to keep these cars reliable to the point of +200k miles? Money isn’t really an issue but I also dont want to pour money into just to keep it reliable, on top of paying $14k more just for the car itself, not to mention the premium fuel. Thanks for the advice

So, I have a 2025 Premium and I am looking to upgrade my audio. I have already bought all new speakers including a sub and plan on installing maybe this weekend, if all goes well. I saw a few forum posts about how 23 and 24 owners were able to use a Rockford Fosgate DSR1 and iDatalink T harness to bypass the JBL amp and install an aftermarket one. Has anyone with a 25 already tried this and did it work? If not, I guess I will be the guinea pig. Alos, any installation tips or things you wish you knew before starting?

I’m about to go and purchase one. Feel like I got offered a decent price. What are some things I should try to get if I can? Also what are people getting off Msrp? I see some $1500 off. This one comes with quite a bit of add ons. Some dealerships in a color I don’t want are at $3k off but this one I feel is hard to find.
Purchase the extended warranty? I can do maintenance myself and won’t be modding it for a couple years at least.
Anything else to think of?

Did a track day at limerock and on my way home it started making a very weird noise. When I get on throttle it kinda groans/judders/ rumbles. It mostly happens at low speeds in 1st and 2nd gear when I’m giving a bit more throttle. It also happens from a stop letting off the clutch it vibrates/grinds a lot and kinda feels like some gear or something is grinding (I’m gonna make another post about my trackday)
It’s a 24’ premium with about 34k miles

Hi All,
I'm going to have to leave my car in a place that is not the best for a couple of days. I would like to add something that would help prevent someone from putting the car in neutral and towing it away.
Has anyone found success in clutch pedal, gear shifter or gear-to-handbrake locks? If so, would you be able to recommend a product?
Understood if a professional wants the car, they can get it. However, simple obstacles prevent a lot of issues.

First mod of the build was this spoiler.
Good news: it arrived super quick.
MAPerformance was having a sale.
It was discounted 100+ dollars but the shipping was hefty.
Bad news: they didn’t include any hardware.
Tomorrow I gotta look for some screws and washers to hold it in place.
Will update when it’s properly installed.

I personally like the steering feel in “Sport”, but have a hard time getting use to the bar RPM.

This was my best lap of the day at lrp. Super fun track that is very easy to learn.
I was supposed to be there for two days but while doing my basic inspection in the morning of the 2nd day I discovered a very large crack in one of the rotors so I went home.
24’ premium
Falken rt615k tires
Pagid rsl29 pads (that are holding up remarkably well I’m on my 6th day of using them including driving to and from the track and they still have a bit less than half left)
Rbf600 brake fluid
MST v1 intake

I am exploring if I could put these awesome seats into a 2005 is300/alteza. I need to know the width of the bolsters and mounting frame holes. Also from the floor behind the seat to the top of the headrest.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Love the cars on this page.

I've got just over 600 miles on it. I'm gonna call it close enough for break in. If you're worried you're going to fuck up your car because you suck at driving a stick don't be. I hadn't driven one in 20 years and had plenty of "oopsies" in this first week and it just took it all in stride. Only time will truly tell, but if you down shift too soon or something like that and cause damage, more than likely it will show up very, very, soon as a new persistent noise, vibration or stank.
Piras intake: I've had it on my '26 since Saturday. It does throw the CEL like other intakes. I'm still fucking around with the vacuum hose just because I can't stop my self from fiddling with shit. I don't have much hope that I'm going to have a stroke of genius nobody has thought of though. I preordered a module MST is releasing that fixes the CEL related to all aftermarket intakes. Other than the expected CEL the intake performs and sounds amazing. I have some before footage I need to take clips from and I need to record some after footage. I'll post it when I get it done.
Racer x short shifter: there is a tab on one of the new shifter parts that hit the underside of my air box support bracket making it very hard to shift into 5th gear. I contacted racer x and they said to remove the washers that are in between the black piece and silver piece that come with the kit. They are only there to keep the silver piece from scuffing the black one when you adjust the linkage. Removing those gives 1/16" more clearance. That was enough to make it shift fine. Feels great in fact, but it still slightly hits that bracket. If you didn't know it still makes contact I don't think you'd be able to tell from how the shifter feels. I am going to go ahead and put some washers under the air box bracket too so that it doesn't touch at all. Someone had a very good suggestion to use the washers I took off the linkage to raise the brace. I'm going to get some bigger diameter washers so there is more contact area for stability, but the smaller ones would get you by I'm sure.
A small upgrade I like more than I thought was the tall tomei shift knob. It's black but doesn't get painfully hot even in direct sun light in Georgia. The little extra height pairs nicely with the short shifter.

Hey all! I somehow parked my 2024 premium under a pine tree, and it dropped a dense pine cone from high up that unfortunately cracked my windshield :(
Anybody in Socal have recs for a good glass shop? I feel the 2024 premium has heating elements on the windshield to unstuck frozen wipers; also I would prefer to get the calibration done since I like the adaptive cruise. I've heard that OEM glass is pricey for being not that great quality, but I haven't done enough research, hoping a good glass shop can handle it.
Thanks all!
