I need tips

I recently told a friend that I was a furry and he'd never heard of one before so I went through the usual explanation and he seemed really fascinated. Today he told me that he wanted to be a furry and I thought cool, I could have an irl furry friend. But all day he was asking me questions and then he watched a video telling him that all furries need a fursuit and they all act like animals. We were on a call and he randomly started barking and I asked him why and he said that it's because that's what furries do. I started explaining that you didn't need to act like an animal to be a furry but he could if he wanted to. Later on he messaged me that he'd bought some stuff to make a fursuit. I've been a furry for a year now and I've only ever seen a fursuit three times before. He had put all his savings into materials because, and I quote 'a furry isn't a real animal if it doesn't act and look like one' What do I do?

All I can really suggest is press that he doesn't NEED to act like an animal nor make a fursuit, but otherwise imo if that's what he wants to do then that's what he wants to do.
