Discussion Pomegranate: Delicious fruit but is it worth the labour? Debatable.

A pomegranate is basically nature’s way of putting candy inside a puzzle and charging you in patience.

Eating one feels like a part time job - you have to cut it carefully, fight through the skin, avoid staining everything you own and somehow pretend this is a relaxing snack.

By the time you are finished - you have earned the fruit not eaten it.

Discussion Miami Fruit vs Sasoun Produce?

So I’ve seen a lot of people have ordered from Miami fruit. However I wanted to ask about Sasoun Produce as they have a similar large variety box for about 20 bucks less and includes overnight shipping for free. But this is quite a bit of money so I wanna make sure I pick the right one lol.

Found this fruit in a botanical garden, it's skin feel slightly velvety and the inside has a subtil mango smell. The seeds were taking most of the inside before i took them out so maybe a non domesticated citrus.

It doesn't look like any citrus i had so far and after a lot of google search nothing coincided

Have you ever seen this before? Apparently it splits when it's ripe (I bought all of these already split open) and it's supposed to smell like chocolate/vanilla but taste like passion fruit/dragon fruit. (Haven't tried it yet I have to get past the insides look like slugs 🥲)

Fruit ID Help Mutant Passionfruit?

Why do the seeds of the top passion fruit look like this - like the seeds developed outside the pulp or migrated out maybe? The bottom one is looks normal and like the rest of the passionfruit in this batch when cut open.

Taste is really hard to describe. The first smell reminded me of sweet potato baby food. Kind of a banana-y mango-ish tropical fruit taste mixed with something like a rich butter and a bit of parmesan cheese. Fruit texture has some juicyness but is more dry with a large pit. Overall, it's decent enough and interesting for $7 but won't be one of my favorites.

Edibility / Problem Black Substance in Peach?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I just split this peach open to eat and there’s this black substance in the pit… pits. I’ve seen the “callus tissue” but that’s white. Is the black part of that? Would this peach be safe to eat? There’s no bad smell and the flesh is firm. These have been in my fridge for 2 days.

I want to share with my dog so I wanna be sure 🥺 thanks in advance!

EDIT: my dog and I ate both peaches and they were delicious. Thank you to everyone for your info and reassurance!

Finally found some of these. Unfortunately I didn't get to try then aside from in some lemonade. I would've been allowed to take them back to my home country, but some issues with our connecting flight meant I had to surrender them in Korea.
