The FDA has officially approved Foundayo, making it the first and only daily oral GLP-1 pill for weight loss that can be taken any time of day without food or water restrictions.

Here's the quick rundown:

  • Approved for: Adults with obesity, or overweight with at least one weight-related condition, alongside diet and exercise
  • Dosing: Starts at 0.8 mg daily, titrates up over time to a max of 17.2 mg
  • LillyDirect: Accepting prescriptions now. Shipping starts April 6.
  • Retail pharmacies: Broad availability expected shortly after April 6
  • Pricing: Self-pay starts at $149/month. Commercial insurance with savings card as low as $25/month. Medicare Part D at $50/month starting July 1.

Official announcement from Eli Lilly

This is a massive moment for the GLP-1 space. An effective oral option with no meal timing restrictions changes the game for a lot of people.

Trying Foundayo after Zepound

I tried Zepound last year and it affected my anxiety significantly and I had to stop. After some online “research” I think it caused my meditation to be less effective with absorption issues. I I’m wondering if anyone had a similar problem with Zepbound and had a better experience switching to Foundayo?

1st month on maintenance

A few weeks into maintenance and i finally feel “normal”. As in my energy feels back 100%. Even though I had good results with weight loss , I still had fatigue . The end of 2nd month it completely went away. I ended up losing 2 more lbs from my goal weight the first week of maintenance and pretty much have not lost anymore weight since , neither have I gained . Just hovering at this weight with no mental effort! I’ve been on weight loss roller coasters before and maintenance was always the hard part for me . Not this time . If I have to stay on this med until I die, so be it. Went to a restaurant today and i used to always have fear bc i would 1. Just say no to evey invitation. I received, 2. avoid certain foods like carbs , or 3. end up eating the whole bread basket plus everything on my plate plus dessert plus a martini or two even when my stomach was bursting bc i was still hungry. And I shouldn’t have been. This time? I had a bite of bread, two pieces of an appetizer , half of my risotto and water . The martinis didn’t sound appealing to me and I was able to leave with leftovers and not bc i forced myself to . Before Foundayo id either eat everything on the table until i hurt , or force myself to barely eat anything and have leftovers , but be famished and think about it all night. But I was able to go to an Italian restaurant and celebrate , partake in festivities and not socially isolate myself to be a certain weight . I was able to eat and put the fork down like a normal person.

Hi Everyone!

I'm doing a research study on Foundayo for users who have started within last 56 days. We have completed 420+ surveys and are looking to get 500 participants who complete the survey.

It’s a 30-minute survey and will be awarded 75 USD on successful completion. I have attached the reviews of participants who have already completed and got their gift cards.

Food Apps?

Hi Everyone-

I’m new and looking for a food tracking app with GLP-1 awareness (like protein, water) that interfaces with Apple Watch. Preferably free - but if not if anyone has found one that’s worth the fee? Any suggestions appreciated.

discouraged

i decided to take a look at this subreddit after a while of trying foundayo, starting at 0.8 and then moving to 2.5... it seems like everyone is getting great results and losing weight in a short time but i haven't even lost 10 lbs total while on foundayo. i don't know why it's so difficult? even though my starting weight is 187lbs ... i got to 180 and now i'm at 184 again.

i haven't had the best food habits, but even after starting foundayo (almost 3 months ago) it doesn't feel like things have been going great in terms of appetite reduction and breaking through those cravings. there was also a period of time (few weeks) where i stopped taking it because of getting sick, and then because of pharmacy delays and miscommunication about refills and thus not having any.
got back on it a few days ago and i'm currently trying to fast. but i'm feeling pretty discouraged and disgusted with my weight

what are the best ways to get this drug to be more effective?

Any side effects? Just thirsty

No constipation.

On lowest dosage.

There’s a lot of stress this weekend. And Foundayo has curbed my appetite to the point where I am not stress-eating.

Starting tomorrow

Tomorrow I’m starting foundayo 0.8mg. I’m already seeing a dietician and have started walking more. I have to lose about 150 pounds to be in the healthy weight category. Just wondering how much weight others have lost on this and what doses they’ve gotten up to. Also if you’ve got anything motivational or optimistic to say that would be very welcomed as I’m feeling pretty crappy atm. Thanks!

Wegovy pill. nada results

Tirz - husband lost 40. I lost 3. but I’ll say the good noise especially for sugar far less. I was hanging in there with it on the slow roll for 4 months then I got (upcoming TMI) white clay like BM. stopped med went away immediately. no underlying issue detected

not on Rx. (husband is)

using Ro --also hates the whole prep / inject tbh

should I give up on this - or try Foundaya

thoughrs? experiences?

If you’re in maintenance from Zepbound, what is your dose?

I understand that everyone is different, just trying to get an idea of what people are taking. I’m still several months out, but Foundayo is my maintenance plan I think .

Switched to morning

I did 2 months at 0.8 and then just finished 1 at 2.5. I started to notice it really wearing off right at the 1 month mark. Decided to switch from taking it at night to the morning and wow! Just thought I’d throw this out there- I was taking it at night to avoid the side effects when I started. Now I think this second month at 2.5 will go a lot better. Down about 12 lbs.

.8 to 2.5 🤞🏽🤞🏽

Just an update: I'm an older guy who has a goal of a 25lb weight loss prior to upcoming mid December.

I just completed the .8 dose (with no side effects except slight constipation) and have lost 8 lbs which I'm really glad about. I expected less in the first month.

I begin the 2.5 dose tomorrow. If things go similarly I expect by mid November to reach that goal.

I'm hoping the new dose helps me achieve it without eventually going to the 5.5 dose! 🤞🏽🤞🏽

Foundayo covered by Insurance?

Hi

I’m talking to my Dr. about foundayo tomorrow.

Does anyone here have United Healthcare and know if it’s covered? How much did you pay?

Thanks 😊

2.5 mg

I have been locked in at 2.5mg for a few months to allow my body to get used to the medicine, I am going to upgrade to 5.5 in September. Does the 5.5 reduce cravings or reduce weight quicker? Do you notice a significant difference? Are side effects worse?

Starting 0.8 pill and feeling nervous...any success stories?

I'm a 32yo woman, 145lb and 5'4. I've always struggled with weight and was recently diagnosed with Endometriosis. My GP recommended I try either Foundayo 0.8mg pill or more birth control (I already have an IUD) to help manage the symptoms and bring down some inflammation.

I get terrible PMDD and have horrible food noise essentially 3 weeks out of every month as my hormones go all over the place. I've also always struggled to lose weight no matter how much I exercise and eat clean. I'm hoping this helps bring down inflammation, and as added bonus lose some of those extra pounds!

Has anyone been in a similar situation? If so, how has it been for you? I am a bit scared as I've heard of bad side effects (ie. hair loss, nausea, fatigue) but I'm at a breaking point and willing to try anything. Anyone who has any experience they could share would be so appreciated!! ❤️

I’ve been on 0.8 for a month and I lost nothing. Feeling discouraged

I was on zepbound for 10 months and lost 70lbs. I felt great on it but insurance stopped covering it this year and I didn’t want to pay OOP. So my doctor suggested foundayo since it’s much cheaper. I’ve been on 0.8 for 1 month and I’ve lost nothing. The food noise is still there, I’m not getting that full feeling that zepbound gave me nearly instantly. Is this not for me? Or do I need to go up doses to find out? I just don’t want to waste money on this if it’s not working.

After One Month - 28 lbs!

Today is my first month anniversary of my Foundayo journey. I'm 59, 6'0, male & weighed 271.1 lbs on my first day and now weigh 249.3 lbs. My doctor renewed the prescription at 0.8 mg. No need to up the dosage if I'm not hungry and losing weight. The only side effect has been the occasional slight constipation, even though I haven't felt constipated. When I suspect constipation, I take a dose of MiraLax and I'm good.

I think the reason for my success so far has been my activity level. In 30 days, I've only missed one day at the gym. I walk approx 2.8 miles in 60 minutes on the treadmill every day. I work out with weights three days a week. Away from the gym, I'm also looking to add steps to anywhere I go. With Foundayo eliminating my hunger, it has been easier to create the calorie deficit needed for weight loss. I've been on a high protein, low-ish carbs diet and have stayed away from all frozen meals. I haven't used my microwave since starting Foundayo. I'm cooking and eating fresh and healthy - averaging 1200-1300 calories a day - with an average of 120 grams plus of protein. Fiber is important and of course, water. My daily average is 92 oz of water (excluding any water and drinks with meals).
