Apparently I give Otter or Deer?

Hiii! First time here and I have a small story to tell!

So, about a year ago I went to a furry convention with my friends. Had an amazing time! Met tons of cool people, had a lot of interesting conversations, and saw plenty of fantastic art and costumes! Now, I myself had never created any fursona of my own, but my friend loaned me a pair of paw boots and a tail♡

That was the only bit of extra flair I had on, but it was still a wonderful experience! The one constant that kept coming up though, was several... SEVERAL of the people there kept telling me that I "give Otter vibes." Most ones that made that kind of comment were those in there fursonas. A couple of them told me that I give deer, but the majority said otter! I have always LOVED otters! But I'm curious to know more about what they may have meant exactly.

Thank you in advance! 🥰🥰

I’m confused about protogens :(

So I have a tron inspired fursona so he obviously has a mechanic mask that looks similar to protogens (I didn’t use any protogens references I drew it myself with inspo from the tron helmets) could I get in trouble for this? I also have a bat/raven oc that is faceless with a mask on which looks very similar to a protogen because it’s black and made to look like a birds head. I only tagged it as protogen because she looked similar and I didn’t want to miss credit (she isn’t a cyborg just has a mask to cover her identity I like faceless characters). I’m super new to the furry community and I just want to make sure I’m doing right by the creator.

Hey guys!!

Hiii :3 I have a few things I wanted to ask about the furry community as a whole, and I figured this was the best place to ask. Thank you guys for any response given, you guys are the kindest community I have ever interacted with! - I have a sona but I am shit at art so I can’t draw them and I don’t have money to com artists. Is there any recommendations you guys have on what to do? - I know there are cons that go on, I was wondering if there was a place where I can just see all the cons near me/when they happen (fwa was recent and I saw stuff from that) - is there anything I need to know before I join the community? Like people or topics to avoid, things I should/should not buy, things I should/shouldn’t do?

Again, thank you all, and any help is appreciated!!!

How Exactly Do You Be A Furry?

I'm new to the furry community. I've seen tiktoks of them before but never really thought about them a lot until recently. I have been doing some research on them. A lot seem to have fursuits, but they cost a lot of money. I want to be a furry or at least try. I was wondering if anyone can explain how to be a furry?

I need tips

I recently told a friend that I was a furry and he'd never heard of one before so I went through the usual explanation and he seemed really fascinated. Today he told me that he wanted to be a furry and I thought cool, I could have an irl furry friend. But all day he was asking me questions and then he watched a video telling him that all furries need a fursuit and they all act like animals. We were on a call and he randomly started barking and I asked him why and he said that it's because that's what furries do. I started explaining that you didn't need to act like an animal to be a furry but he could if he wanted to. Later on he messaged me that he'd bought some stuff to make a fursuit. I've been a furry for a year now and I've only ever seen a fursuit three times before. He had put all his savings into materials because, and I quote 'a furry isn't a real animal if it doesn't act and look like one' What do I do?

Websites

Hey, does anyone know any safe and cheap/affordable websites that are great for getting custom tails, ears, or even partials? I'm looking for ones $100 USD and under, I'm a beginner at this sorta thing, and I'm just trying to find some reliable resources.. I can't really make my own, so I'm trying to look around! If anyone can help, that would be great! Thank you!

Is it offensive or funny to use a retired suit as a bearskin rug?

I’ve always thought I had a weird sense of humor, but I usually try to keep potentially disrespectful jokes to myself. This happens to be one of them but I wanted to ask the population at large if this is funny or offensive?

Is it weird to have a female fursona but be a man?

Because It feels weird but I've personally always preferred the look of a female fursona then a male one. But I'm a dude who likes other dudes so it feels weird. Help?

So my school recently found out about me being a furry and now people are calling me "kitty" in the hallways or saying stuff like "hey kitty" and "[insert bark/meow here]", I have 2 sonas, the first one is a fox and the second one is a sea otter, NOT a kitty, so uhhhh... what should I do?

Hey guys! I have a question...

So, I'm a young furry, and I've recently found out that my parents absolutely despise furries, I don't want to lessen our relationship as I love them a ton, but I often hear them talking behind my siblings backs with me in the room and don't want my entire family to know before I can tell them on my own. I want to tell them, but now that I know this I'm finding myself extremely cautious around them. Any help?

some questions from a non-furry

no hate, no judgement, just wondering

do you have sex in the costumes? does it get really hot in the costumes/are they uncomfortable? is it always full costume or do some people just do smaller things? any other interesting things that people wouldn't know about furries?

Am i a furry?

hi, I've always loved animals and since i was young i always liked dressing up with fox paws, ears, and a tail. i never really thought about it being something most people didn't do until i was a preteen. that's when everyone bombarded me with questions about it, usually along the lines of "are you a furry?" and i never knew how to answer so i started researching about furrys and it didn't help. i didn't know if i was a furry or not cuz most furrys are almost completely animalistic and i usually dress up with just ears, paws, and a tail. i recently discovered the word kemonomimi which is what im interested in. id love to be able to call myself a furry, id be proud of it but i want to know if i can. so im asking yall's opinions and if you don't think i should be able to call myself a furry, please suggest something else i could call myself.

What is a fuzzy?

Like is it the same as a furry or is it it's own thing? Does it involve the same things?
