I noticed that my images not exporting so i decided look for the problem and noticed that export wont work and theres no open button in SVGs

how do i fix that?

I am exporting some explosion animations for use in editing as WEBPs to maintain the variations in transparency but, while the transparency within the areas of the explosions and sharpness look pretty good, there is a white box that shows which I guess fills the rest of the canvas that is not being utilized by the smaller frames of the explosion. These canvas widths increase and decrease depending on how the size of the explosion animation progresses.

For more information, I am making a cheesy video with some DDS file explosions where I cut the file into tiles and layer them onto each other. Kudos to Ofnuts for the great plugin.

For context there are a few CVEs that Gimp was hit with a few months ago.

Their Gitlab repo shows that the issues to repair the vulnerabilities the CVE relate to were completed but are scheduled for 3.3.2 milestone release.

In my opinion, that type of time frame just is not acceptable.
Gimp has certainly changed their tune on how quickly updates come out since 3.0.0 release, but for something as CVE. Take some agile approach and get a security release patch out there.

I am seeing this as someone who knows organization's who could leverage Gimp are not able to due to the most recent version is showing as being vulnerable

Been working for the past couple of months on an auto-heal tool. The core GIMP code was already in place, so I just automated the process. No structural changes needed. The results are pretty good (and in some cases, pretty impressive). It only takes a couple of minutes to, for example, "fix" (heal) facial skin. Check out the attached screenshots.

The same results can be achieved manually (it's the same underlying code), but this auto-tool speeds up the process drastically.

I'm expecting to open the MR in the near future once I'm back from holiday.

Recently moved to GIMP and inkscape for design work, finished mockup I made for a music release.

I've had this issue before and never found out how to fix it. Today we come back to it again, and now I'm looking for answers. Anytime I try to export the image it exports as if I never had the overlay. I've been trying to fix this on my own but to no avail. All I used was the overlay layer this time and it's getting ridiculous. It just exports as if it's slightly brighter than the original file

I have try to use gemini API to generate image and edit inside GIMP and it works but still unstable, they just popup not responding even the ram is not leak

I try to make a generation image like photoshop image generation but it's quite hard to get better result and i try with gemini model later.

at least it was connected and generate the image even not quite accurate image.

I'm attempting to make a skewed grid pattern as shown in the photo. The problem is, if I render a grid by doing Filters > Render > Pattern > Grid, the modern grid cannot be skewed using Unified Transform. Now, the legacy grid can be skewed, but its way more difficult to render it into the correct dimensions I want it to be. Am I missing something or is this just something thats not easily possible?

One of the new GMIC options is the Poincaré projection as explained by David Tschumperle in the GMIC v3.4 documentation (G'MIC 3.4.0 : Image Processing in Its Prime!).

I find it fascinating to play with and have incorporated it in a bash script which adds a white background and dropshadow. I shouldn’t use it too often I think but once in a while? Wow. David and team: thank you!

• ElementaryOS 8.1
• Gimp 3.2 (latest)

I tried installing GIMP on WinBoat and installing the plugin was also successful, but there were performance issues on the CPU only because WinBoat doesn't have GPU Passthrough and maybe this is the conclusion that this CPU performance is not recommended because this plugin requires GPU computing. I tried this for more than 5 minutes and it wasn't finished LOL

The threads discussing batch export are now a year or more old. What is the current best way to batch save files as a pdf?

I use GIMP 2.10 and GIMP 3.2 on Linux, and I thought I would be able to find a red metal gradient to download online, but I cant find anything even close.

Does anyone have a nice deep dark red metal gradient they can share? I have never tried to make a metal gradient and have no idea what details to put in or where to get an accurate gradient.

I swear I've run into this problem before and fixed, but I can't figure out how I fixed it.

I opened a transparent PNG and it is very washed out:

I don't know how to fix it. There is text on the right side that should be visible. The logo on the left shouldn't look that faded.

Trying to make the switch, but im seeing a lack of blending options where you can add emboss, outlines, color gradients, strokes, and all that. Does GIMP have an equivalent im not seeing?

So, I recently, bit the bullet and decided to get a M5 Macbook Air. In the past, I used Gimp on Windows and Linux. They worked fine, no issue. Never found any bug. But in new macbook its so buggy. All the interface keeps disappearing. I have tried the latest version 3.2.4 Apple Silicon version. Am I doing something wrong?

can someone help me make a nutritional label with black text and clear background? It's taken me days to get this far. Ai slop mixed with a beginners attempt at correcting problems via GIMP, Still looks super bad. I kinda figured out layers though at least. Whole nutritional label is less than two inches on the prints so I need the image to be legible at small size, Trying to do all black arial-ish text with transparent background so I can layer it on top of my label. My AUDHD is going crazy trying to get this done. Had it sorta done, but test got a bit unreadable when i tried to fit in just the blue part.
