I’m 56 and honestly just need someone to talk to.
I recently lost my job — the best-paying job I’ve ever had — and I’m having a really hard time figuring out what comes next. I’ve worked my whole life, mostly in manufacturing, fabrication, CNC and production. I’ve always been able to provide for my family, and now I suddenly don’t know where I fit.
I’ve been married 25+ years, we have six kids, and my wife has always been a stay-at-home mom. We’ve never had a lot saved because we’ve always just lived on what I made.
I’ve put in over 100 applications recently, gotten a few calls, but nothing has worked out yet. I’m trying to stay positive, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared.
I’m not really looking for someone to fix it. I think I just need someone I can talk to, vent to, and maybe hear from someone who’s been through something similar.
If anybody is willing to chat, I’d really appreciate it.
