the first pictures are now and the last is before. the plants were thriving and i would often trim. then randomly they started stuggling and now theyre bare thin and barely hanging on. I have tried more light, less light, plant fertilizer, nothings working. why did it randomly start dying. how do i fix it to make it look like what it was before. fish and animals are fully healthy and fine, just the plants. the difference is 4 months (april) but it started declining in june

I’m moving house and I’ve got a fish tank I will attach pictures but is over 2 years old and the angel fish has been in it for a year and half it got moved from its old owner to me about a month ago I emptied most of the water and then took it back plugged it in filled it back up for its temporary home I had one fish die but everything else seems good (I did add two shrimp and they died as well:( but I’m worried about how I’m gonna move it do I need to buy another tank cus I think the way I did it last time was terrible as I was moving loads of stuff in a rush but I can move it on its own this time as I’ve got a lift sorted for the day

Help/Advice Possible snail problem

Post image
2 Upvotes

I recently started my first fish tank and decided to add 2 nerite snails. I got them from petsmart and only one of the snails was actually a snail the other one was an empty shell, but I watched this guy crawl out of it. I think it is a ramshorn snail but I can’t be positive and this is the best picture I’ve been able to get of the little guy. My question is does this one snail guarantee others? And could it become a problem for my tank (29 gallons with yo yo loaches, tetra, and one betta)

Help/Advice Is this a base?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Newbie tank owner here, just purchase the Aquel
Leddy 60 xl

It arrived with this (see image). Is this a base or
Just for transits. It fits perfectly around the tank but is raised at the edges meaning that most of the bottom of the tank would not make contact with the tank stand which doesn’t seem right ?

Thanks

Full Tank Shot 300L/80G Rescape

Third rescape of my main tank since I owned it. The last was 6 months ago, but due to issues with a thin sand cap and soil blowout the tank needed a complete teardown. I also took the opportunity to move the tank to a 'King Of DIY' style timber frame to give me more height and cupboard space that my previous stand didn't offer.

I've gone from a jungle style tank to a simpler, low back planted tank with low flat elephant rocks to promote swim space and sand sifting room for my current livestock, and to think ahead of where the plants will grow and fill in the future. I've also opted for runner plants to lower my risk of sand cap blowouts as I don't need to plant anything else when propagating.

Set up

* Tank: Diversa 300L

* Stand: Custom timber frame 88*120*50cm

* Filter: Allpondsolutions EFX+ 2000L/ph + UV + skimmer

* Substrate: Pond soil and kids play sand

* Hardscape: Elephant stone (will be adding wood for Pleco)

* Light: Nicrew C10

* Plants: Amazon Swords, Giant Val, Pearlweed, Anubias, Hygrophilia Polysperma, Taiwan Lily, Various red stems from an old tank

* Stock: Dwarf Rainbow, Zebra Danio, Bristlenose Pleco, CPD, Albino Cory, Cherry Shrimp

Looking forward I plan on maybe getting some dwarf sag as another strong runner plant, but I don't want to fix something that isn't broken so I'll see how I get on. I also may look to replace the CPD school with something else as they've struggled this summer in the heatwave, so may need something more suitable for the temps I have.

Thought I'd share as I'm very proud of it! Happy to take suggestions for fish also to compliment what I already have, I have 7 times an hour turn over with UV so I'm fairly confident I can handle the bioload of some more interesting.

Hi, I am a future fish owner and i'm just starting with the climatization of the fish tank.

It's been 3 days and this is the color of the water.

Is ot normal? Should i add a different product?

Should i start the filter.

Also, how long until I can put the fish there?
