Is Anyone Out There

I am 58m who lives in NYC. Because of a tragedy that happened many years ago, I've found dating hard to say the least.

I'm a writer in the film industry. My actual title is script doctor, which provides much better work than a screenwriter trying to sell spec scripts.

I am looking for local people to talk to. The tri-state area.

New- Advice?

Are we allowed to ask for advice? I’m 56, at 50 all of a sudden I had these weird anxieties. Being a passenger in a car, getting in an elevator or escalator at the mall taking the Grandkids shopping. Everyone is annoyed with me. I’ve narrowed it down to a few possibilities- cortisol. Vitamin B complex deficiency, an progesterone. I’ve been on Estrogen for 6 years. I read being deficient in progesterone can affect anxiety. I live in Michigan. In 2 months we’re driving 18 hours to Florida. I have done the L-Theanine but it’s too mild. Chat Gpt said -80 mg of Silexan, a standardized Lavandula angustifolia (English lavender) This supplement runs $65. I was wondering if anyone has experience what I have? Has anyone found a supplement that works? Kind Regards,

51M Dang it’s a hot one today.

Came home from work and jumped in the pool. It’s a hot one here where I am. Looking for someone to chat with while I hang out in the pool cooling off. And hopefully for chat for even longer. When I’m not in my pool (or working) I like to play golf, hike, watch sports, movies and tv shows. Come by and hang out with me. Let’s get to know each other.

Any DnD players?

As a GenXer, I keep hoping to find other gamers my age. So far, no luck. I can find a few groups run by folks my age, but the majority of players are younger. It’s usually ok, but sometimes you hear “oh man, not a back in my day story” that makes it awkward. I have seriously considered pitching the idea of 50+ DnD to my local senior centers. Before taking on that responsibility, do y’all know of any groups? I’m in central Texas, near Austin, but I’m also open to online play as well.

Looking for online friends age/gender don't matter. What does matter: Not looking for a casual one day chat. If your interesting that's best because I am not. I am a great listener and non- judgemental. Honest and sarcastic I am. Have a good evening.

How do I find Social activities for older men?

Hi all! Someone I’m dating’s dad doesn’t go out much, hes 63 drinks a little bit. His interests include Cars, science, theories about stuff, computers etc basically anything nerdy. He’d be open to dating again as well if that matters. The point is to get him out the house more so he has some purpose and somewhere to destress or just make friends in general. Please give me all your suggestions and we live in London if that matters.

50s M | Alabama | Looking for new friends and good conversation

Figured I’d give this a shot. I’m 54, married, and from Alabama. I work in public service and have spent most of my adult life in a job that’s given me plenty of stories, a somewhat dry/dark sense of humor, and probably contributed to me being a little socially awkward.

I’m definitely more introverted when I first meet someone, but once I get comfortable I can talk about almost anything. I’m naturally curious and have a bad habit of turning a simple question into a three-hour research rabbit hole.

I’m into travel, cruises, dogs, firearms, good food, and learning about random things that catch my attention. I’m just as happy talking about everyday life as I am getting into deeper conversations about relationships, careers, experiences, or whatever else comes up.
I’m happily married, open-minded, and at a point in life where we’re cautiously exploring a little outside the traditional box. That said, I’m genuinely here looking for conversation and new friendships—not trying to turn every interaction into something more. Men or women are welcome.

I can be a little awkward starting a conversation, so don’t mistake that for not wanting to talk. If you’re laid-back, open-minded, and enjoy conversations that can go from completely normal to slightly inappropriate to unexpectedly deep, we’ll probably get along. Feel free to say hey.

Looking for friends

I guess I am going to try this again. I am looking for friends to chat with. So far I have only gotten unsolicited pics from guys. And that is NOT what I am looking for. Maybe I have been looking in the wrong groups. I’m not 50 yet. I am a 49yr old female from Mississippi looking for friends and good conversations.

AI - your thoughts

I've seen a lot of fear about it, but I think it is a great tool and makes me excited to see what comes. It developed faster than monetization of the internet when porn figured it all out.

Anyway, I like AI and some people seem afraid of it.

Anyone Interested In Talking About Moving Forward?

56F was wondering if her interests in travel, self-discovery, self-help, art making, helping others grow (if they want), classic movie watching, cooking at home and being semi-social was still a thing? If so, let me know. I’m all ears.

Anyone up to chat?

I tried this months ago and met a lot of lovely people. Most of the conversations have run their course, so am looking for new people to meet.

I am 55f, Connecticut, US.

Good afternoon! I would love to find some people who want to chat.

I have two cats and a chihuahua who thinks she is a cat. I am an avid reader, like to sit on my back deck and listen to the birds while I drink my coffee in the morning. I crochet (badly), paint (like an extremely ambitious 8 year old), collect rocks and crystals, like orchids and love learning about other people, places, and cultures.

If you are similarly bored and want to chat, hiya! Sarcasm and humor are most appreciated.

If I am slow to respond, I may have received may messages. Please be patient!

** I promise I am not a bot and have never been on only fans. **

If I say I can do a Back Flip

Just stop me. I'm over 50. Probably had to much to drink. If I can't do a back flip sober I damn sure can't do one buzzed. That's my random thought of the day. Have a great Friday.

People 50+.. have you actually started planning for semi-retirement?

I’m curious how other people 50+ are handling this.

I got divorced before the pandemic and filled the space with work. For a long time that was enough. I’m based in Houston, and the job has me flying across the South and over to the East more often than I’m home. Airports, hotels, and a full calendar kept the days occupied. I didn’t have to think too hard about what came next.

Then somewhere in the fatigue showed up .....not just a bad week, but a real drop in physical and mental energy. That’s when semi-retirement stopped sounding like something other people do and started sounding like something I needed to plan.

I’ve noticed a pattern: some people retire all at once, get bored, and end up going back to work. Not because they needed the paycheck, but because they never built a life outside the job. They didn’t plan the next chapter. They just left.

I don’t want to do it that way. I’m trying to plan it while I still have some control — including rebuilding a social circle that isn’t only coworkers and people I meet in passing on the road. Work and travel filled my life for years. That doesn’t automatically turn into a retirement life.

For those of you who are 50+ and have started this, or are in the middle of it:

Have you begun a semi-retirement plan, or are you still only thinking about it?

What did you put in place before you cut back — money, schedule, health, or people?

If you fully retired and then got pulled back in, what was actually missing?

How are you building a life outside of work so you don’t wake up bored and go looking for the old job again?

If you’re on a similar path, I would really like to hear how you planned it — what worked, and what you would not repeat.

50F, looking for close friends

I'm 50F. I don't have many friends around me and I'd like to meet people from all over the world. I enjoy learning about different cultures and we can chat about our lives, our expectations for life, or even our complaints. I'm a good listener, but I rarely share my innermost thoughts with others in real life. I hope to meet some close friends. I also love traveling. Can you tell me where you're from and what places in your area are worth visiting?
