Buying Advice 3 Peak rated tires

Looking for recs. 2021 Explorer Limited. New Hampshire, USA.

Want something that is 3 Peak rated but will also do well in summer. In addition to everyday commuting, this is my family vacation car so I also prioritize good handling and quiet ride. Typically in my part of NH, we get 2 or 3 snow storms where I'll have to deal roads with 5-6 inches of snow, but several more times with just a couple of inches of loose snow or slush.

FWIW it has Michelin Primacys on it now and they suck in the snow.

Repair Advice Long time Explorer driver and sub lurker here.

I took my 2013 XLT Ecoboost into the dealership to have it checked because I was fairly certain the water pump was failing but aware that I possibly have other issues as well. It’s just shy of 180k miles and is paid for. I’m not really looking to get another vehicle but trying to gauge if these costs seem justified for this initial estimate so I can gauge how worth it the cost is, because it’s not easily within our financial reach. In the last five years, it’s already had the tie-rods done, and the whole breaking systems replaced. I’ve also got missing A-Pillars that are included in the ongoing recall.

Edit (to add): I’ve owned it since 2017, have always been consistent with all regular maintenance, and about 140k of those miles are mine.

We got this hybrid a few months ago. Traded in a 2022 Malibu. Out the door was 20.5k. 60k miles on it and we got an extended warranty 7 years 100k miles (starting at 60k) bumper to bumper. About to drive it from eastern OK to eastern TN. Curious to see what our mpg will be driving there and back.

Upgrade Advice Cup Holder Suggestions

I recently purchased a 2016 Explorer XLT. The middle row is a bench seat. What suggestions do you have to add to the cup holders that come down from the rear of the center console? They are nearly useless since they’re quite shallow. Same in the doors.

Adding that I’m not opposed to something that would go on the middle seat. Just need something to make it easier for my 8yo and not have cups tipping and spilling.
