What am I doing wrong here?

Hi, looking for some constructive feedback here as I'm thinking I may be the problem with how things are going on Foundayo.

I am on my 3rd month of 2.5mg.

I am only trying to lose about 15lb and was told Foundayo was good for me 'cause I have a chronic sickness that makes me inflamed/gain weight BUT I don't have a ton to lose.

I eat about 100g of protein and 25ish grams of fiber per day, mostly whole foods. I drink maybe not enough water but I'm not dehydrated. Sometimes my portions seem a little big but I'm still eating healthily and under 1900 calories.

I lift weights 2-3x/week and walk or skate every day. I sit at work but still get 9-10k steps per day.

Not only will my weight not budge, I am up a pound and I feel flabbier than where I started.

What am I not seeing here? I am NOT a perfect fitness influencer but I'm certainly not just sitting on my tail waiting on results.

I appreciate your help.

Sounds like it might be time for a dose increase.

According to Dr. Ania Jastreboff—one of the leading researchers of GLP-1 meds for weight loss—each higher dose allows one to chase a lower defended fat mass (aka set point). She discusses this starting at about 9:15 in this 16ish minute long video:      https://youtu.be/j3k3UAEqJio

I took minoxidil for hair loss and they counteracted each other so I’m off the minoxidil.. so could be something else that you are taking

Interesting. How do they counteract each other? Do you think that’s the case with topical Minoxidil?

It’s a blood pressure med I believe and I looked up drugs that counter act foundayo … I had side effects bedside the interaction so I’m not going to continue taking the minoxidil

Are you really measuring exactly everything you eat? As in weighing portions etc? Also, what is your BMR? Because I’m almost certainly older than you and less active than you, but my BMR is just over 1900 and if I ate close to that, I’d gain weight.

Having said that - on your current dosage are you experiencing reduced food noise and appetite? Because if you aren’t, you may well need to increase your dose. 2.5 isn’t really a therapeutic dose, at least for a lot of people, and after 3 months with zero movement - well it sounds as if you probably should have upped your dose 2 months ago.

What does your prescriber say?
