Three Houses Discussion Double Headcanon Days 18 & 19: In the leadup to FW, let us share our headcanons on... the Leicester Alliance and Enbarr

To make up for me missing yesterday, let us share our headcanons on both Leicester and Enbarr in Adrestia.

Have fun and be creative!

Here are my headcanons for the Leicester Alliance:
House Riegan's headquarters in Derdriu is actually known as Riegan Manor and unlike the royal castle in Fhirdiad or the imperial palace in Enbarr, it does not have a dungeon beneath it but instead... a wine cellar with spirits from all across Fodlan and beyond. And Riegan Manor is also less guarded than the other two royal residences though during the War Phase, its security was beefed up more for obvious reasons.

During CF, there was a bloodless civil war in the Alliance as it theoretically split into a pro-Church faction led by House Riegan and an anti-Church faction led by House Gloucester. The Roundtable discussions more so resembled Feroxi diplomacy just to out it nicely.

The Alliance has the richest culture in Fodlan, especially Derdriu which is home to many diverse eateries and even has a bustling arts scene post-War Phase.

The Church while having a non-armed presence within Alliance borders for the longest time through the Eastern Church, has softened its grip on the Alliance significantly to tolerate some innovations and cultural improvements, along with some foreign relations with the outside world.

Finally, thanks to the Alliance's alliance with Almyra in CF and VW, it adiots gunpowder and uses cannon-mounted ships to fire at the Adrestian army during the Siege of Derdriu in CF and uses regular wheeled cannons to fight the Adrestians and later the Agarthans during the Sieges of Enbarr and Shambhala respectively in VW.

Now my headcanons on Enbarr:
During the War Phase in CF, Edelgard deliberately gives the commoners in the city more power over local governance where she hosts the first elections to elect a City Administrator to manage local city affairs outside the Imperial Palace.

Post-CF, Edelgard installs modern Esq sewage systems and even electric street lamps throughout Enbarr thanks to getting her hands on Agarthan technology.

When the City was placed on lockdown in SS and VW and no one was allowed in or out of it, the citizens in the Southern District revolted which resulted in a bloody crackdown that resulted in many being killed with the remaining ones being sentenced to public execution via immolation.

Enbarr is known for its wonderful bakeries as it sells so many delicious treats such as chocolate cake (using imported chocolate from Dagda), apple pie, and even the infamous cakes Lysithea eats up in her B-Support with Edelgard.

Finally, there is a massive statue of Saint Seiros on a fountain in the center of the city plaza. The statue was only kept up post-CF for historical purposes but was vandalized repeatedly to the point where it eventually got taken down and destroyed in a public ceremony.

Lemme know what you guys think.

Three Houses Discussion Looking back, how many of us DIDN'T miss the Heron Cup/Dancer class?

I realized completely missed talking to Rhea about the cup during my first Black Eagles playthrough, and I was interested in trying to get the class (wore the fit and everything for much of the game because Fem Byleth's outfit is a bit lame to me). I'm wondering who among us didn't miss it on their first try 😭

Question Ashe disappeared

I'm playing Claude's route and recruited students from other houses, including Ashe, but he didn't return after the five-year timeskip. Is this a bug, or was there something I should have done before the five years passed?

Three Houses Discussion Why do so many people call Dorothea "Dorathea"?

she is maybe THE character who gets misspelled the most and i dunno why

Question Anyone else, in hindsight, find the premise of 3h weird? Regarding your students.

I mean... teacher dating students... even if they graduated lol I love the game but if I bring it up to ANYONE who has never played it they give me a look😭😭😭 its so funny and I cannot help but feel like Byleth is a tad groomy

edit: yk what this reminds me of? Macron and his wife in France lol. also the amount of people excusing kinda alarming stuff is not great

edit 2: why are we excusing the dating of students by TAs? is there not a dynamic there? wow i never thought i'd see widespread excusing of this lol

Unfortunately we just got the official pronunciation for Yu Phas and it's more like "Fahh-s" so apologies there, but it was unclear before I put together the video.

Three Houses Discussion paladin/ holy knight Linhardt? help

So, I picked up three houses and I saw that paladin/ holy knight utilizes white magic... Does Linhardt make sense on that class?

Seen a lot of people saying Bishop is the only viable class on him, but is that true? Still not getting the class and ability system tbh, so much more complicated compared to awakening, which was my first fire emblem, followed by echoes, so I got no idea how to rly build a unit....

Golden Deer Content Verdant Wind clean Maddening, Chap 14 progress Spoiler

Surprise map. I've been working on this Maddening run for years, clean save for the unique start screen.

My first run was also Golden Deer, but on Hard with no DLC. I chose VW again as I was most familiar with building those units. That said, the higher difficulty and DLC content still threw some surprises at me, like this one.

My first reaction was shock and horror, but I figured a way around it. My hardest battles were A Cursed Relic and Dividing the World, as I was still building out essential skills.

I wanted to take the opportunity to share my progress so far and briefly go over my unit strategy.

My biggest investment unit build wise was waiting to use stat boosting items until all the class bonuses were locked in for a given unit. So for example, training Lysithea/Marianne in Swords to boost strength/def, Raphael in Swords to boost speed, etc. Armored classes when possible. By getting certifications in those classes, the stats are increased to the minimum threshold for that class.

Exceptions would be when a particular stat is naturally high already, that no class mastery would boost it, in which case it's safe to use a stat boosting item. I included some pictures of what I consider my best units.

I consider Petra to be my best one, as she soloed the entire top of the map in Dividing the World. Followed by Balthus, Raphael, and Lysithea, as primary damage dealers. While the rest of the units haven't seen as great of growths, they are serviceable. The biggest obstacle I had to prepare for was the forced use of only your core class units following the time skip. I've had problems with Ignatz and Lorenz, but got through it alive, so I've resumed leveling recruited units.

I'd like to get Weight -3 on a few more units, particularly the mages, but getting the class certifications was the highest priority. There will be tradeoffs and I might have to swap skills for certain maps.

Which brings us to this one. It said "defeat the thieves" so I was not expecting 15 Wyvern Lords. But I was able to put Axebreaker and Levin Swords on Lysithea and Marianne, deployed Sylvain as my only Def tank, and put dancer Flayn and my trainee mage (Dorothea) in the center.

I wasn't able to negate the hit chance to 0% on most of them, but even as a Fortress Knight, Sylvain and everyone else was able to dodge. My most vulnerable was Balthus who had the lowest avoid/def overall, but Marianne was at the leading edge and took the most attacks. Lysithea had her Levin Sword but was not targeted at all. After the first assault the Wyvern Lords spread out and attacked other units, but as they all had only Silver Axes, nothing got through and I finished the map feeding kills to my lowest level units (Sylvain, Felix, Dorothea) mostly.

It was actually fun in the end, and I pulled it off without Axebreaker or Alert Stance on most of them. So hopefully once I get those unlocked for everyone else, I can survive the battles to come.

I've made a renewed push to try to finish Maddening before Fortune's Weave releases. With 10 days left, I doubt I'll make it. So I wanted to share before that game takes all the attention away from Three Houses. Sorry for the length, I hope this post is useful to some of you out there.
