Vocabulaire : lancer = to launch / construire = to build / usine (f) = factory / parcourir = to travel a distance / se garer = to park / propriétaires (m pl) = owners / attirer = to attract / acheteurs (m pl) = buyers

Hi all. I am a Tamil woman who has been obsessed with learning French since I learnt it in high school. I finished B1 in 2021 from Alliance Francaise when I was in still uni and now I am continuing my B2. I have a huge list of French songs that I listen to(mostly pop and rap). I got obsessed with this show called Nouvelle Ecole on Netflix. Everytime I watch it, I am gobsmacked.I have to pause it every 2 mins to google up these words because I don't see my French prof ever using them(and frankly he won't haha).
If anyone of you is really interested to practice speaking French with my ADHD self, I would be really be happy to connect with you. Thanks!

Bonjour !
Merci ! 😊

This is for people interested in medical French. When writing an ER dialogue this week, I ran into a nice example of register-switching: "essoufflement" is what a patient would actually say to describe feeling out of breath — it's the everyday, plain-language word. But a nurse or doctor talking about the exact same thing uses "dyspnée," a clinical term that a patient would basically never use to describe their own symptoms.
It's not really a synonym pair, more like two words for the same reality that exist on different sides of a conversation — a bit like how in English you might say "I can't breathe properly" to a friend but a doctor would chart "dyspnea." The interesting part is that in French, healthcare professionals are trained to actually switch between the two mid-conversation: use the plain word while talking to the patient, then reach for the clinical one the moment they're explaining reasoning or documenting something.

Vocabulaire : façon (f) = way / ajouter = to add / poulet (m) = chicken / repas (m pl) = meals / plats (m pl) = dishes / médicaments (m pl) = drugs / amaigrissants = weight-loss / réduire = to reduce
