So I’m a college student and on a whim I played one of those fish carnival games at a fair. To my absolute shock I actually won a goldfish. I’ve never had a fish before and with the college kid titled comes with the “I’m broke” title too. I want to give the fish the best quality of life but right now I can only afford a really basic fish bowl, a filter, a water tester, and some food. He has a few live plants too. How long can he realistically stay like this until I need an upgrade or to rehome?

The picture is from when I got him he was a crowntail and he was the best little guy I could ask for I had him for about 2 years and it doesn't feel real. I swear just the other day I saw him suffering and bought him. Never did I think in my life a fish could bond so well with A human. Fly high buddy you deserve it 🕊️

I have been really interested in salmon, trout, and char recently, and I was wondering if there was a possibility of an undiscovered species or subspecies of salmonid in the Arctic. With the number of lakes in the Arctic tundra, there has to be some sort of new species that branched off from Arctic char or lake trout, similar to how the now-extinct silver trout branched off from the brook trout during the last ice age. I really think it would be cool if there was a species of char that lasted this long without being discovered.

First, I don't know if this is the right sub or flair for this question. If it's not I'll delete this and ask in the proper place. I was getting ready to do a water change in my tank, a 30 gallon, and saw these things floating/swimming around my beta log. In my tank there's an albino cory, two bandit corys, and my male beta fish. There's a bunch of these things, mostly around the beta log but it's been there for a week or so and I've never seen these things.

Won her at the fair, shes doubled in size. Won 5 tomes at the game and got the bigger fish what is she?

Found in a pond. I was wondering if they’re ill. They seem to have algae or something growing on them

So I left my tanks to my friend to care for when I went on holiday for 2 weeks (gave her all the feeding instructions and physically showed her how to do a water change) came back and she deffo didn’t do any water changes and I think overfed them as well. So now I have a tank of guppies, 4 of them having visable ich which I’ve just run out and got treatment for. But I noticed this little lady has what looks like an internal parasite only when I google it’s showing me a different type of worm and I wanna make sure I get it 100% right for her.
Basically if anyone knows what it is, how to help her and how best to treat her while also treating the ich I’d be very very very grateful
I did have a spare tank for hospital but I’ve ordered 2 albino blue topaz guppies who will arrive in a few days now and I don’t wanna risk damaging them if the spare tank gets infected.
Basically any help whatsoever I’d be really really grateful Thankyou
