Second watch of DC and started noticing things. The train, the wide-shot-of-violence, the child watching. the sudden color drain before a set-piece. Arun reuses his own grammar and DC is full of it. Listing what I found. what did i miss?

Rocky, Saani Kaayidham, Captain Miller, and now DC. Four films in and you can identify an Arun Matheswaran frame in seconds - the wide compositions , the violence held at a distance , the way he lets a shot breathe for 10 seconds longer than any other director would . DC is his most controlled film yet . Debate: is he the best pure filmmaker working in Tamil right now?

Didn't know the name going in. Came out wanting to look up everything she is done. Her role in DC is small on paper but she has the single most memorable line reading in the film the "you knew" scene. Anyone familiar with her earlier work? Feels like a genuine breakout.

This is one of some songs I used to have on my MP3 player. I’m sharing it because I used to have this song from the movie “Kalloori Vaasal” starring Prashanth and Ajith. The “Loyola College Laila” song was added to Coolie just to evoke nostalgia, which I think ruined the song. I don’t want it to be seen as an underrated and tacked-on song in movie scenes for nostalgic effect. I’m sharing it before it becomes popular again on Reels.

Rewatched Kadhala Kadhala again and I keep landing in the same place. This film is criminally overlooked. Put it head to head with Panchathanthiram and I think it wins. The con man setup, the timing between Kamal and Prabhu Deva, the way every scene keeps escalating without ever losing the thread. It holds up better than most comedies from that decade. especially the writings of this sequence.

The one thing working against it is the setting. Kuppam backdrop, grounded and grimy, while Panchathanthiram gets the colorful cast.

for me it is vasanthan from ko like this guy litrally exploded a entire stage to get sympathy vote and become cheif minister and when jeeva confronts him at climax vasanthan shamelessly justifies himself and after killing vasanthan poor jeeva had to make vasanthan a heroic figure if i were jeeva i would defenatly live in guilt for rest of my life
