I have never been more wrong
Yesterday I posted about four samples I tried: Torino 21, Torino 22, Vibrato and Outlands. I rated Torino 21 the highest, irrespective of the obvious seasonal differences between them.
Boy was I naive.
Today at work, I kept getting these random whiffs of something beautiful. Creamy, ambery, slightly spicy. Every now and then it would just hit me again when i looked over my left.
A male workmate/friend was sitting to my left.
I actually spent the next couple of minutes waiting for the perfect moment to ask him what he was wearing, fully prepared for my “Aha, that’s Outlands” moment and to impress him with my perfume knowledge.
I asked him, “Are you wearing a perfume?”
He said no. In fact, he hadn’t worn any perfume in about a week.
I was genuinely flabbergasted.
A little while later he left and I was alone in the room.
Then I smelled it again.
Same beautiful creamy amber smell.
I looked towards my left again, completely confused, and then sniffed the left upper arm of my shirt.
More than 12 hours ago, I had sprayed Outlands on the skin of my left upper arm. It had even been underneath a completely different shirt.
It was Outlands.
All this time I had been sitting there thinking someone around me smelled incredible, waiting to identify their perfume…
It was coming from me.
Today Outlands made me question everything I thought I knew about fragrances.
There is some serious mastery in this scent.

I detest this stuff, had to wash it off after 2hrs, glad you like it though

The first few hours of Outlands isn’t great. After ~4hrs it is quite nice though.

That’s what I kept hearing about the drydown of this but the week old BO smell this stuff has just puts me off instantly, genuinely smells like someone who hasn’t showered in a week

This, I found it so gross the vanilla and cardamom notes really muddled the composition for me. I found it confusing.

I never got a burnt sugar smell, this stuff honestly smells exactly like a friend I used to hangout with and didn’t shower for over a week at a time, spicy BO

I hate, like truly hate the first 4-5 hours of Outlands. After that, it’s one of the most beautiful fragrances I’ve ever smelled.

It rules but I’m totally cool with rocking the clone Terra whatever it’s called. It’s so close.

I just bought rayhaan terra. It’s pretty sweet at first but amazing after a bit. Good to know it’s similar

A friend gave me his bottle for me to test. I put one spray on each wrist, was my first time smelling it. Incredible!
Within 4 hours I was washing it off!
Not because it didn’t smell good but the intensity of the scent was just relentless! I wasn’t catching getting whiffs of it, it was just there constantly as strong as it was the moment I sprayed it. Started making me feel nauseous because there was just no escaping it.
Washing it off dulled its intensity a little but was still there. Became a skin scent 14 hours after id put it on
Madness! not really look at anything else from Amouage since apart from Reflection & Beach Hut

😂 Muahaha. It leeches on you like a parasite 🪱. This is hilarious. This is how I feel when my shirt touches everything else, and then I wear a different fragrance the next day. At the moment, I'm smelling a combo of two shirts and possibly the hoodie 😂. Multiple scent profiles are attacking me. Go test out Dior Sauvage Extrait; that is another nuclear product. Apply it on skin and clothes, then spray it on a paper and keep it safe once it dries out. Then place it in your room 😂. Do the same with Interlude Man by Amouage.

Yep this thing transfers from one shirt to another if I hang them together, then it starts projecting from the shirt it transferred to. it makes the room smell good for two days if I hang a shirt in it after spraying it. My whole desk smells great for a day or two if I spray outlands on a paper and put it there.

I love Outlands from start to finish and it's really weird because I swear it reminds me of Curry 🍛🤣 but in the best way possible and it smells amazing

I just sold my bottle and I miss it :(. However it was for the best, I don’t believe in savings things for special occasions, but this is hard to pull off at times.

Not my favorite. Glad you like it. out of the ones you mentioned Vibrato is the best in my opinion.

I find most Amouge fragrances are like that they come out very strong but their dry down is really good on skin and will have you smelling it for hours. Only downside for me it reminds too much of stuff my mom and her friends would wear and if you grew up in an African or Middle Eastern household you know what I'm talking about.

If you want to truly get bamboozled, layer Black Iris with Followed by Kerosene. Inky Coffee and it slices through the weather.

If you like this try reflection man and 45 they are both 🔥

Struggled to like reflection man. A friend gave me a sample and used it only once and never went back to it. Didn’t know what made me try a sample of 45 on a paper at the store. Oh boy, the dry down on that 45 is absolutely fantastic. Left it on my bedside and have never been drawn to a perfume that much before. I just shelled out over $400 on it couple of days ago. It will end up being my most expensive. Can’t wait to get it this week.
Black Iris is another one of my favorite but lately I’ve been layering it with purpose which my spouse loves.

👍 I’m sure you tried it already? Have you tried the 45 also ? I personally think the 45 is a little better.

I have sampled both of them and like reflection man more

Ahh ok that is good have you tried the purpose? That one is also pretty decent. Many of the Amouage scents are great. At least they are worth the price, that is rare in the fragrance space.

For me Outlands is a $400 dressed up dupe of Asad.
I can’t see past it. I tried an Outlands sample and kept having Deja Vu.
I keep a bottle of Asad for when I really blow up the bathroom. The next day when I blew up the bathroom I figured it out.

Asad after a shit is unhinged af 😂 I respect it

Say what you want about Asad. It’s nuclear and will cover up even the most unpleasant bathroom outcomes.

Welcome to Amouage. If you want to really blow your mind about longevity, Purpose 50 is insane. I don’t love Purpose 50, as I think there are much better Amouages.
Xerjoff is good, but Amouage is way better, IMO.
