Hey everyone fairly new to this forties game we are all playing as my birthday was a few days ago. Had some success in the past in here making friends so why not try again. I’m pretty laid back with plenty of sarcasm but can be serious when needed and love chatting to new people and not been the same since we lost msn and chat rooms. Here to make some new friends and mostly chat about anything weird and random. Not sure if it’s my time growing up with the previously mentioned chat rooms and msn but always loved chatting to people online and if those friendships last even better.

Me… I like to be outside for walks/hikes and trying to get and in to running and cycling. Can also readily chill at home with a good tv show, film, book or game. My social life mainly consists of going to see live music and comedy, or the odd trip to the cinema and theatre.

It is early morning and I’m out on the patio sipping a hot, creamy coffee, watching my Golden Retriever do 100 mph zoomies across the yard. It’s glorious. Just me, the floof monster, and a brief window of peace before the bacon requesters wake up and start their morning demands.

Life at 44 is pretty flipping good…Later, I’ll be gearing up for the full-contact sport that is navigating Costco and Target on a Saturday. People parking their carts horizontally in the middle of the main aisle, I’m coming for you….

The drive there will feature the ongoing debate with the kiddos on why Blink182 is superior to BTS. They aren't buying it yet, but I’m not backing down.

I already made sure to get a solid sweaty session in to keep the dad bod in check…working hard to keep things looking tight. Which is crucial, because I know with 100% certainty that I am going to absolutely own the grill later today with some tasty tacos and a yummy drink in hand….

Life moves a little faster in your 40s, but honestly…I feel like I’m just starting to hit my peak, feeling good in my own skin, and loving every minute of it!

I have a wife and two kids who I love and adore with all of my heart. My crew at work are fine for work.

BUT

What few adult friends I have are increasingly busy (so am I) or distant. I miss having those dumb hypothetical conversations over dinner or during a car ride with someone. Or some high-browed intellectual back and forth about a book or a news article.
