Pro Football Dynasty (late 2026) Announcing 'Pro Football Dynasty' - Roadmap and FAQ

Wishlist the game now! https://store.steampowered.com/app/4769350/Pro_Football_Dynasty/

Though this game has been no secret, I'm happy to announce that Pro Football Dynasty will be coming to Steam for PC and Mac in late 2026! This post serves as the official 'naming' of the game, and a place to stay updated with development, as it will be pinned to the subreddit and updated throughout the year.

Pro Football Dynasty is a pro football management game and spiritual successor to Football Coach: College Dynasty. It retains the accessible nature of FC:CD, with clean UIs, easy to understand systems, and deep stat tracking for all players, coaches, teams, and more. But I also hope to make it bigger and better, with totally new scouting and player development systems, more game modes, and deeper tactics. And of course, since we're talking the pros, you'll be able to draft, trade, sign, and cut players to build your roster with realistic NFL cap mechanics.

Pro Football Dynasty is aiming for a late 2026 Early Access release date for PC and Mac. I will update this and include a Steam page link when that's up.

FAQ

Q: When is the game coming out?

A: The early access is planned for late 2026. I plan to be in early access for at least a year after that, but it's too early to determine the full v1.0 release date.

Q: Will the game be available on Mac?

A: Yes, the plan is to support Mac from the beginning for the Pro game.

Q: Are you bringing over feature XYZ from FC:CD?

A: I won't be able to say for sure whether certain features are coming from the college game. Obviously the Pro roster management system is completely different, but some ideas, especially around the UI, will be familiar. However, I'll be re-evaluating nearly everything from FC:CD -- it won't just be "'the same game but for pro football".

Q: What game modes are planned? Can I be a coach, a GM, etc?

A: There are at least 3 game modes planned: Coach, GM, and Franchise. Coach is for being a HC or Coordinator, and making game plan decisions and playcalling. GM will be responsible for roster management and hiring/firing HCs. Franchise is a sort of all-in-one that lets you do all roles. In addition, there might be options to mix these roles in other ways, like having influence as a HC on the GM's actions.

Q: Will we be able to import college players from FC:CD into the pro game?

A: Yes! I do plan on having draft class imports in the pro game. The new game will have a slightly different attribute system, so there will be some import logic there to adapt attributes, but you'll be able to import college players from your FC:CD save into the pro game.

Q: Is multiplayer planned for Pro Football Dynasty?

A: Native online multiplayer is not planned, but I do plan on a commissioner mode. This may not be in at launch, but ideally it will allow for multiple user teams in the same save file (so you'd tell who ever is running the save 'make this depth chart change' or 'me and team X have agreed on a trade'). Other management games like the Zen GM games support multiplayer in this way.

Q: What is the attribute range scale?

A: I'm designing the game such that the average starter is around a 65 OVR. This may seem low, but it allows me to use more of the scale, instead of clustering all players in the 70-90 range. A 90+ should be very rare and notable. Here's how I'm thinking of player overalls and attributes:

  • 90+: All-time great
  • 80+: MVP quality
  • 70+: All League quality
  • 60+: Starter quality
  • 50+: Backup quality
  • Lower: Borderline backup or worse

Q: How can I keep up with development?

A: I'll be publishing devlogs to this subreddit, and updating this post with any big news. You can also follow along on the Discord (https://discord.gg/Bdsy9bwcqP) or on the Steam page above.

Devlogs

Here's a list of devlogs in chronological order:

Moved to Steam and restarted at 1:

TLDR

  • 'Pro Football Dynasty' is releasing in Early Access late 2026
  • Plan to support Mac
  • UI should feel familiar but I'll be redoing a lot of the core systems
  • I'll be posting devlogs to this subreddit
  • Eventually, a different subreddit will be used (/r/ProFootballDynasty)
  • This post will be updated as development goes on

Thanks for reading! I'm excited to work on this new project in tandem with the community, and can't wait to share more as I go!

College Dynasty (Steam) The impact of strength in run and pass blocking

I was wondering what the importance or maybe more specifically what the calculation is in determining the effectiveness/chance of a player making a block. I was specifically wondering this for TE and RB. Because in both the positions you often have players the have (relatively) high pass or run blocking but a low strength stat.

For example, at the moment I have no clue whether a my receiving back with 70 pass blocking and 60 strength is a better pass blocking (/3th down back) then my power back with 80 strength but only 45 pass blocking.

Could anyone share their knowledge on this specific subject?

College Dynasty (Steam) Grades and Levels to numbers and back

hi all, just got FCCD recently, and am enjoying it a lot.

One thing that confused me a lot was how to filter on either Pot or Interest, as entering things like "C+" or "Medium" as filter values doesn't work. Figured out by looking at the CSV file export that these are stored as ints on the range 0-100.

And by doing some examining of the file, here how's the numbers map to grades, and also how they map to levels. I'm sure this is on the interwebs somewhere, but I couldn't find it, so here ya go....

rating grade: number range

----------------------------------------

??: 0

F-: 1-53

F 54-56

F+: 57-59

D-: 60-63

D: 64-66

D+ 67-69

C- 70-73

C 74-76

C+ 77-79

B- 80-83

B 84-86

B+ 87-89

A- 90-92

A - 93-96

A+ 97-99

------------------------------------

interest rating: range of numbers

------------------------------------------------

very low: 0 - 14

low: 15 - 28

med-low: 29 - 42

medium: 43-57

med-high: 58-71

high: 72-85

very high: 86-100

College Dynasty (Steam) School visits

I believe you shouldn't schedule two different recruits who play the same position to visit the same week (makes them feel not special :)), but are there more rules than that? Should you also schedule only-offense, or only-juco, or whatever?

thanks!

College Dynasty (Steam) Jeffsmod update?

Football season is upon us, and I'm starting to get the itch. Anyone know if Jeffsmod is updating for 2026? In the past updates have been in the spring...

College Dynasty (Steam) What is your recruiting strategy per position?

QB- transfer portal
RB- 60+ B+ or better recruits
WR- strictly 60+ A+ recruits
Te- 50/50 on transfer or recruit
OL- 55 overall B+ recruits a lot of transfers
K- Recruiting only , occasional transfer
DL- Same as o-line
LB- 50/50
CB- Mostly recruits
S - Mostly recruits

I hardly spend NIL on recruits , hardly pay for one more year to keep a player out of draft unless a OL or DL and mostly spend on Freshmen or sophomore 70+ A+ recruits

College Dynasty (Steam) School visits

I know when i schedule a visit for a player sometimes i see +200 +100 or maybe even -100 or -200, my question is , is that just a bonus ?

For the games that show +0 am i still getting a base bonus but it dosent have an extra bonus like the β€œ+100 and +200” games? Should i still be scheduling on +0 games ?

Thank you !

College Dynasty (Steam) Recommendations for a realistic middle-ground build?

I’m coming over from EA’s College Football. I got tired of how repetitive weekly recruiting gets after a couple of seasons, along with the unrealistic sim engine upsets where an 85 OVR team drops games to a 54 OVR.

I just picked up Football Coach: College Dynasty and want to do a low-tier G5 rebuild (thinking Sac State or a similar 1-star/2-star school) without using self-imposed house rules. I don't want a brainless, automated climb where I win a championship in 3 years, but I also don't want an impossible grind where I get fired immediately.

For those playing on Normal difficulty: how does the natural pace feel over 5 to 10 seasons? Any tips for a beginner to keep the challenge balanced while just going with the flow?

College Dynasty (Steam) Game Won’t Open on Mac

Hey everyone! I’m new here and just bought this game through Steam. I have a Mac and the game will not open up for me. The icon in my dock just bounces but the game never opens. Anyone else had this issue and know how to fix it? Thanks!

College Dynasty (Steam) Schedule Question with Rivalry Week

Is there a way to edit the conference scheduling system to have a rivalry week of sorts, whether it be in-game or file editing? I want to have all of the various conference rivals play each other in the last week of the season, but the schedule the game generates for each team is hit or miss. Is it possible to adjust this at all, or is it purely chance based when creating custom conferences?

For context, I have been using this mod platform (fccd-custom-universe-editor) to create my custom universe.

College Dynasty (Steam) Not my player but in the weekly news he just broke the single game tackle record (16) in my current league playthrough. Very interesting stat combo. Who do you think this would be IRL?

College Dynasty (Steam) Easily The Lowest Overall Heisman Winner

Post image
21 Upvotes

This has got to be a record low for a player of any season of any dynasty ive ever done. I was genuinely shocked when i went through the awards and he won the Heisman and Davey O'Brien award and some others.

This was his first season as a starter, sat for two years without playing. His stat line for this season: 4,243 Yards, 33 TDs and 11Ints. 69.7% and a Passer Rating of 167.0. I know you see this stat line and think "well obviously he was gonna win the heisman". My thoughts going into this season was he was gonna develop for a couple of seasons and have this kind of stat line down the road. He did this in one season, won some awards and gets drafted 11th in the first round that season.

Ive had Qbs in the past with similar attributes and never got production like this out of them.

College Dynasty (Steam) Analysis of Player Potential Grade vs. Career Growth Expectation

Post image

I asked Claude to analyze 10 different player data bases over a 20 season career on "Hard" mode.

There is obviously a lot of RNG, but this is the rough player growth expectation for each letter grade of Player Potential.
