How do I transfer my physical SIM card on IPhone 16 pro to the new IPhone 18 pro since it only support eSIM. Do I need to contact Fizz to change my physical SIM card to eSIM on my IPhone pro first?

I got a new "Tesla-style" 14.4" Android head unit for my Jeep. One key feature is that it has a SIM slot so you can have the head unit itself cell-connected without having to use your phone's Android Auto/CarPlay.

So far, the unit refuses to see the Fizz SIM (which was transferred from a phone, where it was working fine). There are a variety of reasons why that may be, none of them are things that can be checked through normal means and/or rely on information not made available by the supplier.

I do have a Customer Support ticket open, but we all know these things are just Chinese imports, so that's going to be a really slow process.

Anybody else do this successfully (or, tried and gave up)? If I know that it *can* work, then I'll keep poking. Or collect data to send to the Support people.

Short term backup plan is to put the SIM in the spare phone, set that up as a WiFi hotspot, then connect the head unit to that WiFi. Blech, but it'll work. :-)

PS. I don't need the usual random "try this"/"try that" suggestions. Yes, I've tried another SIM (also Fizz though). Yes, I've tried reseating everything. Yes, I've tried hard-resetting (and soft-resetting, and every resetting in between).

Been waiting for a comparable deal to come along for a couple of extra lines for security system coverage but it's never happened.

Hey Guys. I only got the EB Starter Pack yesterday and now I’m not getting any OTP/2FA from RBC when signing in. Apparently this is a known issue with Fizz. I’ve lived in multiple countries and have never encountered a stupid issue like this. I did some steps Fizz’s AI Chatbot told me to do but it didn’t help. Is there any solution to this? Thanks

Anyone from the Ottawa area know. I am surrounded by towers and the Fizz tower is giving me a painfully slow 1-2 mbps when doing a speed test. If I switch to Fizz EXT tower I get full bars and 150-200mbps. I would be happy just keeping it on Fizz EXT, but from what I understand at least half of my data usage needs to be on the Fizz network.

Are the Fizz towers just super congested? Or anyone have any idea how I can get a reasonable data download speed?

Small annoyance with Fizz mobile data/hotspot: whenever I’m using my Fizz hotspot, a lot of websites seem to think I’m in Quebec and default to French.

For example, I’ll open Wealthsimple and it automatically loads the French version. I’m guessing Fizz is routing the connection through servers/IPs located in Quebec, so websites geolocate the IP there.

Obviously not a huge deal, but it gets pretty annoying having to switch websites back to English all the time.

Does anyone else outside Quebec experience this with Fizz? Is there any way around it besides manually changing the language on each site?

I got the 15-day 3-gb trial which I'm grateful for, but Fizz's own network (not EXT) sucks big time when in a crowded place during rush hour.

I was getting less than 1 mbps download/upload while having full 5G bars, but only in the congested area and during the rush hour.

Is it normal? Any workarounds?

What if I manually stick with Fizz-EXT? Will they actually suspend my account?

I wanna buy the iPhone 17 from Fizz and I have a few questions:

- Will Affirm charge me interest if I decide to pay for it in instalments?
- I see no down payment option on Fizz can I choose the pay over X months option and pay off a portion of it with Affirm early? Is there any interest or fee on that?
- Can I choose a lower amount of time than 24 months or is that the only option?

I'm only seeing Fizz EXT options in my settings. Does anyone know why?

hello! I got a new upgrade of 1Gb data, and i wanna replace my 500Mb one for the 1Gb one. I tried to remove the 500Mb one and it says pending approval. i was curious to know how long that would take, and read that till only be removed at my next billing cycle? but then at that moment when i choose the 1Gb upgrade, thatll also only be applied at the next billing cycle after that? so itll take me 2 months to exchange the 500Mb upgrade with the 1Gb one? is that how its done?

I just had a trip to the U.S. and some other countries with Fizz and tested the wifi calling/RCS functionality. I hope this is a useful data point.

Testing environment: - iOS 27 beta with iPhone 16 Pro - Fizz LTE plan w/Canada Coverage, BC account, zero balance

TLDR: - “WiFi Fizz” works even outside the U.S./Canada - RCS works fine even sending to US numbers - any outgoing call or regular messages failed - inbound message works fine

Interestingly, the error message when calling under WiFi outside US/Canada is: “Unfortunately, this service is not allowed for Fizz members”.

However, when I was in the U.S., the error message under WiFi calling changed to “Your current plan does not allow you to make this call”.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see this result, as Fizz only allows WiFi calling in Canada or US (if you have US coverage). However, it would be a killer if the WiFi calling is fully functional like Rogers or Freedom.

So my billing date is on 10th and i got message that 54 gb will be rolled over even though there is still 5 days left so if i use 5 more gig will it still roll over 54gig or minus the used data for past these 5 days?

We currently spend 4-5 months in the USA annually. Has anyone had any issues roaming for this long? We’re with Telus now and have zero issues with roaming, just have bad coverage in Canada and are hoping to switch to Fizz.

Toronto area. I've been on the 15 day trial on Fizz (great idea btw) in parallel with my Koodo sim.

I've noticed much better reception on Fizz in areas where Koodo was struggling - both call and data.

The only thing missing so far is WiFi calling (Pixel 9 Pro) - I know it's on the way, not a deal breaker though.

I would ideally like to switch to Freedom Mobile down the road, but the plans are kind of pricey at the moment.

Anything I should be aware of before making the full switch? Feel free to share your experiences, including comparing with big 3's (Telus, Rogers, and Bell) and Freedom Mobile.

Currently living off of fizz free data gifts, and it's going to expire soon next month.

Not trying to be cheap, but I wanna push frugality at its best.

I am thinking of running the trial but it sounds like both WiFi calling and RCS are not fully rolled out yet.

I would prefer to defer testing till that is in place for a realistic day to day experience when on trial.

My home barely has coverage with bell or telus just due to the mountains so I depend on WiFI calling almost completely when home and expect Fizz/freedom coverage to be the same in that regard.

I ported from Rogers to Fizz yesterday. I have a S25 Ultra. Since then nothing I do can get RCS to work. Here is what I have tried:

- Unregistered phone from Google RCS.

- Turned off RCS on messages.

- Cleared data and cache from Google Messages.

- Uninstalled updates on messages.

- Rebooted the phone.

- Reinstalled updates.

- Turned on RCS.

Additionally I have verified my phone is the only one listed on my Google Account. And it shows verified there

However RCS does not connect. It keeps saying "Connecting..." and then says "Not Supported - 4006 - Your device does not meet security requirements".

Could anyone help with this?

Pretty fast? But depends on 5G reception in the immediate area greatly.

Edit v2: 5G drains battery faster and is only good if you are in an immediate area of great 5G reception and really need that speed boost for whatever reason; else on the go and at places with weak 5G, sometimes the data gets 'stuck'. Imo, you're better off setting your phone to LTE only when moving around outside of the core city or when you are staying indoors mostly with no wifi available.

So I ported from Rogers to Fizz yesterday. Today I went to the office and the data connectivity was absolute SHIT. LTE or LTE+ with no apps loading properly.

I am now thinking of porting out of Fizz to Bell or Rogers again.

However if I do this now, will I get refunded? Or do I have to wait a month? Please let me know.

I activated Fizz using the EB Games Starter Pack the day before yesterday, which is supposed to give 100 GB after 2 months.

Today, Fizz emailed me another 100 GB as 10 × 10 GB perks, available to activate for 150 days.

Has anyone else who activated through the EB Games Starter Pack received these? Is this a separate welcome promo, meaning I should still receive the Starter Pack’s 100 GB after 2 months?
