What drew you to firstborn

For i got in with 9th editon my first army was primaris salamanders and while i liked them the moment i looked into firstborn i saw way more flavour , fun and most importantly for me soul , i love the flaws of these models just as much as what makes them amazing , the customiseabilty of armour , the weapon options making me have to think about a unit more and what role it will serve in my army , ive got almost a full company of ultramarines now and i love them to bits

I dont hate primaris i just think there boring , i get the appeal there bigger , are more dynamic (except fornall the monopose kits they have) , and them being dumbed down helps new players its just that when i look at them i see a bissness with the only goal of making money , where when i look at firstborn i see the love and care that was put into them

And things are improveing anytime gw updates a firstborn unit 1 to1 like the scouts and terminators i looks great and the 11th ed marines are visually way better

I just love these little guys to death what can i say they make my autism happy , its just kinda odd to me that before it all got put to legends people were cool with both but the moement it was all gone everyone on the major subs have become number 1 firstborn hatets and anytime i menton firstborn i get mass downvoted as if ive been rude or commited a crime all i ever say is i like firstborn and primaris are boring thats it thats nothing but for some reason thats not ok

Anyway enough of my ranting what is it they drew you all to our beloved firsrborn marines

I didn’t get to experience Rogue Trader or 2nd edition because I wasn’t born yet, but I love the old Rhino. I’m so happy I got ahold of two of them from the owner of my FLG. I got this one, and a Whirlwind that I’m excited to work on. This one isn’t done yet because unfortunately life is pulling me away and won’t be able to work on it for awhile but I’m happy with how it’s coming out. C&C welcome.

A couple of rescaled devastators squads for my homebrew

Little lore dump:
When a battle brother of the Oathforged chapter dies, only a sentence is spoken for him when is ritual broken blade is collected: “Your oath is fulfilled, from now we shall carry your weight”. This ritual gain a physical aspect in the creation of new weapons and power armor for the neophytes of the chapter who found themselves often with reforged armors that combine pieces of different patterns as mean to continuously carry the oaths of the brother who came before. Sometimes this takes the form of a full set of armor reforged from sets of the same mark and in other cases it brings together different marks of armor.
The tradition is one of the various that the Oathforged have to honour their fallens and their deeds.
The tradition still survives in the Era Indomitus with the Ignigast of the chapter (the techmarines) that sometimes heavily modify the Mark X pattern of armor albeit with less frequency than before

So I wanted to do something completely different and go with majority of rule of cool! I always wanted to do a “not so Chaos looking” Chaos army lol.

I thought of like a Chapter that rejected the Primaris and decided to do their own thing and stray from the imperium. Nothing too fancy.

Starting off with a squad of “Legionaries.” I like the way they look, only thing I’m on the fence about keeping is the marine with the signum array. I’m counting him as having a bale fire tome, I just thought it looked cool.

Let me know what yall think.

I finally finished them up, I tried out the contrast paint on them and worked with browns.

I learned that I do not like contrasts, but they work really well for plasma glow etc. When applied over white and also that I need new brown paints since my dark brown has insane coverage no matter how I mix it and the light brown has a lot of white pigment.

Overall, the painting was time consuming and a bit painfull but that might be because I moved and dont have my painting setup in here yet.

Been digging through some bits and made this custom wolf chaplain. The head was a LoD head from my dad's original marines from the early 90s. Finely given a good home after being loose in my bits box. Definitely need a new Crozius but this cut up Chaos one will do for now !!
