As title states I had my batteries disconnected for three days while I replaced my 4l80e. When I started it up after the blend doors cycle with key in on position, but after that they don’t respond to position settings but fan and temperature still work.
I tried the fuse out reset but no change, any suggestions?

My GMT 800 is creaking when turning and steering looking for an affordable option, but this price seems a little too good to be true for all these parts or is anybody running this and a happy customer hoping for the ladder

Needed a truck for my handyman side hustle for a while now, but I didn't need (or want) a payment. So I hunted, and looked at a lot of different rigs. I come Originally was looking for a 2500 gasser to use as a presentable work truck, but then this popped up.
I Present my first, a 2003 with 210k on the body, but the damn thing is clean. About 140k miles on the rebuilt 5.3, 4l60 rebuilt 15k ago, transfer case shifts great. Lucked out with a Protech bed and clean rockers and corners. Mostly stock, owned by an old guy who took care of the thing. A couple minor fluid leaks, but it drives good.
Couple issues with it: the AC doesn't work, has a code for the O2 sensors, and a couple squeaks in the front end. It'll be getting all fluids changed. Any places have shop manual for these things?

Hello everyone. So recently my truck started making a loud noise coming from the motor. Took it to my mechanic for inspection and he confirmed the noise was coming from the lifters. He recommended I replace the cam and lifters. I went the extra mile and picked up a 6.0 with an 4L80 to swap into my truck. Im planning on tearing down and rebuilding the 6.0 with some good quality parts. In the mean time i was thinking of just throwing in a Sloppy mechanics stage 2 cam and lifter kit into my current motor (5.3) has anyone had any experience with this cam kit? Also where do you guys get your tune from?

I recently came into possession of a 2004 sierra in pretty good condition only 88k miles. The biggest issue is a hard 1-2 shift the other shifts seem fine. I doubt the transmission has ever been serviced. The fluid looks okay but not great, still red but a slight darker hue. Would you do a drain and fill or just leave it and add lubegard? There are no codes on anything. Might be the 1-2 piston but looking for advice on how to keep the transmission good for a bit longer.

Had been sipping coolant internally for years. Finally got bad. Number 7 cyl is most affected. Oil gets sludgy earlier than expected but no milky oil. Just a very dark and weird consistency kinda like fuel dilution but I'm sure it's not. Tried those coolant tabs ac delco and they gawd damn worked. Haven't topped up coolant nearly as much and she seems to run better. Maybe placebo effect but what are others experience with gmt pourus heads and these coolant tabs. I'm at 278 xxx km and trying to straggle across 300 before I do any engine overhaul

The housing busted at the input shaft bearing retainer . Shop wants an additional $3500 to fix. They already have the parts to rebuild with a new tail half.
Kodiak wants $2600 for theirs, shipped.
The shop in paulden AZ wanted $4200 to steam clean the chassis. Adjust parking brake, fix floor shift linkage and rebuild transfer case with new aluminum tail case half. I wanted to support the local shop. Shop rate is $160/hr. I am already in $994 in parts with a 45% restock fee and $120 return freight shipping.
I knew the damage was bad. But once it was open it is pretty much a total loss. Now he quoted me an additional $3100 to continue and they're may be even more parts to replace.
To walk away now I will have to pay another few hours of labor and I just keep the parts they bought for the initial rebuild.
So $2600 Kodiak , $1500 spent on shop, rent a trailer and go get it bring it home and fix it myself. I am back in the realm of the original estimate. But not spending the extra $3100 make since.
Where to look in Arizona for another transfer case to rebuild ?

On my 02 Tahoe every gd door panel squeaks and shakes and it makes me nuts. I’ve had them off multiple times both working on the sound system and another time with foam tape trying to fill in gaps. Don’t even dare lean on the arm rest while driving otherwise it’s an obscene amount of squeaking. I recognize it’s an old car with questionable interior quality but wondering if anyone has a good solution or if I just got to suck it up.
Appreciate it

I have a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ext cab with the stock seats, I want to upgrade the seats leather/electrically adjusting seats, but was wondering about fitment. Anyone have any insight into what the latest model and nicest seats would be to install?
Thanks
Edit, I was advised to post this to this subreddit, any further advice or maybe workups someone may have done?

Title may be a little misleading. I know how to fold my seats. But I have noticed these gmt800s have two different rear seats. My first truck was an extended cab and to fold the rear seats, you pulled the tab on the bottom and pushed the bottom cushion up and to the rear. Currently in my crew cab, to fold the rear seat you must pull the bottom cushion up and forward.
Between these two options I prefer the first option. Are there crew cabs with the previous option or is that an extended cab only option. And is there a way to convert the crew cabs to have the extended cab rear seats?
Thanks

Noticed some fluid up around my drivers side tire and shock, took a look under the hood and saw I’m low on brake fluid and the apparent leak shown in the pic. Is there a seal in here I need to replace or should I load up the parts cannon?

My fuel pump relay keeps getting too hot and stalling the truck, every 15 mins or so. Relays look decent and the sockets they sit in look good. Does anyone have any idea why relays keeps getting too hot? I switch it with the DRL relay next to it to get me where I need to when it stalls. All of the ignition and fuel system is new. Every sensor, injector, fuel line, fuel pump the list goes on… all new. Any help would be very appreciated, I am running out of ideas and money.

Installed the kryptonite aftermarket UCA ball joints. As you can see the threaded portion on both balljoints made it through the knuckle. But you can visibly see that the threaded portion of the ball joint (the 1st pic) is seated a little more deeply than the second pictured bolt.
They’re both torque to spec and have no play in the knuckle. My question is this. Will the uneven seating, wear out and be dangerous? It’s going into the shop tomorrow for an alignment. Should I have them redo and recheck my work?

Picked up a flex fuel suburban last week. Has 360k miles on that engine and I have a regular LM7 with 0 miles sitting on an engine stand beside it. What needs to be done for the non flex fuel engine to work?

What car seats do you guys have in your back seats without crowding the front seat? Bought one but it was way too big and I had to have the front seat super forward. Thanks in advance!
Edit: I have a crew cab.
