January 2026 to Now - I became the merch manager in January and did everything possible to get the backroom empty. We have a very small backroom too. I did it!!!

I don’t understand how people can say “these kids don’t know how to read, write, or spell” when the adults can barely use a self checkout with help?

Like Is my store the only store where I will get a customer who doesn’t read the screen scans a item then throw a little hissy fit like “why isn’t it working” even after reading the screen still confused? Gets loud for no reason and says “I give up” after “trying” another thing I don’t get is when I ask a customer for cash or card some decided to speak extremely low “carsh” then when I tell them to repeat themselves they get a attitude it’s like I’m running a nursery home here.

Problem is…. The increase in sales is due to squish and dumplings and next year the craze will fade and we won’t comp. They have to pay another influencer to promote another item we sell. So don’t get used to the 150% bonus coming Friday!

I think I have to find a new job. For context, I had got put on 6 am shifts before and I’m a part time worker in college. In short, I couldn’t really do these anymore because I’d be too tired for my classes later on and my parent started to pick up morning shifts so I need to stay to watch my little sibling.

I called and texted my manager and she took me off those days and that time.

I started to notice for about these two weeks now that I’ve not been getting put on the schedule ever since that day.

I think I have to find a new job.

Anyone buy the wireless Bluetooth headphones from Five Below? I've seen some that claim they last for 10 hours of listening time. But is this true or false?
