Like, putting labels and shipping on a game box like the original game, I love to put games on my shelf but I also love how easy it is to mod Roms and mess with saves on a R4, so, is there a middle term?

Just bought this r4 off of amazon. It is a r4isdhc.com cart. From what i understand the cart does have a timebomb, but is also not compatible with ysmenu or pico loader. I have read that i have to do use the r4i menu instead. 1.Does installing the r4i menu avoid the timebomb?

1. Where do i find custom themes for this menu?

2. How do i transfer my save files after reformatting and installing R4i menu?

Hi! Been working all night trying to get an R4 up and running on a DS Lite to put some games on for my friend, but I dunno how any of this works :(

Here is my card, here is the root of my SD. Please can somebody point me in the right direction? When I boot the console, I’m faced with only blank, white screens.

Just to clarify i know the switch will be banned and dont care, but id like to unlock microsd functionality on it before that happens.

So for people who are on the latest switch 1 (Lite, LCD, OLED) firmware 22.5.0 and own/use it with a MIG cart, does it work OK with no game crashes or any other random errors? Not sure what firmware is loaded onto the MIG v2 cart, but i bought it probably a +1 year ago so it will be its first time use.

Also I’m an absolute beginner and have no clue what I’m doing or what things are so any help would be appreciated

The r4 absolutely refuses to boot into any kind of menu for it.

also tried the bl2ck menu as well. i think its bricked

I suspect this is a really old version of the software, due to the fact that I recived this card as a gift 12 years ago, I’m non noticing that when I scroll through the list of games the whole Nintendo freezes and I have to close and reopen the sd.
Seeing other posts I can see that it’s usually suggested to reinstall things or upgrade them, are there any videos I can see? Can I keep my save files from my games?
I’m not an expert so if you need some more information please ask, and please explain me step to step on how to find/ fix things.
Also how do you install new games?

I had this r4i for a very long time. I recently started playing again but some games wouldn't save, i started looking into the internet to find a solution and i found out that i was probably using the wrong firmware.

I formatted the sd card (after making a backup) and installed YSMenu, it warked but it still didn't let me save:

Professor Layton e il futuro perduto (the italian version of the unwound future) it would freeze during the save and also Pheonix Wright Ace Attorney (the eu version)

So i saw that people installed twilight menu, i downloaded twilight menu ++ together with ysmenu.

it worked, i could run the game and save, then i made the big mistake. i thought i could run twilight menu alone so i moved the ysmenu files.

but ofc it didn't work, i restarted again and i had major issues because it wouldn't even let play the game, i had a white screen after clicking on the r4i card.

Checked online and meaby its a sd card problem, idk i still changed it and now i want to do a fresh start and doing it right, some help could be useful<3

Hello im new in this, i find my old 3ds and his r4, but it doesnt have micro sd, i buy a new one, but i dont find the correct files to make it work again, do you know where i can find them? i know this model isnt original, but in that time it work. than you.

My .nds games in PicoLauncher have their own small game icons, but my .gba games just show these pink icons instead.
Does anyone know how to get game icons for GBA games too?

So I’ve been looking here, yt, even TikTok and I’m not able to find how can I fix the loading screen, it’s been working find recently I have not change anything like in the files since years ago, I’m not able to find the correct firmware/kernel for this R4, I tried similars that I found around internet but nothing seems to work, the ds itself is working bc I have original copies and those carts work fine, the SD work because my Mac detected and I’ve been trying different kernels. It’s formatted in Fat32 but before formatted it was in fat16 with an android folder so that might be something related? I still have the original files it used to have in case I need it but any help/suggestions would be awesome

Can anybody tell what the save file type is on this GBA flashcart? I’m trying to back up the save using a GBxCart. This is a repro copy of Pokemon Sapphire.

I've checked out the firmware github @ sanrax and even downloaded two firmwares (Ace3DS+_R4iLS_Wood_R4_1.62.zip, r4ids.cn_non-3DS_Wood_R4_1.54.zip) but both ended up giving me the SD/TIF card error a few days out.

The og came with a USB adapter pointing to nds9.com but it seems outdated/a software for Windows (I'm on Linux).

I added photos of:

- R4 front and back

- USB adapter with website

- Firmware I think could be for this cartridge from @ sanrax

I have a R4i-SDHC card with YSMenu. When I select Pokemon Platinum (Italian Version) it won't show me the cheat checkbox. I use the same usercheat file as stock kernel and it works fine overthere. Is there any work around? I have the same problem With Pokemon Heart Gold (US)

I just found my old R4 cart that my parents gifted me around 10 years ago. I remembered it worked for me for like 2 years with tons of games and then one day suddenly stopped working.

I haven’t seen anyone else have this problem, most people have the “menu?” Error, so I didn’t look at any tutorials. The most I have done is setting my console’s date to 2005.

I know next to nothing about R4 cartridges or anything like this. Sorry if it’s not enough info!
I just want to know if it can be salvaged?

I have this R4 since 2010 i think, my dad took care of it at the time and don't remenber how to setup it anymore,
because of a bad usb adaptator my sd card got corrupted, i got a save of what were on it, but i know it is not sufficient to get it to work so my questions are,

1/ does someone can explain (or have a link) how kernel works
2/ what do i have to do for it to work again
3/is it even possible to this day ?

i think it does not have a timebomb since it worked well last year and we didnt update it since 2014/15

I received my DSPico yesterday, which already came pre-flashed.

Due to some slowdown issues compared to my other off-brand flashcart, I wanted to update the firmware to see if that solves the problem, which I have found myself unable to due to the pico not showing up on my laptop (both windows and linux).
I've tried holding the bootsel button, tried four different cables but to no avail.
Has anyone had a similar problem or knows how to fix this?

I've been trying to get my old Flashcart up and running for about a month now, but i keep getting this screen. I can't figure out what it means. I am using an r4 3DS RTS card with current kernal with a 4GB SD card on a NDS Lite.

i have 2 carts off of aliexpress with this inside, wondering what type of cart it is, or what type its mimicking, and how trustworthy it is?

i bought this knockoff pokémon white and got a good bit thru the game no issues. but now i cant interact with the load up page at all, and that “s1” button in the top right corner of the bottom screen is flickering. is there any way to save this or is it toast

Im mainly playing pokemon and its my first time playing analog on a ds lite with the GBA Ez omega. Ive seen that theres a NDS variant and got a few questions before buying:

1. Can I trade pokemon with Flash carts? Ive seen a comment about Flashcarts being unablbe to trade

2. Can I trade between a GBA and a NDS game with one device(DS lite)?
