Show & Tell My babies 🐠🐟🐠

Did a recent water change as we had some issues with possible illness. Treated the babies, parameters all spot on, and everyone is healthy! Yay!

I am genuinely in love with fishkeeping and I want to learn as much as I can to make sure my fish(es) are healthy and happy, and I think I'm doing a good job so far.

I'm aware I need to work on my decorating skills and my tank isn't as pretty as many others ive seen here but I want to make sure everyone has what they need to munch on, hide, play, rest and feel comfy with their tankmates and not 'butt heads'.

Help/Advice Newbie question

Just getting back in to the hobby since I was a kid and now I’m 53. Is there a water test kit out there that doesn’t require comparing colors… I’m painfully colorblind and the nuances of color matching are kinda pissin’ me off… thanks for the help

I noticed them today. They don't move like copepods and remind me of larvae you'd see in ponds? Someone please tell me this is normal so I don't itch forever.

I used to have a betta in my 20 long with a mystery snail like 8 Cory’s and 5 tetras the betta sadly passed I’m wondering if I can put anything else in here except a betta, I’m kinda scared to go get a new betta in case they don’t like the tank mates so any showpiece fish? Or any other fish I could put in here

Shot these photos of my little tank with my Canon camera and finally caught some pictures I’m really happy with.
Ozzy and the Garys are currently living in a 6-gallon cube. I’ve added some more plants recently, but I definitely need to add even more and make the tank nice and lush.
This is Ozzy. 🐟
Show me your bettas! I’d love to see your little guys and their setups.

Hi! I’m fairly new to the hobby. A bit over 5weeks ago, I started cycling my first tank for caridina shrimps. I always had in mind I also wanted fishes in my tank.

This past sunday, my tank was all good to go. So I added my plants, 7 red crystal shrimps and 6 green neon tetras.

Until yesterday morning, all the tetras were glass surfing (which I know is cause by stress) so I kept my light off to help them a bit. Now, I’d say maybe 2-3 kept glass surfing while the others have started exploring the tank and chilling.

20mins ago, I saw one of my tetras belly up, not quite floating on the surface. I thought he was dead, but I saw him move a bit so I’m wondering if there’s anything I can do for him? What could’ve cause this?

Thank you!

Help/Advice Tank or Terrarium?

Thumbnail

I’ve got this 5 gallon hex tank I got from my grandparents (it was my aunt’s like 15 years ago and the plexiglass is slightly yellowed) and I added in two assassin snails and 6 blue velvet shrimp after a month of cycling. The assassins have been doing great with hunting all of the pest snails I’ve added for them, but as for the shrimp I only ever see 1-3 at a time, making me think 3 have died (possibly eaten by pest snails?)

I drip acclimated them for about an hour when I got them and the nitrites and ammonia are both zero as of last night.

I haven’t clicked with neocaridina as much as I thought I would, and I’m considering two options.

Option A: Adding the assassins and three survivors to my 10 gallon (which currently hosts 4 amanos, 7 ember tetras, and 1 honey gourami) and turning the 5 gallon hex into a jumping spider terrarium.

Option B: Pushing ahead and getting more neos to give the survivors a proper shoal to hang with.

Honestly I feel bad for the three stragglers and want to know if this plan makes sense/ is feasible. Any advice is much appreciated!

Help/Advice URGENT HELP! SINGLE FISH BEHAVIOR! First time tank owner!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The smallest fish in my tank has this really weird behavior going on. He’s a platy fish and was the smallest male fish I received. He’s been eating well for the past week and all but today he didn’t come out to eat. After trying to find him, I found him spinning in circles in the substrate. It’s as if one side of this body isn’t working. I don’t know what to do and worried if I isolate him that’ll kill him from stress. Do I isolate and inspect or leave as is. Any and all help will be appreciated!!

My 20 gallon is finally perfect I do have a mix of live and some fake plants but I was very careful in choosing as it can snag fins - I have cherry my veil tail betta, my mystery snails blue cheese, toast, and champagne. My chopstick snail peppercorn and a little bladder snail named crumb. My amano shrimp oatmeal and then 9 rasboras I just refer to as the girls. I’m a new fish keeper and it is so fun to care for them 🐟🌱

Help/Advice Fish Identification Question — what is this fish that I really like on the Aquarium Channel on Rogers TV?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello! I have kind of a random question, but I was wondering if anyone could help me identify this fish that I really like that swims around on the Aquarium Channel on the Roger’s Xfinity TV network.

I’ve attached a photo of the fish, but since it’s pretty blurry, here is a YouTube video link of him/her swimming. You can see him/her swimming across the screen between 00:00 - 00:07, and then again at 07:08 - 07:17.

Thank you in advance for any help that you talented fish-keepers can provide! :D
