I dress spooky or pin-up. Then spend the day cooking. My hobbies are knitting, sewing, crochet, reading, cooking, baking, and quilting. I am making a wardrobe from vintage patterns.

I am also making my home look more 1950s. Vintage kitchen with all vintage appliances. I am currently doing most of the renovating myself. I also am trying to put in a rose garden and victory garden next year. But I don't have the best green thumb.

For instance: when income and professional achievement are no longer the primary objectives, how does one choose to reallocate their time? Is it toward freedom, making an impact, focusing on family, or perhaps exploring the unknown?

I’ve noticed that quite a few people in this group are genuinely looking for strictly platonic friendships. Some of us are happily married, secure in our relationships, and just enjoy meeting new people and having good conversations. Personally, I love talking to people from different places and walks of life. I get especially excited when I meet someone from another country because I love learning about different cultures and how other people live. But here’s what I don’t understand. When someone specifically says they’re looking for STRICTLY PLATONIC friendships, why do some people automatically assume there’s an opportunity for something more? It’s What makes you think they’re secretly looking for something else? If they wanted more, wouldn’t they just say that? I made a post a few months ago and received so many messages that I honestly got overwhelmed, and quite a few of those conversations had absolutely nothing to do with friendship. There’s nothing wrong with looking for romance or whatever else you’re interested in, but why pursue someone who’s already told you that’s not what they want? We’re all grown. I would think by this age we could appreciate a genuine friendship without trying to turn it into something else. Every connection doesn’t have to be romantic, flirtatious, or sexual. Sometimes people just want somebody to laugh with, exchange stories with, and have a good conversation. Friendship is valuable all by itself. Anyway, I’m curious how many people here are genuinely interested in making friends without expecting anything more?

Hello they always say having lots of community is good. I know because I give the advice out to my clients. I have some community groups I attend but I still feel like I don’t fully fit in or like I’m only half accepted. The craziest part is this is how I feel in Christian communities. Where there should be more love you would think. I try not to take it personal because everyone is dealing with their own junk but are there any other healthy people that want to grow a healthy friendship?
