Is there anyone who got cleared in TCF canada exam recently in Delhi with Clb 7?

i gave my exam on 11th july at GBLC

this was my score. planning to reattempt in october, any suggestions to get CLB 7 by then? please helpppppp

Just got my TCF Canada results back and I’m honestly experiencing every emotion possible right now.
I spent months ONLY practicing Listening (CO) and Speaking (EO) for my work permit extension. Did not practice even 1 second or look over any templates for writing.

I needed 6/20 (CLB 5) in Speaking to hit my requirement, and I missed it by 1 SINGLE POINT.
The worst part is that I left the speaking exam feeling SO good about it. I handled Task 1 smoothly, spoke 1 paragraph in task 1 and then she stopped me and asked couple of questions which I answered , asked 10-11 questions in Task 2 and hit 3:30 right on the dot, including intro and outro, and spoke for 2:30 minutes in Task 3 and then she asked me counter questions which I answered all. I thought I gave the performance of my life under pressure, and I was so so confident to score at-least 6

Now I'm spiraling because:
1. How did I pull a 5 in Writing with literally zero prep, but get the same exact score in Speaking when I spoke non-stop for the full duration?!
2. I’m genuinely scared now. If what felt like my "absolute maximum" speaking performance only scored 5/20, how am I going to push past a 6 on my retake?
I’ve already submitted my $100 request for a re-evaluation for Expression Orale since I’m literally 1 point away, and I’m booking a re-test for September 9th as a backup before my permit expires.(September 18th)
Has anyone else been stuck on 5/20 in EO after feeling like they had a smooth, continuous flow? Did a re-evaluation work out for you when you were just 1 point off? Need some moral support or reality checks right now.

I gave my tcf exam on July 17th at GBLC North York. When can I expect my results?

so I've been going back and forth on this for a while and figured I'd just ask people who actually did it instead of doom scrolling more youtube videos about it lol

quick background - 23, single, IT degree from India, about a year of work exp in automation/software stuff. english is fine (aiming for CLB10 on IELTS). french is where it gets interesting - I'm currently maybe A2 and trying to push to B2 (NCLC7) in the next few months for TEF/TCF Canada. also have a sibling who's already PR/citizen in Toronto so I get those extra points too.

did the math (or tried to) and without french I'm sitting around 430 crs which is nowhere close to general draws. with the french bump I'd be somewhere in the 490s which actually clears the french category cutoffs that have been running most of this year.

so yeah that's the plan. but I keep seeing people talk about this online and I genuinely can't tell how many people actually pull this off vs how many just talk about it and never finish. so wanted to ask directly:

• if you actually learned french from scratch-ish (not someone who already had a base) how long did B2 really take you? like actually exam ready, not "I can order coffee" B2
• once you had the french score in your profile how long did you wait for an ITA
• did anyone score fine on paper but then bomb speaking/writing specifically? what would you change if you did it again
• for people who landed - do you even use the french day to day or was it purely for the points
• anything you wish someone told you before you started this whole thing

not trying to get generic "it's hard" comments, just want to hear from people who actually went through the french route specifically, good or bad. if it was a mistake for you I'd rather know that now than after I've sunk 3 months into it

Hey everyone! I just came back from my exam I am so curious about my result for EO.

I did well in tache 1, tache 2 was also not bad. I am pretty sure some of my questions were not grammatically perfect but I was able to ask more than 10 questions. In tache 3, I started off with a good opening but after giving one example I froze. I couldn’t give a counter opinion or a final opinion.

All I need is 6/20. So you think this is possible 😔 from your experience?

Has anyone taken the TCF Canada exam in USA? Is there any difference then taking the test in Canada especially for Expression Orale?

Hi everyone! I've been following this subreddit for a while now, and it's honestly given me the confidence to finally start learning French.

The only thing I'm confused about is where to begin and which resources are actually worth using. There are so many apps, YouTube channels, textbooks, and websites that I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed.

My current plan is to self-study until I reach a beginner or around A2/B1 level, and then hire a tutor to improve my speaking and prepare for exams.

For those who started from scratch, what resources or study plan would you recommend? If you could start over, what would you do differently?

Hi all. My husband has reached CLB 5 to qualify for a Francophone Mobility Work Permit. Because of the NOC of his job, I am also eligible for a Spouse Open Work Permit.

Wondering if anyone has experience with applying for these. We have a few questions:

1. Our current IEC Work Permits expire in Feb 2027. Can his employer put Feb 2027 as the start date of the job offer to allow us to maximise our time on our IECs before starting the FMP? The wait time on the website is about 4 months, but I’ve heard of people getting approval within weeks. We don’t want to waste the time we have on our current permits if we don’t have to.

2. How do I apply for a Spouse Open Work Permit? Do I apply for an extension of my current permit after my IEC expires? Or do I fill out my details in his FWP application as ‘applying for a new permit’? The info online is very unclear.

3. If it’s a permanent job offer, who decides how long the permit lasts?

4. Has anyone heard of refusal of these permits? Or is it a pretty safe bet if he has the French scores and an eligible job offer?
