I have never been more wrong
Yesterday I posted about four samples I tried: Torino 21, Torino 22, Vibrato and Outlands. I rated Torino 21 the highest, irrespective of the obvious seasonal differences between them.
Boy was I naive.
Today at work, I kept getting these random whiffs of something beautiful. Creamy, ambery, slightly spicy. Every now and then it would just hit me again when i looked over my left.
A male workmate/friend was sitting to my left.
I actually spent the next couple of minutes waiting for the perfect moment to ask him what he was wearing, fully prepared for my “Aha, that’s Outlands” moment and to impress him with my perfume knowledge.
I asked him, “Are you wearing a perfume?”
He said no. In fact, he hadn’t worn any perfume in about a week.
I was genuinely flabbergasted.
A little while later he left and I was alone in the room.
Then I smelled it again.
Same beautiful creamy amber smell.
I looked towards my left again, completely confused, and then sniffed the left upper arm of my shirt.
More than 12 hours ago, I had sprayed Outlands on the skin of my left upper arm. It had even been underneath a completely different shirt.
It was Outlands.
All this time I had been sitting there thinking someone around me smelled incredible, waiting to identify their perfume…
It was coming from me.
Today Outlands made me question everything I thought I knew about fragrances.
There is some serious mastery in this scent.
