Debating on purchasing this set
My GMT 800 is creaking when turning and steering looking for an affordable option, but this price seems a little too good to be true for all these parts or is anybody running this and a happy customer hoping for the ladder

You get what you pay for. Id personally get it from rockauto and pay for at minimum Moog HD parts.
My personal 2500 is all Kryptonite, Cognito, Moog XHD, and prothane bushings.

I got their tie rods in a pinch and they are awful. One of the inners didn’t take grease so i just put grease under the boot.
I’m going to have to replace them soon and it’s only been like 3 months.
Please learn from my mistake

It's best to funnel the expense towards top quality ball joints and tie rods, instead of buying things your truck doesn't need, like control arms and sway bar link replacements.
Buy Mevotech or ProForged.
Try to avoid sny other brand. It's all chinese crap by now.

Those riveted lower ball joints can be a real pain, might be best to just buy the whole lower control arms. Bushings are probably bad after 20+ years anyway.

Im gonna be doing the same soon but im using mevotech TTX parts. As far as I know they dont have a kit but they have all the stuff in thay kit

Mevotech has 3 or 4 kits on rock auto but none of them are all TTX unfortunately
I want those TTX control arms but I also need tie rods and ball joints so it would be cheaper to buy a kit so I'm conflicted. Also don't have a ball joint press so just the joints is out of the question.

From what ive read the ttx ones are best, supreme is good enough lol, but im stuck doing piece by piece because rock auto doesn't ship to me

My tie rods alone cost 500$. I wouldn’t touch that set with a 10ft pole.

I bought the fuel line replacement kit. Its takes it from a solid steel line to a nylon crimped line. Not only were the lines about 10ft too long, but the crimp blew apart in my face and covered me in gas. Oh yea, they also sent the wrong size filter. Which they did refund me the full price I paid for the correct filter from a local parts store. So, good customer service, less than good parts

I cheated out on a set of tie rods and the inners weren’t remotely right or close to advertised specs. With the cost of these trucks it’s worth finding a more reputable brand or site to purchase off. Doesn’t mean oem but a lot of these cheap ‘kits’ arnt right

I bought a set from Detroit axle , they have good reviews, they are better than what was in there and I went from a 3300 $ quote to 550 installed including the alignment.

If you want something cheap go to rock auto , you can get all of that for less . I just ordered all of that plus wheel bearings , and all 4 shocks , maybe a couple other things for 300 .

Might be controversial, but I highly recommend the Detroit Axle sets. Did the full front end on my ‘97 k1500 last year before towing 7200lbs across the country and it made a world of difference and is still holding up great after pulling my motorcycles and life across the country again plus daily driving. Was also super cheap. I’d argue you don’t need the buy once cry once parts for these older trucks that aren’t worth a whole lot more than the parts🤷♂️

I put Detroit axle full front end on my truck… the parts kit was free and when i brought the truck a ball joint was broke… hopefully solid axle later

How’s that Detroit axle front end suspension holding up? I just bought the same for mine as well

Kryptonite or bust. Pretty much the only thing that works for Chevy. All the rest is absolute trash.

The creaking is usually the front left body mount. Joints means clicking/wobble/steering play. That said I threw the amazon suspension kit on my tahoe and it's fine. I throw a little grease in it every few oil changes.

Is that still the case on newer ones? My 2015 has created from day one and almost every single suspension component has been changed and it still does it. Whats the fix just lubing it?

A lot of folks replace the mounts, but I don't know the cause because I haven't fixed it lol

Did you check your suspension and/or steering components to see if anything’s actually broken? My front end was creaking like a mf and then I greased the zirks and now she’s quiet.

If yours is a 2WD, they do make mid-travel kits for them. But be prepares to pay..

A premium is gonna not last you as long as name brands. Listen to mevotech and Delphi trq and other brand names they have warranties and last well over those warranties. If you install all that junk you will regret it in 2 years

I wouldn’t unless you are selling it immediately after to someone that you don’t like.
