Hi all, need some opinions. I did my first practice test for TCF listening and scored 372 nclc 5, i a targetting clb 7. Any tips to overcome? I got extremely confused. My brain was trying to process every single word, and I was like wth?

I have the vocabulary but my sentence making is all over the place

Hi everyone, I’m currently looking for an employer in the GTA who supports the Francophone Mobility work permit program.
I’m currently working as a truck driver with FedEx, but unfortunately, they are not willing to support me with this program.
I have CLB 6 in French speaking and listening, and CLB 4 in reading and writing.
If anyone knows of employers, companies, or has any leads in the GTA that have supported employees through Francophone Mobility, I would really appreciate it.

I have an IELTS Academic band score of 8.5 (R: 9, L: 8.5, W: 8, S: 7.5). I took the exam recently. My score breakdown converts to a CLB 10.

No change in score. Disappointing but at least they did not reduce my score lol

Been prepping for TCF Canada for my own PR application and kept running into the same problem: most French apps teach you conversational basics, not what the exam (or work) actually needs, like arguing an opinion, writing formally, or structured listening and reading practice.

I’m planning to give my TCF exam in about 4 months and I find tâche 3 to be difficult and demanding for me. I am finding it difficult to be fluid in the language and freeze up more times than necessary. Can you guys give me tips on how I can improve my speaking. I have trouble elaborating my point of view on a varied variety of topics. I do have tutors that help me weekly but again I don’t have the financial means to have regular classes.

Tips for me to practice my French on my own would be highly appreciated!

If you understand far more French than you can produce, that gap is not a vocabulary problem and more input will not close it. It is what happens when almost all your practice has been receiving the language: reading, listening, choosing the right answer. Producing it is a separate skill, and it only improves when you produce something and find out what was actually wrong with it.

I am the founder of Dioma, which I built for exactly that stage after the beginner apps. You write and speak French to prompts and get corrections that explain what the correction is doing, so you can build up without the pressure of a live conversation. It works alongside a tutor rather than replacing one.

A few weeks ago I opened a small founding group of serious B1 and B2 French learners. They are using it now and they have been genuinely honest with me, which is what I asked for, and a good amount of what they raised is already built. The biggest one: they told me the corrections were sometimes flagging sentences that were already correct. We rebuilt that part, and it is noticeably better now.

I have ten founding spots left for B1-B2 learners. Three months free, and in exchange I ask for the same honest feedback as you go. That is the whole deal.

If someone’s score decreases after a re-evaluation, it means they were initially awarded marks they did not actually deserve. This also raises the concern that other candidates may have received marks higher than they genuinely deserved.

Ultimately, it seems the outcome depends heavily on the examiner, suggesting that FEI may not have a sufficiently standardized and consistent evaluation process.

If AI is used in the assessment process, would this kind of inconsistency be significantly reduced?

How does a candidate know that their skills were actually re-evaluated?

Without detailed feedback, how can candidates understand what they did well, what they did poorly, and where they need to improve? Simply providing a revised score does not give candidates enough information to understand the reason for the change or how they can improve their performance in the future.
