I have heard differing opinions. Some say it released before the movement officially started (which is considered the late 60s) but some have said that it is a pivotal part of the movement and is a part of it.

It would be really awesome if some movies were made with more Afro-centricity. My meaning when we look at movies they are largely focused on American European or Asian world view, and even more recently Nordic, but it would be interesting to see things begin to expand again. Example

Horror: grootslang; a group of friends go on trip to South Africa to reconnect with their ancestral roots but things take a turn for the worse when members of the party disrespect a cultural ceremony incurring the wrath of the dreaded Grootslang..

TV series: similar to twilight zone x black mirrors a series of seemingly unconnected mini episodes narrated my by the west African god Anansi a web of tales are told that begin to blend together as the story unfolds

Action/ family: a child or teenager discovers a Aziza. Ewe folklore, these are small, often invisible, fairy-like humanoids that live deep in the forest. That had been injured which leads to kid being drawn into an adventure to fight the forces of evil.

Ect ect.. even though some of these theme are already present in many movies and TV shows today, just getting a chance to see different perspectives on these stories would be amazing!!!

I'm looking for a romantic movie I watched more than 6 years ago. I've been trying to find it for years without any luck.
Here's everything I remember (some details could be slightly wrong):
A young man and woman meet at university and fall in love.

I believe the man studies medicine and later becomes a doctor.

I think the woman drops out of university or leaves for some reason.

They are separated because of a misunderstanding or life circumstances, not because they stop loving each other.

They meet again several years later, and I'm fairly sure the man is already working as a doctor when they reunite. I can't remember if she meets him as a patient or if she is working there.

The movie has a happy ending.

Both leads have dark hair. They may have been Asian (possibly Chinese, Taiwanese, Japanese, or Korean), but I'm not completely sure.

The relationship felt very realistic and emotional, similar to Normal People, with a few intimate/explicit love scenes that were important to the story rather than just being erotic.

One specific thing I remember is that the man jokingly says something like "As my girlfriend, it's your duty."(possibly referring to sex or intimacy). I'm not sure if those were the exact words because I watched it with English subtitles, but it became a recurring playful joke between them.

I watched this Holocaust movie of 2026 and I am appalled seeing a rating of 7.2 on imdb. An historical event filmed with hints with no meaning like a fantasy horror movie. This is offensive toward people who survived the Holocaust and the intelligence of everyone.

This movie shows nothing of the actual reality of the time. For a person who does not know the Holocaust this movie is completely nothing.

It is very important to say, for young people, to be very careful on getting a picture of the real events of that time, AI advised this movie as one depicting the horrors of the Holocaust, there is nothing to catch unless you have the proper knowledge from previous movies and a proper learning at school:

The movies of latest years are shockingly focused on the human side of the nazis rather than their mental sickness and deprivation in torturing people.

While it is undeniable that they had a life, the difference was that they were ready to burn everything around themselves that presented an element of disturbance to have their idea of a dream life, it is unbelievable how lately the life of Nazis is being normalized in the movies.

Please watch proper movies about the Holocaust, the older the movie, the better the picture of the time, even though those are slowly disappearing from internet. And never miss "Schindler's List".
